This and the 2nd gen Eclipse are my FAVs and this Eclipse along with the last Lancer Evos are the last Mitsubishi’s I truly like. None of their current cars are to my liking.

My favorite was the 3rd gen. I've owned a 2g, 3g, 4g in the past, and the picked up another 3g recently, I liked it more than the Scion FRS I had even. For me the 3g had the best build quality, felt the best handling.

These numbers are horrible and nowhere near the stock potential of this car. 0-60 can be done in 5.6-5.7 seconds and 1/4m in 14.3 seconds.

They didn't launch the car right and upshifted early. Probably to stop wheelspin but these are sub 6sec and 100mph+ quarter mile all day long.

One of the last Mitsubishi cars. The 4th Gen was not a bad car. It should have been a 2.0L turbocharged AWD instead of that 3.8 V6 FWD hardtop. The Spyder should have the V6 engine. It mostly look like the 2nd Gen then the first. The 3rd Gen was horrible looking but the spyder version was good to have with the inline 4 turbocharged.

No, y'all had the turbo four cylinders for the first two generations. People like me got to enjoy V6 smoothness and refinement for the last two generations lol. Want turbo power get an Evo, that was the choice when new lol

I was a teen in the 90's when the turbocharged 4s was in the Eclipse and Gallant VR-4. In my 20s in the year 2000s we had The Lancer Evos and the V6 Eclipse not a fan of the V6 but I took a inline 4 Eclipse and converted into an Turbocharged AWD coupe. That's how we did it back then.

      @@ericbritton9346Well I added 2 turbos to my 6G72 V6. I hate 4 cylinders..

Ngl keep the v6 but they should’ve like made it a rwd or awd then it would’ve been very impressive and reduced the weight too.

I would agree with the 3rd gen being bad, but I actually think the 4th gen Eclipse was a major improvement at least when compared to the previous 3rd gen. It became more mature so the refinement and interior space/comfort increased but without sacrificing the performance at least with the GT model with the 3.8L MIVEC V6, and the handling was competent as well. It's the torque steer that really hurt it because of the strong torque. If it had AWD at least as an option then it would've been even better.

@@crazyjkz I've owned a 2g, 3g, and 4g, and the 3g was actually my favorite so I bought another and currently own it. 3rd gen by far had the best build quality and in the spyder option was the best looking Eclipse to me. The 3rd gen was the odd one out, closer to the 3000gt/Stealth with its 6g72 engine.

They were not that bad, but overshadowed by the 1st and 2nd gen who had way more potential with that 4g63 engine. That, and it's a darn shame they never made an awd version of the 3rd en 4th gen.
