    Why Wing Chun is the Best:
    1. Ripping da nuts is main priority

  • @javierparedes1898
    @javierparedes1898 Před 4 lety +4

    I think this is similar to the last video. He uses principals and blocks that already exist in boxing. Except when your cover up and closing the distance.... In boxing there's more head movement and rolls when you walk in because you don't want to walk in being a punching bag. rolling with punches lessens the impact of the punches. You can deflect them by sticking your elbow out more.
    I'm glad he's being more realistic when it comes to an actually fight with a boxer or maybe someone in the street. He also is more mobile on the feet which is great. But none of this is really wing chun.
    I think people should be careful if their basing wing chun on master wongs version of it. Because 98 % of wing chun schools do not teach this kind of principals and techniques. Wing chun is very traditional and dangerous to use against a boxer or in self defense.

    • @javierparedes1898
      @javierparedes1898 Před 4 lety +2

      @Tai Chi Tube head movement is very effective... You want your head off the center line.
      Look at the average boxer. They are constantly moving their head off the center line. Mma fighters constantly move their head as well (not as often as a boxer). Good example is Mike Tyson. Believe me, it's hard to hit someone in the head when it's constantly moving and shifting.
      As far as bum rushing... That's a whole different topic.. I also practice catch wrestling and BJJ. Im just as comfortable on the ground. Stand up striking arts don't typical teach you how to sprawl or defend against being tackled

    • @javierparedes1898
      @javierparedes1898 Před 4 lety +2

      @Tai Chi Tube I think you have the wrong idea of what head movement is.
      Head movement includes shifting your body into angles, pivoting, ducking under punches, rolling under punches, rolling with punches, pulling your head and upper body back, moving your head back up from ducking under.
      Mike Tyson bobbed and weaved which was basically him moving his head off the center line. It's very effective to close the distance.
      There are plenty of street fight videos where head movement was very effective. Type boxing vs street fighting.
      Also the wing chun instructor getting koed by the boxer with the right red sleeveless shirt is a great example. He moved his head off the center line until he figured out the distance. The wing chun instructor basically had a bulls eyes on his head because the boxer didn't have to guess where his head would be

    All good points and I agree this would be effective. However, the sort of parry deflection used as the alternative in the vid looks equally effective. I realize the purpose of the cover is a result of the distance, but that is also grappling distance and should be avoided as long as striking is still the chosen approach. Just my opinion.

    You cover your head very good, but you always keep forgetting that you have a body too. Your partner is not a Boxer, so he don't see that while you cover your head, you keep your body open. A Boxer faces with this situation in EVERY minute in a sparring. Don't think that you will defend every punches. Your partner punched your cover around your head, instead of just simple destroy your body. And your "rush in" tactic is good, of course, but that's something that a Boxer will see and go to the side and beat you up. Why? Because it happens in every minute in a sparring. You try to beat a Boxer in his own game. Well... Good luck with that, but even with the biggest luck, it will not happen. What you did is not bad and can work very good on a street against a non-trained person, but will not work against a good Boxer. So what the title says: "Why Wing Chun is the best" is wrong again. It's not the best. Your Wing Chun is the best Wing Chun, but even that isn't the best.
    Peace!

    • @stanshumer1726
      @stanshumer1726 Před 4 lety +6

      I think you're missing the point here. It's not the solve all defense to every strike and he didn't claim it was. Just a defense for the hook to the face. Besides, based on that logic nothing would be effective. When you defend one part of the body, you leave another open. All there is to it. So I don't think he forgot about blows to the body. Rather he just demonstrated how to defend the hook and why you would that way, as the title suggests.

    • @tcsupreme9222
      @tcsupreme9222 Před 4 lety

      No martial artists can could beat a boxer at his own game and that's obvious with all the videos on social media showing this,now in a street fight your opponent most of the time isnt a boxer and 95% of the time will throw hooks and haymakers so this technique is very effective on the street and most of us won't be in a ring with a boxer in our lifetime,wing chun is very effective on the street as long as you keep moving and stay out of the practice stance,also I speak from experience a decades worth.

    • @stanshumer1726
      @stanshumer1726 Před 4 lety

      @@tcsupreme9222 Fighting is just...fighting. There is no game to speak of. More specifically, a hook is just a circular punch, a jab and cross are straight punches, etc... Strikes delivered to the body can vary as well. At the end of the day, they're all just strikes traveling in different lines and angles. Boxers just happen to be better known for throwing hooks more than most traditional arts. In summary, you can't suggest exchanging and defending blows to the body or face is a boxers game. It's just fighting, and there are infinite ways to do so effectively. All I'm saying.

    • @DarkLordofTheSith69
      @DarkLordofTheSith69 Před 4 lety +3

      Ok but a boxer doesn't know how to stop a double leg takedown ..he's showing you how to defend the first punches then I will shoot for the double leg take the boxer down and choke him out ..a boxer is only effective when he can strike ..when he's on the ground they panic when they realise your a boa constrictor and are about to choke the life out of them..and just to make a point I usually land a few punches first while having the body scissors I've even tapped boxers just from a body scissors before I even go for the neck or limbs..boxing good but you need to know all aspects of fighting because if u can't stop a takedown it's useless

It's easy, you just go into a Boxing/Thai Boxing gym and try to beat them. Don't worry, they will not kill you. :) They will wake you up.

    OK guys., usually I don't spend time on negative shit, but as an athlete of Judo, BJJ, Boxing and karate, also a winner in EU championship in Pangkration (Oldest form of MMA) I have seen things, and it's OK to show to people how it is "supposed" to defend yourself.
    BUT I want to say some things to people who only know martial arts from this guy or internet generally (it's just acts mostly, theater, to show df angles of a fight)
    N1 It's a joke to compare df arts
    N2 it's a joke to be sure to make same things to df conditions in life
    N3 I can understand what's fake, and what's not but for many of who never have fought or trained u think it's real.
    And one small advice. There is no Magic in this things, it's a raw reality, even Tyson in his prime could be beaten on the street, because of many many reasons (not ready, bad lighting, drunk, small mistake bla bla) and so him and so you too and so me.
    The only thing that can decrease (not 100%) you losing on
    a street fight is great physical training, make sparring so your body and head be ready for handling atacks and know how to fight back correctly.
