- Today we transport a 11,500lb tractor on a 4,500lb Trailer at a 21K GVWR! Something a little different than usual, but I enjoy doing this type of work with the truck! Possibly thinking about purchasing a medium duty equipment trailer to do more of this in the future.

Do you guys want to see me with an equipment trailer, and do some equipment hauling videos???
I don't know why, but I love watching towing videos. Especially when it involves LBZs or a 7.3 OBS.
Nice video! Love the duramax diesel and that remote start!!!
Appreciate it! Best remote start I’ve ever had!
@@DIYDieselwhat brand?
A MM 670 tractor weighs between 6350 and 6,550 lbs , I looked it up on tractor data. You can add another 1,000 lbs for the loader, it has 18.4x34 rear tires if they have fluid in them it’s weight would be 1,700 for both tires. So about 7,550lbs with a front loader and about 9,250lbs with fluid in the rear tires. I have a 25ft gooseneck trailer that weighs 5,500lbs from the looks of that bumper hitch trailer I thinking it should weighs about 4,000lbs , so I guessing trailer and tractor together weighs about 13,250 lbs. . The frame on that trailer is not near as heavy as mine. Over all a good video and a Duramax can pull the tractor ant trailer with no problem at all. Probably didn’t even break a sweat. I have a lb7 Duramax and I have pulled 14 round 4x5 bales of hay that weighs at least 950 to 1,000 lbs a peace plus 5,5000lbs trailer so total 19,000lbs.
I have an LB7 Dually and the max tow is 12,000 with a gcwr at 22,000. How are you towing 19,000?
@@ryanneedham8820 I haul most of the time short distance most of the time 5 to 10 miles. I have two trucks that I use . A 04 Chevy 3500 crewcab longbed dually with the 8.1 gas (496ci) 4.10 rear gears and Allison transmission which is the my main pulling truck; then I have a 2001 Chevy 2500HD lb7 Duramax Excab 3.73 rear gears .
Cool truck! I LOVE towing heavy with my truck. It's so much fun to put an upgraded truck to the test, isn't it?
I'd really recommend using wheel chocks on your truck and trailer when loading something like that. When the truck and trailer get shoved forwards and backwards like that, you can break the parking pawl in the transmission.
Appreciate it! Ya I for some reason didn’t have them with me. Bought a set to keep in the truck now tho! Not a fan seeing the truck do that lol
Your 100% right tho love doing actually testing when you upgrade parts!
@@DIYDiesel Yeah, I had a buddy loading a massive log onto a trailer with a skid steer, and it actually picked up my rear axle! I quickly flagged him down, told him to hold it still, and I just backed the trailer under the log. Haha!
If you're curious about my truck, please feel free to take a look at my channel and let me know what you think!
Thank you for replying!
@@JayRussellDuramax Damn that’s crazy! Lol I wouldn’t want that happening. Hell ya man I’ll definitely subscribe to your channel 👍 are you on Instagram as well?
@@DIYDiesel Thank you for the subscription! No, I just keep things to CZcams. I'm not much of a content creator; I just like sharing all of the stuff I do to and with my truck.
@@JayRussellDuramax awesome look forward to watching your videos! Appreciate the support as well 🤝
Badass vid man. I’m the same way, whenever someone ask to tow something for them I get stoked. Its fun putting the truck to use and seeing how it handles
Thank you! Your absolutely right. It’s extremely satisfying, and if an issue arises it’s a reason to fix something 😂
Gen y hitch is the way to go!
It’s the front runner for sure!
After I got my gen y, it's the only hitch I use!
what rear bumper is that one ?
Unfortunately I am not 100% sure it’s a weld it yourself type, but an older company that doesn’t exist anymore. I’ll get a the name when I’m done with work 👍
Tractor weighs like 6.500 my 75 hp mahindra 4x4 with loader is like 7,500
hoping its class 5 reciever, and even then your pushing the limits of it
Subscribe! Can’t wait to see more videos bro
Awesome man! Appreciate the support! 🤝
I don't think that load will add up to 16k unless you included the truck.
Tractor was at 11k
@@DIYDiesel no it wasn't. The tractor weighed just over 6k.
@@HioSSilver1999 just going off of what the owner told me it weighed. You have this tractor too?
@@DIYDiesel no....but not only can you tell by looking at it google has a lot of info about everything. When a typical tractor gets to the 11k lb range it usually has a hoe on it also. Atleast more implements than a front end loader. Some of the tractors I've hauled has been pretty heavy....even with a hoe but none has weighed 11k.
@@HioSSilver1999 gotcha 👍 truck ran great though for sure!
Would be cool to see a video of pintle vs ball
Ball at this weight is hard to find, but I could talk about the difference I have used plenty of ball hitch trailers 👍
Yeah I meant going over pros and cons of both
@@pigglets1595 gotcha! Absolutely doable 👏
Love the vid and truck but that's nothing for that truck. We have a 05 GMC with a 6.0 gas and itll pull 20,000 when ever you want it to
Appreciate it! I 100% agree with you. This is bumper pull tho which is what makes it crazy lol I wouldn’t suggest bumper pulling 16k lol I’d be lying if I wasn’t worried about the hitch lol
@@DIYDiesel i tow 16k regularly 1500-2000 miles a week and the screws came undone from the bw heavy duty hitch I upgraded to better bolts and welds but I’m keeping an eye on it bumper pull of course
@@juanramirez5817 damn that’s crazy. The Curt comes with upgraded hardware which is nice.
Ive pulled a real 16k with my 6.0 2500hd. The combo grossed a little over 22k lb.
@@HioSSilver1999 this combo was 16k maybe a little shy, but not by much.
I wouldn't load shit on a trailer with that deck
Lol ya it was a very last minute thing to move this tractor
@@DIYDiesel I get it when your in a bind
@@chuckchillson2877 ya same reason why I didn’t have wheel chocks lol not the best situation
@@DIYDiesel you made it happen
Sorry boss but that’s no where near 16k maybe 12k total 7 tractor 5 trailer nice video though
I was going off of what he said the semi driver told him back in the day when he dropped it off at his farm. Appreciate it wish I could do more towing.
@@DIYDiesel you have a badass truck though I have a lb7 and I love it can’t imagine having a lbz
@@juanramirez5817 I love my LB7 as well two completely different trucks for sure
