I've done that several times and it takes me to verizon yahoo and there's no info on verizon yahoo to answer any security questions I have had this email since 1999 and it's my small business email and I can't access it for over ten days, frontier bought verizon in california and they won't help and frontier will only help with frontier emails

I have a new phone number and no longer have my g-mail account, so I am unable to get into my mail, which has me royally ticked off!!! I just keep going 'round and 'round and 'round in circles and unable to find ANY freaking help!!! Every single time Yahoo asks me to sign in, they reject my password so I would have to ask for another via my OTHER phone, then enter their 'key' to get in. Weeks later when I'm again asked to sign in, I TYPE IN THE EXACT letter key THEY GAVE ME LAST, but it comes up invalid. Now I have a new phone #, but don't see ANY FREAKING WAY to change it. So, I guess I'm screwed out of my FREAKING email forever. WHAT A STUPID, FREAKING WAY TO HANDLE THINGS!!!!!

I want to revert back to a real password and not use my device with text to access my accout. I am using QuickBooks and when I go to send email it ask for my account password which I don't have it is a damn device text code sent to me. This didn't work for me. Where you get the two boxes "Continue" and "Create a new password," I only get the "Continue" box, no option to create a new password... (?) :o(

Due to Yahoo's Terms of Service, they don't provide a way for us to recover the account without access to recovery options, unfortunately.

Typically you'll get this screen when there are no recovery option's for the account. Most likely that's why you're receiving this error. If you're confident you had recovery option's setup then occasionally the account may be stuck in a reset loop. If that's the case, try again after leaving the account alone for a few day's and you may have luck at a later point. Good luck!!

"Trouble signing in" is not there. You must have missed some steps when you made this video.
This video is a bit older, however, it does still say "Trouble signing in?" currently on Yahoo's website. Maybe double check the site and be sure you're not visiting the Att.net site.
So using your password isn't a recovery option . It should be the main option and all else used in case of a back up.
They do this because if you do not know your password, It is no longer a valid recovery option. If you have 2 step verification on. You can turn that off in the settings. Did I understand your comment?
They should have where you try the password first then if that fails, use the recovery option. I had it set to use an account key on my phone when I was using my phone but it's broke. Only way to get it is by switching phone with the same number. I'm lock out of my account til then.

Hello!
Why are people still so caught up in there being a number and uppercase and who knows in the future a character from another language? These characters to all hacking via brute force at least are the same as any other character. The only thing this does is possibly help someone from being able to walk up and type your password in with a few guesses. When it comes to algorithms the only thing that adds security is length of the password and NOT complexity. This is a major contributor to people just outright forgetting what their password is and thus losing accounts.
For example. Let's say there are 64 characters on the keyboard for you to choose and with caps there would be I don't know off the top of my head but add 26 to 64 to get a total of around 86 possible characters.
For a:
1 character password there are 86 possible passwords
2 character password there are 7,396 possible passwords
3 character password there are 636,056 possible passwords
and it goes on and on...
Obviously it will take anybody a lot longer to figure out your password if you simply have any choice of 8 or more characters for each character you add than 3 characters. Putting your password say as onceabluehorsejumpedoverthefullmoon is infinitely more secure than M%s_28. Which one are you more likely to remember?

Yea and not knowing your old phone number is the problem that most of us have and there's no other option.... it just says sorry and thats it... and when u call and sit on hold for 20 minutes you get hung up on, 3 different times! Underneath the "success continue" box. It may be smaller text and should say "change password" Click this option and it should forward you to creating a new password for your email.
No it does not say that - this i srediculous that you cant find how to change a password.

Thanks I managed to sort it. I had enabled some sort of security key option. I had to deactivate that to get the option to change my password. The problem is thta none of the Yahoo tutorials / help files etc that I could find mention this. Exceptionally poor from a major company like yahoo

Unfortunately if all your recovery options are gone you wont be able to get in.
If the email isn't a free email like Gmail or Yahoo and the company that provide's your email has a contact number you can try calling them to assist you.
