As Detroit Red Wings hockey waits until Saturday to return, we help pass the time with an exciting interview!
Tune in as we're joined by Sebastian Cossa, Grand Rapids Griffins goalie in the AHL and Red Wings NHL hopeful. We discuss his career path since being drafted by Yzerman, Draper & Co., his time in the CHL & ECHL, thoughts on Trey Augustine, playing with Kasper, Edvinsson, Berggren, Mazur, Johansson, & others, his thoughts on the best music taste in the room, & lots more (4:45)!
When we return, we discuss the potential agreement between the CHL and the NCAA & how it could change the landscape of NHL prospect paths (& why Hockeytown fans will wish it happened before Rasmussen came in (35:25). After that, notes on the Bedard and the upcoming Winter Classic (44:20) before updates on the Hockey Canada charges, salary cap relief, Makar, & more (47:20).
Next, a bleak update on the Arizona Coyotes, a Phoenix land purchase that didn't materialize, moving to Salt Lake City, Utah, & other possibilities (51:10) before notes on McDavid & Edmonton's streak ending & the PWHL coming to the LCA (1:00:45).
All of that & lots more before we take your questions and comments during our Overtime segment (1:10:50) - enjoy!

Guys, keep doing this podcast as long as you can. No words can describe how fortunate we all are to have the Winged Wheel Podcast guys there 😍 Edvinsson, Wallinder od Johansson next, please :)
Interesting that Cossa and Mazur had similar answers about the player not being talked about enough. Another great interview guys, really enjoy these.
Aa a tendy and life long wings fan I am SO PUMPED for Cossa and Augustine. I hope they can play together and become great buds and have just absolutely wild stats as a tandem. LETS GO RED WINGS
Seems super grounded and intelligent for a 21-year-old. Nice to see him open up in this format and excited to see him soon in Detroit.
The game on March 2nd got moved to 3pm
Another great interview guys!
OHHHH WHOAAAA OHHHH OHHHH OHH
Got to meet Cossa at the Draft Party, very nice guy. Been watching him grow in GR, hope he continues to get better and better. I love his competitiveness, and his work ethic. LGRW 🐙 🏒 🤘
I love and hate the Flying Toaster jersey. I was born in the 80s, so I love the Flying Toaster. The players were born in the 2000s, so I feel old when you can tell they don't get the reference. haha
That Cossa interview was awesome! I hope we get to hear from more prospects in the future.
On the Coyotes: The one thing we've learned in nearly 20 years of this whole thing is this. If they can escape danger, they will. Question is, will they? Regardless of where they go, expansion is still coming.
Let's go back to Detroit in The Western Division😅.....BTW, I live in Winnipeg
holy fuck.....I like
First
Negative
i'll never understand why every podcast has to open with ten minutes of advertisements good lord
The timestamps in the description will lead to the first discussion, bypassing the WWP Night info.
Is it an advertisement? It’s an announcement about an event
Augustine will start more games in the winged wheel than Cossa, you heard it here first
Actually didn’t hear it here first. Many people have said this since the world juniors.
@@tristanmcguire4820 well I said it before then 😂
I disagree.
@@IceNinja2007 to be clear, I hope I’m wrong, but I think Yzerman may have missed on this one, especially since he had the chance to get Wallstadt. Obviously, I want the team to be successful, an am not rooting against him by any means
@klompsauce Cossa and Wal have, within margin of error, the same stats in the AHL this season. So I don't know what point you're trying to make?
