Benjamin you are right if we could go back to the past. Today August 2022. When I use the email for recovery I receive the code when I entered the code opens another window asking for the phone number. I inform you that I no longer have access to this number. It opens another window saying: "Call premium customer care" this service is not free. the other option "Visit our Free help site" here there is no help on. I got the code and it doesn't work. Do you have any tip?

Password recovery is never a problem until you have an email that the recovery mail is no more active and there is no phone number. Usually e-mail address created from 2001-2003 is the issue when it comes to recovery.

This is excellent for if you can't recall PW, but for me, Title doesn't fit that specific situation. I am looking for, & thought, this video would show how to change password b/c time to make a change or, as in my present situation ➡ b/c one of my contacts was hacked/I replied to the hacker/want to protect my email. I am using firefox on iPad IOS / NOT using Yahoo App/am using Classic Yahoo mail version/am ALREADY IN my mail account/ went to hamburger lines, but "Manage your account" not listed as an option. Yahoo doesn't prompt me for a password since I activated the Account Key a while back. Even when I click Having Trouble Signing In or Forgot Password, it won't prompt me to create a new password, only send verification keys. And when I go under the Security Settings, there is no option to change password.
You may need to turn off Account Key activation in the settings.
If you go to the link below you should be taken to a page with 3 +plus signs. You'll want to select +Manage devices or disable Account Key and follow those instructions.

If none of your recovery options are working then your only options is to contact them. Yahoo doesn't have a contact number but since ATT and Yahoo are partnered, occasionally you can get away with calling ATT to help you with your Yahoo password. Good luck!

I reached the stage to insert a code for Yahoo recover sent to my telephone . Unfortunately another window is automatically placed on the screen; it is a "save" window. I am using Safari in mu MacBook Air. and do not know how to proceed. Perhaps I need the telephone # to call a Yahoo tech ?

I decided to clear my cache last week, thinking that it would help my computer run a little smoother but ever since then I've been logout of my email and I cannot log back in for anything!
I have contacted Yahoo and they have been in contact with me through my Gmail account.
the only way that they will reopen my Yahoo mail account is if I can give them three different email messages that I have sent in the last week or two... The subject line and the email of the people I was emailing in those messages and... They want to know my full name and... They want to know the names of three folders that I have in my Yahoo mail account.
Well first of all, I was able to give them my full name, duh.
secondly I have only sent one email to a friend in the last week, and before that I have not sent anyone in email in about 10 years.
as one knows, people don't really use email to keep in contact with family and friends anymore.
I mean sure, some people do but the majority of people do not; social media like Facebook has been used for that purpose.
so, I send them my full name and I tell them that I have only sent one email in the last week and I told them it was too my friend Aphrodite and it was an email from Culver's that was for a free birthday treat.
I also gave them the name of three folders that I could actually remember which is amazing because I haven't used folders in my Yahoo mail account in about 10 to 15 years, or more.
we went back and forth about three or four different days with them asking me the exact same questions, telling me that without the proper answers they couldn't help me.
I got so aggravated and so frustrated I wanted to pull my hair out and scream.
I realize that their security is strict and strong and that's great but, I gave them each and every answered that they requested and they still could not help me.
I offered to give them my driver's, a copy of my driver's license, my social security number, my home address, etc etc etc.
They still refused to help me and they have offered to allow me to create a new account.
I do not want a new account because I've had this account for about 20 to 30 years and I have all my contacts and I have all my emails all set up to come to this one email address.
I really really really don't want to create another email address but I tried this afternoon and for some reason, it will not accept my phone number as a valid phone number!
Seriously, what the f*** is going on here?!?

I’m on ipad and at 2:56 it doesn’t say create a new password it just says success and continue
You'll have to go through the email settings instead to reset the password.
From there you can hit continue and it should log you into the account.

Unfortunately if you don't have the access to the recovery options listed. The account is unrecoverable.
If you dont have the option 'change password' You must first disable the key (look for light gray wording disable). Yahoo makes it difficult so they can profit. Best of luck.

It's only going to allow you to recover the account with whichever options you setup with it. Any chance they are giving other options besides the phone, like a recovery email address?
This does not work. There is no “create a new password” option. Only “continue” exists as an option after you enter the code.
That will just log you into your email.
Once you’re logged in, you can still reset your password, you’ll just have to get there a different way.
1. Begin by logging into your Yahoo account.
2. In the top right-hand corner of the screen, click your account name and picture.
3. From the drop down menu, under your name and email address will be ‘Account info. Click this.
4. This will open a new window with various tabs on the left hand side. Find and select the ‘Account Security’ tab.
At the top of your window, click the blue link that says “Change password”
This will still have you authenticate the account. Once authenticated, you will be able to set your password.

We were baffled. “How could there not be a password reset option within account security?” we thought. We tried 3 different browsers too. It was never an option. It might be a good idea to remove any saved passwords for Yahoo and start fresh. Typically these get saved each time, making it easy for you to select old, not working passwords

Yahoo's 2 Step Verification allows you use your phone to login instead of typing a password each time.
The only problem is that you have to use this method every time, unless you turn it off in your account options.
Which means, unless you are already logged into your email on another phone or PC where you can get to your account settings,
then you won't be able to make those changes.
Sometimes we forget other devices where our email might be logged in already.
Check all the devices you use to login to your email and see if you can get to your account settings.

I know Yahoo was down in some locations and it might have been affecting your area, have you since tried again?
Also, are you positive you're checking the right email? Since they block out a portion of the email Yahoo could be sending it to another address very similar. Think back on any other emails you may have that may be similar to it.
If you're still having issues, you may need to clear out your browsers cookies and cache. Check out our site and search "Clear Cache" for instructions on how to do that whatever device or browser program you're on.

You're only option with recovering the account would be to contact them if you have no recovery options.
Or if you can figure out what the current password is. Looking on other computers or devices where your info could be saved would be a good place to start! They sent me a verification code. I entered it. Then a window popped up saying uh,oh, we ran into a problem. I'm assuming that means yesterday they locked me out at 3:15 for 24 hours because they said I tried to recover my password too many times. I'll try after 3 pm. Does this sound right?

@@HelpCloud No luck. They send me s verification code. I enter it. And then it says its redirecting me to retrieve my password. Then screen shows whats your ID login and last name. After you put that in ,it days your account is locked for 24 hours because you made too many attempts. 🦧WTF??🤯 I tried to search Google for Yahoo help. I did that. It says chat now with yahoo tech. They ask you whats wrong. Then they ask you to subscribe $$. ???
Yahoo.com is holding my E Mail hostage! When I try to login; it says that it don't recognize my E Mail! I created my Yahoo Email 30 years ago and now suddenly locked out! Can Yahoo.com really do this to me? I thought your E mail was yours to keep regardless of who your IP???
I would triple check that the email is exactly the same, however I'm sure you're not getting the email you've had for 30 years wrong but it's still good to check. If your're positive you have the correct email address, then unfortunately that means Yahoo's Server has lost your email. They shouldn't be purposefully doing that, it's most likely because of an error on the server. Unfortunately however, because a Yahoo email is considered a free email, they offer no way to contact them for support.
There are still a few thing's you can try, if your computer has stored your information then there still might be a chance to get back into it but that's only if it's been saved before. We have a great house of technician's that can take a look and give it a shot if you're interested!

Sorry to bother but I think the email itself has been deactivated since i haven’t been using it for a long tome... how can I retrieve it then..?
In those cases, the account has been removed. However, if they really have removed the account then you can at least re-create the same email address. You just won't get all your mail and contacts back.

As per yahoos terms and conditions. If you don't have access to either recovery options. The account is unrecoverable.

no code is sent to my email recovery account. tried several times and of course you cant add phone number to get the code
It asks me questions like in which hospital was I born and when I answer it it says it is wrong
Security questions are case sensitive and want you to enter it exactly how it was saved when setup, try it with/without capital letters if you haven't already and do you your best to remember how you think you would have typed it originally.

I recently did the same and recovered my account by resetting the password, however why i logged into my account my inbox was empty...why is that this is my 18 years old account and had tons of emails...
How long was it before you logged in again?
