  • WHY WING CHUN IS THE BEST | Defend a boxers Jab using Wing Chun
What to build your Self-confidence? Start now: bit.ly/2GDOyYA
Wing Chun martial arts master teaches How to defend someone pushing you. Real Martial Arts Master teaches students to destroy the Boxer, Muay Thai fighter and Wing Chun fighter using basic headlock defense.
    Hi,
    Master Wong here.
Let me ask you some questions…
Do you want Self-confidence and are you ready to improve your health and coordination?
Wouldn't it be awesome if you could get rid of fear and learn to defend yourself? What if you could instantly download Wing Chun into your brain? These are questions I used to ask myself as well.
Just imagine if you had that Wing Chun Kung Fu skill, what would you do with it? Would that instantly change your life and health for the better? Unfortunately, Wing Chun Kung Fu isn't as easy as inserting a cord into our brains to download the information like the Matrix. You'll have to find a good Master if you want to learn correctly. Even if you find a Master that could expedite your training, it's going to take years to hone the skills that you envision.
Talk about "Wing Chun Kung Fu overload" . . .

Master Wong is modernizing Wing Chun and making it useful in real scenarios. The foot work, hands above the head, head dodging..
This is the way I believe Master Wong should focus how Wing Chun should be applied.. more sparring with closer to real world scenarios.
I want to see actual contact, pressure situations, and how to handle it.

This isn't what would be described as "Authentic" wing Chun, but Master Wong's version is evolved with wing chuns principles.

"If it doesn't work in a ring, it will never work in real life."
There are a great number of things that work in a real life defensive situation that don't work in mutual combat, where the other person is expecting a fight. The person wagging their finger or even weapon inches from your face is going to be pretty easy to pass and then throat punch, stab with your own knife, shoot with your own gun, whatever the situation calls for... you know, things that don't work in a ring. I've never fought in a ring but, I have had to put a few people into the hospital in actual defensive encounters.

Against an untrained opponent... you will win.
I used to train Ying Wu Kwan, based on Wing Chun, I used to think Wing Chun was the best form of self defence but to be honest with you, it's pretty much useless against someone who is trained to fight like MMA. I always used to wonder how to defend against a boxer. There is no defence, you might deflect a punch or two but you will get boxed in the face, hard, maybe Master Wong would stand a little bit of a chance but I doubt it would be as easy as he is making out. I think there is a reason you never see Wing Chun or any kung fu in the ring or on TV having serious competition.

PLEASE TELL ME MASTER WONG . WHY DON'T YOU PUT A BLOCK WITH YOUR RIGHT HAND AGAINST YOUR OPPONENT'S RIGHT HAND ???.BY NOT DOING THIS, YOU END UP IN AN AWKWARD POSITION WITH YOUR OPPONENT ALL THE TIME . THIS PREVENTS YOU FROM USING THE CORRECT POSITION IN WING CHUN KUNG FU . IF YOU MOVE A LITTLE TO THE SIDE AND MAKE A RIGHT BLOCK AGAINST THE OPPONENT'S RIGHT HAND, THEN YOUR OPPONENT WILL BE IN AN AWKWARD POSITION AND COMPLETELY OPEN TO ANY COUNTERATTACK. THE SAME PRINCIPLE ALSO WORKS AGAINST THE LEFT HAND OR FOOT , THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE .

You are very correct. And it was for a reason; without gloves, the center is more open. Modern boxing evolved from over-sized gloves, the punches becoming more "rounded" to get around the padding. The stances changed without threat of take-downs or center pressure [or kicks].

I think Wing Chun could be vulnerable to boxing in that Boxing could defeat it with ANGLES...Obviously we would not just be defending from boxers jab....Also boxing footwork maybe superior to Wing Chun at getting the weapons to the target & also boxing may be better in defence because with the elbows out in Wing Chun the body is made more a target than a traditional boxing guard.. Having said that, in the street a fingerjab to eyes would have greater RANGE than a boxing punch & is more decisive. Jesse Glover (Bruce Lee's first student) even in his 70s had an incredibly powerful fingerjab & a boxing guard was no defence against it...Jesse was so non telegraphic, fast & powerful with it that he would just ROCKET over the top of the boxers guard.

@@walterevans2118 Boxing definitely has better angles but Wing Chun has Kicks. Again the angle are a recent phenomena in the grand scheme of events because Boxing itself once kicked wen it was formerly known as Pugilism. To many people are looking at the modern state of affairs and throwing wild claims around, when we only have to go back 100yrs and Boxers weren't so quick to screw with the Kung Fu guys. Were Boxers weak and gay back when? The popular belief is that they were hard as nails compared to modern Boxers, so whats happened?
I think in the next Decade we are going to see a resurgence of Tough Mutha Fucka's coming out of the Traditional Arts, its already happening, and all these loud mouth kids regurgitating Joe Rogans MMA crap will be spewing double talk denying they ever made bad claims about Traditional Forms

The boxer is throwing all sort of punches. This is just to show the practical way of dealing with all of punches. There are a lot of different type of fighters out there. This is just one of the type. And in my opinion, Master Wong's intercepting method is effective. His interception is very hard. He doesn't just block, he actually hits your punches away.

The problem here is the same as always: your partner isn't a Boxer. He uses your Wing Chuns footwork and that's why you can't run away or go in and stay in and do what you want. The thing is, even when your partner demonstrated some realistic attacks, you almost couldn't do anything, specially what you wanted to show us you can do, you couldn't do that. And again: your partner isn't a Boxer. Here is the very same problem as in your newest video (defend a jab and hook): you try to beat a Boxer in his own game. It will not happen.
So what the title says, "Why Wing Chun is the best" is wrong. Your Wing Chun is the best Wing Chun, but it's not the best.
    Peace.

Why not. Are boxers super human now moving at Super sonic speed? Have they evolved their basic 3 shots to the point of God mode? Do they move so fast that my feet can't move and they confuse the mind? Sounds wonderful

This isn't wing chun. He basically used boxing principals to respond to the boxer.
Almost every block he used is very common in boxing except using the forearm to block the jabs (not illegal in boxing but there is a boxer that uses something like a bong sao to block InComming jabs). Boxers tend to prefer to block jab cross with something that's similar to a Pak Sao or they like to slip or duck under. But they do not reach out at the punch to block because that creates an opening. I wouldn't use the foreman to block punches like that and he sacrificed alot of distance performing that as well.
Boxing is all about creating angles. This is why you see boxers circle around, pivoting, slipping, rolling under punches and even blocking them because it all creates angles.
But again he uses boxing principals to respond to a boxers jab. This isn't wing chun. 96 PERCENT OF THOSE BLOCKS are not wing chun. Yes even the bil Sao can be used in boxing.
