  • You heard me right, this is a whole meal you can cook in the dishwasher! No, we didn't go crazy - yes it might sound absurd, but what do you have to loose? If you think about it, really think about it, the dishwasher is basically like a giant hot water bath, so all those foods you eat sous-vide, this is actually very similar in terms of technique. Now there are some important food safety tips and tricks to getting this right - the most important being to have sealable glass jars so you don't get any soap in your food, so be sure to check this out before you start throwing your dinner in the dishwasher.

They should of fed the food to someone else who didn't know it was cooked in the dishwasher and asked them if it was good

Why are most of the comments hate comments on this channel. To all the people saying she is lazy, she clearly stated she was testing if it would work or not. To all the people saying its disgusting. You can choose not to put any soap in and take out the dirty dishes, or you can try the sous vid method in your BATHTUB.

Think og it this way. As long as the water doesn't get inside of the container, it's actually a very innovative way to cook your meal. And it saves water, and power... so it's much more eco friendly. Than to use plenty of water to boil it, use the stove to heat it, use multiple pots to have the different types of food in. And you get to wash the rest of your dishes at the same time?

Just make sure you tighten the lid as tight as you can, and don't use the 2 piece mason jar lid, use the one piece lid. But if you still don't want to do it in the dishwasher, you can do the microwave, just remember to take of the lid :)

Honestly I am not sure if I will try this. It wasn't really how strange it all is that was going to stop me, but at first I thought "why bother?" seems like a weird thing to do, just cook like normal. But I guess if you had never seen a dish washer and didn't know what it was for, someone telling you that you could cook in this device that was in your kitchen wouldn't seem that strange.
Its still a maybe for me, but might be useful for like busy mums who can just clean the dishes and make a meal in the same time.

Are there any types of food that are better suited to be cooked at temperatures between 50-70°C, which is the normal working temperature of a dishwasher?
By 'better suited,' I mean foods that will retain their quality and taste for a longer duration.
In the dishwasher, the cooking process involves a mixture of steam and hot water from the spray arms, which is different from cooking in pots on a stove.
Maybe cooking with these temperature help reducing food waste for some type of food?
    🤔

Even though Brandi recommended to make the berry compote, I don't eat a lot of ice cream, so I think the beans would be best for me.

For all of you saying it's gross,
You clean your dishes in the dishwasher!
The dirty water touches WHAT YOU EAT OFF! So the mason jar food is actually cleaner then those plates if you ask me
