Hi. I'm Max Dalton, and in this video I'm going to talk through how to change your Yahoo password.
Any account you have associated with an online service is susceptible to getting hacked -- and Yahoo is no exception. Hackers who break into your account will have access to any sensitive data associated with your account, and also sensitive information that may exist in your emails. And once they get their hands on that information, the damage they can do is substantial. If you have a Yahoo account, Yahoo makes changing your password easy. Consider changing your password every 90 days, and make sure you use a strong password that consists of a healthy mix of letters, numbers, and special characters.
And now, the steps to change your password on Yahoo.
Step 1. Open a Web browser and navigate to yahoo.com.
Step 2. Click "Sign In" in the upper right corner of the screen. The Yahoo Sign In screen appears.
Step 3. Enter your Yahoo email account and then click the blue "Next" button. Enter the password associated with your Yahoo account on the next screen, and then click the blue "Sign In" button. You'll return to the Yahoo home screen, where you'll see that your name and the picture associated with your account appear in the upper right corner of the screen where the Sign In button previously was.
Step 4. Click your name or profile picture that appears in the upper right corner of the screen to display a context menu. A list of Yahoo accounts associated with your Yahoo profile appear in the menu. Click "Account Info" beneath the specific Yahoo account you want to change the password for. A Personal Info screen appears.
Step 5. Click "Account Security" in the list of options on the left side of the screen. Enter the username and password associated with your Yahoo account again if prompted. You'll arrive at the Account Security screen.
Step 6. Click the blue "Change Password" link toward the top of the list of options in the Account Security screen. The Yahoo Set a New Password window appears.
Step 7. Enter your new password in the New Password and Confirm New Password fields, and then click the blue "Continue" button toward the bottom of the window. A new window appears, notifying you that your password has been updated. This window will also contain information associated with any recovery emails or phone numbers associated with your account, and you can also choose to add another recovery email or phone number to your account.
Step 8. Click the blue "Looks Good" button after updating your recovery information.
Congratulations. You've successfully changed the password associated with your Yahoo account.
