    I love the review, and am always happy when they're longer. Thanks! As for the car itself: The more you review Volvos, the more I feel that one is either a Volvo person, or one is not. I can't get past the obtuse ergonomics. The daily annoyance of living with them would neutralize any affection I might have for the aesthetics and the engineering. A learning curve is one thing. Putting form too far ahead of function is another.

      I think they've reached a little too far with their obsession for a clutter-free cabin. I few more buttons would help immensely.

    Hey Steve. Excellent Honest Review. The lack of quick charging, short ev range, and smaller fuel range seem to totally rule out the T8 version. I am still am impressed with the overall interior design. However, I hope Volvo updates the computing/boot-up time for the Sensys system pretty soon.

    Around Halloween I'm going to rent one of these Swedes to sneak up on and spook unsuspecting pedestrians with ITs whisper-quiet ride. The difference is, I will wear a clown costume. People used to love clowns, but these days, for some reason, are terrified by them. Thoughts?

      @@TMS5100 - No you won't make it up in gas, but you're probably getting a tax credit, federal and state, of over $8,000. And the satisfaction you're hurting the Iranians, the Venezuelans, and Putin. Plus the performance of a sub 5 second acceleration to 60 mph.

    • @TMS5100
      @TMS5100 Před 5 lety

      @@777Outrigger tax credit can only be used if you have a tax liability of that much. it's not free money. if you don't have a tax liability of that or more, then it's wasted money. there is no state incentive in WA for the xc60 t8. federal credit on the xc680 T8 is only $5k. the hybrid system only delivers marginal improvement over the non T8.
      T6 is still a better deal as it has a superior AWD system that can send far more power to the rear than the T8. the T8 also suffers from torquesteer, due to the 300+hp being sent through the front wheels. it's a baffling design decision by volvo. they should have done the reverse.

    • @777Outrigger
      @777Outrigger Před 5 lety

      @@TMS5100 - I pay more than $8000 in taxes. I think most people interested in the XC60 T8 do too. However, I have decided to wait for the all-electric XC60, since Electrify America is stringing up 150 KW charging stations on the interstate at a rate of about 1 per day. And since the Polestar 2 comes with the ability to receive a 150 KW charge, meaning about 225 miles of range in 30 minutes of charging, it's fair to assume that the all-electric XCs will have that too. I think all-electric is the way to go.

    75 percent of new Volvo owners drive off in one of their SUVs. Honestly, I hate that stat. Their newest wagons are fantastic and stylish. The sedans are fantastic and stylish. The SUVs are nice, don't get me wrong but sedans and wagons handle better and the wagons have very solid functionality. Volvo knocked it out of the park with the new interiors. The thing is, they're not fresh anymore and Volvo will have an updated XC90 out in 2022. They've set the bar high and they have big expectations. I don't see how they can deliver but hopefully they will. But Volvo, work on the 4-cylinder engine. It needs to sound better. Volvo can sped up Sensus but they're going to Android auto software next generation. You can see that in the upcoming Polestar 2.

      Turkish people generally prefer to buy SUV models from BMW and Audi brands. I think the Volvo XC60 T6 is a better option in our country with the price and the facilities it offers. I also noticed that people were too much interested when I was driving around. Turkish people are buying only BMW and Audi because it is a brand. Just showing off.
      If I look at the specifications of the Volvo XC60, I like this car because we can get more favorable specifications such as air suspension, ProPilot, AWD systems, material quality and features like this.. In Turkey, you will pay a lot more money if you want to get these features in competitor vehicles. So it makes sense to get a Volvo XC60.
