My name is Christian Swenson. I'm a 29-year old autistic man with interests in philosophy, art history, and all sorts of things. that initial definition of autism is what my depression tries to convince me I am - a conceited and selfish person totally detached from reality with no regard for others. It's really not a very nice or accurate way to think about anyone...

Well to be fair, they were pioneers.
They had to be wrong so that we could understand what is right.
I will speak for my own understanding because I disagree with most of the agreed upon shitsoup.
My definition of autism is:
A mental prison created from physical dysfunction of the brain.
There exists different levels of dysfunction in the brain which explains the autism spectrum.
My definition of schizophrenia is: a mental confusion brought about as a result of someone's existential dissatisfaction.
Autism is inevitably forced on an individual by their environment.
Schizophrenia is a survival instinct created by the affected individual in order to cope with imagined stress.
I say "imagined stress" not because the stress isn't real but because there's no lions running after us. But in many ways we give more value to the stress we imagine because we think there's nothing worse than:

Why would we think there's nothing worse than losing a job?
Those are imaginary stresses that we feel so very deeply that we become schizophrenic.
We started as imaginitive, if not shamed out of it, into pessimism, passed off as logic, in part? Yes this is also how in #manifestation #colonialism is perpetuated, too?
