- Volvo is on a serious roll as of late. What started out with the excellent XC90, has now trickled to the smaller XC60 compact SUV. With an innovative new triple charged powertrain, a gorgeous interior packed to the rim with tech, amazing semi-automatous self driving capabilities, and elegant styling, the latest XC60 takes everything you loved about the big XC90 and packs it into a smaller package. Those of you who can swing the higher cost of entry for loaded trims will be in for a treat.

Bought my 2012 C30 new and it has never gone back to the dealer once for warranty work. Best reliability I have ever had in 55 years of driving.
Serge Vivier cause it’s got the 2.5 i5 those motors are bulletproof and sound and perform amazingly. Always been a fan of Volvo’s i5 engines sad they ditched them.
I always considered Volvos to be a boxy, boring car that old folks drove. But watching your video changed my perception. So much so that I test drove a 2020 XC60 T6 r-design and loved it that I turned in my Infiniti Q50S early and picked up the Volvo!
I agree that the T6 r-design is the better option of the three models. Just over a month in with the SUV and I love it!
Looks great but I wish they hadn't abandoned physical controls. In my opinion HVAC and some other controls should remain actual buttons/switches.
Humans have evolved beyond buttons and switches. In time all physical interaction will be eliminated and we will rely on pure telepathic controls. Removing all buttons/switches is a necessary step to achieve that objective.
Just had a chance to drive XC60 for a week. The entire multimedia system, combined with HVAC and steering wheels buttons is a one big fail. The system frequently crashes, sometimes in the middle of the drive taking several minutes to reboot. The lack of dedicated dials and screen for HVAC operation takes too much clicking and your attention away from the road. The built-in navigation is mediocre, providing poor detailed instructions for getting on freeways or merging, leaving you guessing what to do. Even simple things like switching between AM and FM stations take a lot of screen clicks.
No dedicated dial or hangup button on the steering wheel...and etc. I could go on and on.

My mom has the XC 90 T8 and since everything in our town is so close together the 18 mile range for the electric Motor is actually really good and she gets 60mpg on average in town and gets gas only about every 3 months. Highly recommend this car!

I test drove the 2019 XC60 T8 R Design and I love it more than the
2019 Jaguar iPace and the Tesla Model 3. Instant power in performance mode like the pure EV and no range anxiety. Out of fuel? Just pull into a gas station.
I do agree that the complexity is higher for something to go wrong.
I think this is a fantastic XC60, and it looks beautiful. Interior is nice and over all does have a Swedish look. But I’m too excited for the RDX A-Spec. Can’t beat the SH-AWD!

I wish you showed more the awesome roads you drive on. I keep telling this but I've never seen much of the road. It's more of a road + dash view. Road *only* for a.maximum of 2 minutes would be so cool. You're talking as it is. 🙂

In curious...Are the seats in the XC-90 any larger than in this XC-60? Front seats to be specific.
I love this SUV but can you imagine out if warranty reliability with a supercharged and turbo and! Hybrid engine.

Great Review Sofyan. I feel like this interior and the MB GLC are best in class. The peformance seems really good for a hybrid. I agree with you that if you are buying brand new, the t6 inscription is a better deal.
glc is def light years behind this. Fit and finish on the GLC sucks. Hope youve had a good last 3-4 years !

What happens when the battery is fully discharged do you lose the four-wheel-drive capability? You stated in the video that there is no driveshaft the rear wheels are driven by electric motor only.

My first pick in the compact luxury SUV category, especially in the T8 trim (the Outlander PHEV is spoiling me). Granted Volvo hasn't quite nailed reliability yet, but it is no Chrysler or Tesla. However as a luxury soft riding SUV for 5 it is hard to beat, Volvo 1st class seats, beautifully appointed interior, stylish exterior, safety systems to the point of OCD and in T8 trim gives sedan-like fuel economy with AWD functionality.

I test drove a 2017 model in Kenya. xc60 - 700km.. and I'm sold felt that i did like 50kms only. Nice car... one unassuming SUVs. Happens that my preference is white cars or silver... I like clean cars and white means clean. 🎉going fir a white when ready to get. T6 xc60 looks much better the xc90...same ingine displacement

These things are nice! Especially the interior. But at this price range, I think the powertrain in the XC60 isn’t as premium, though. It doesn’t matter that they claim that the 4 cylinder has high out torque and power for its class. It’s not as smooth as a 6 or 8 cylinder. Doesn’t sound as good either. And with all that trickery to get that small engine to make power, I don’t think it’ll be reliable for the long term. But moving to a modular engine platform allows Volvo to cut costs there in order to spend more on things like the interior.

I bought this Volvo in March and was never told it has tires that CAN NOT be repaired. You see there is foam in the tire to make it a quiet ride. So when I had a slow leak in one of my tires I paid 270 dollars for a new tire. Then I had to go back and pay 600 dollars more for the tire coverage and was insulted by them saying that I should have bought the tire coverage in the first place. I told them no one ever told me that these tires were unrepairable and they said "Sorry". This is a leased car and I have it approx 5 months. Now I still have to wait 45 days for this to take affect so my car will probably sit in the driveway for most of the duration. Thanks Volvo
You mean patched? There's no way to repair a tire. You can patch one which gives you the ability to drive slowly to the nearest tire shop, but it's not recommended you drive on one for longer than 60 miles.
@@justinkaufman495 There's no way to repair a "quiet tire'. They have foam inside which would have to be removed to patch it and no one will do that. Never again. I turned in that Volvo and bought a Lexus.
Volvo 😍❤️ but LOL I do agree, I hate the gear shifter its a bit annoying when you want to change gear quickly I actually prefer the ordinary mechanical shifters / if I want the electronic shifter I would either pick BMW / Mercedes or even 2018 lexus LS electronic shifters.

I might be commenting to this pretty late but this might be a reflection on what I find in a lot of your reviews. You seem to compare the luxury vehicles to the same auto companies Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and occasionally Lexus. I understand if you have a preference but it's seems to forget there are others out there that you overlook in the American market, Cadillac, Lincoln and Infiniti. For example I prefer the look of the Lincoln and it's been updated recently, but you'd never know based on the attention you've given it.

Mike Morales said exactly what I was thinking. All the stuff on a loaded luxury car like this might be fun for a while, but won't be so fun when you start paying for repairs. As soon as the warranty runs out, you may as well take it to junk yard to be crushed!

Just got the 2019 version (non hybrid) of this car!
Ditch the hybrid and give me a super/turbo charged 5 cylinder, lose the weight and a few thousand off the sticker that comes with all that hybrid crap and I would buy one.
