I've never been able to figure out the layout of RLM's studio. To me it seems like an endless labyrinth of rooms filled with shelves, shelves filled with every oddity put to film...I imagine if someone were to stumble upon this place they would find themselves hopelessly lost, desperate to find the way they came in. Every time they encounter a door they pray it's an exit, only to find another room of shelves stocked exclusively with Nukie. Eventually they would begin to succumb from starvation or exposure, and the last thing they hear before entering the void is Mike Stoklasa's sinister cackle.
This is where David Lynch filmed the waiting red room from Twin peaks. RLM is from the weird dimension. How else would you explain the alien rich laughter that brings you joy and makes you tremble at the same time.

I remember sending them Sumo Vixens a WHIIILE ago, which is a soft core/action-comedy movie that's awful, and I thought it may be funny for them to watch on BOTW. Rich said on PreRec they watched it and other bad movies on his birthday, and apparently that one in particular ruined the mood. (He mentioned it in reference as to why they don't watch softcore stuff on BOTW). Sorry for ruining your birthday, Rich Evans.
I like how it just seems like Rich does everything; 99% of the building and carpentry, organizing the tapes, picking up the new tapes from the mail and then screening all of them and trying to spare his coworkers from the worst of Black Spine.

RedLetterMedia is a pioneer of CZcams culture and the fact that they are still putting out quality content, and interesting and entertaining BTS content is just astounding. The movies they watch and the commentary they provide should make them as iconic as MST3K in the mainstream, but sadly they'll just have to remain the superior cheesy movie review source in our hearts. Thanks RLM, thanks Mike, Jay, and Rich Evans.
I kind of like things better this way. Unlike MST3K there's no network to sell them off or start imposing stupid rules on them, like demanding plot arcs and storylines, changing their schedule around. There's no cancellations, no selling out, no pressure to go mainstream and alienate the current audience while chasing one that was never going to care, no chaining oneself to the almighty algorithms, just a bunch of friends hanging out together and making fun of bad movies.

It always used to drive me crazy when video shops sorted stuff by genre. I remember looking for Trainspotting once and had to ask at the desk and it had been filed in the comedy section. Just file everything alphabetically - so much easier.

I don't know how they do it, but even a little behind the scenes video has rewatchability. The supposed b-shot footage at 1:30 turning into a response from Rich is actually a very cool device for a documentary-like video.
This is great to see. I absolutely love you guys for your jokes but these very genuine bts bits are honestly super interesting, I hope you guys occassionally consider more pieces like this. This film archive is genuinely impressive.

I really liked this style. The slower editing and calmer filmstyle. Softer lighting and general visual style worked really well. Very well edited as well.
This reminds me of The Library of Babel, a short story by Borges, about a infinite library cointaining all possible books (in a specific format). I think this is the first time I've ever seen them this down-to-earth, as opposed to the usual joking manner. It's kind of endearing.

It always used to drive me crazy when video shops sorted stuff by genre. I remember looking for Trainspotting once and had to ask at the desk and it had been filed in the comedy section. Just file everything alphabetically - so much easier.
Well, I'm glad Rich did re-screen all of the black spines, because Black Spine Junka 3 was a pretty good episode despite being black spine.
Is it weird that I want Rich Evans to create a CZcams channel strictly pertaining to his carpentry and wood cutting skills....

This is great to see. I absolutely love you guys for your jokes but these very genuine bts bits are honestly super interesting, I hope you guys occassionally consider more pieces like this. This film archive is genuinely impressive.
Seeing the rlm guys looking straight into the camera is just as weird as the simpsons looking into the camera.
Just want to throw out some appreciation for the work everyone on the RLM team does. Rich puts in so much organizing and constructive work, Jay and Mike trade in editing videos. Everyone trades off production roles.
