đWhat are your favourite books? âą 200 book recommendatio...
đ Do you have a book club? Yes! You can join it here for free: fable.co/club/reading-with-th...
đ Have you written a book? My life goal is to be a published author and make a living from writing and I am using this year to gain experience, build up a portfolio and work on a book with my agent. I have just finished the final draft of that book, as you can see in this video. I did self-publish a book about bullying when I was seventeen which is available on Amazon (amzn.to/3mdJKLm), but I'm slightly embarrassed by it now!
đ Do you have merch? I don't have merch in the traditional sense (I can't imagine selling something with my face or name on haha!), but I do have a stationery company where I sell planners for students. These are all designed with students in mind and follow models which I've used when planning my studying. Our products are printed in pastel colours on recycled paper: bit.ly/3wgsR85

This vlog is an ode to friendship. Itâs also a nod to growing up. Someday your bedroom at your parents home will also feel both beloved and remote. Congratulations, you are navigating adulthood with grace.
why will that be remote. wont the house pass down to ruby?
†"Blakley is my closest friend, my favorite person!" What beautiful words! đ
Ruby thank you for saying if you donât have friends now you will in the future. I needed to hear that. So glad you have each other as best friends and that you had a wonderful time. Xx
I love videos like this between you two.
When I was young, I had dreams and worries.I feel the richness of my life because I have best friends who can share them and enhance each other.
It's a lovely time for you and Blakey to have tea and chat over snacks.Oh, I'll call my best friend like that too. Then we'll lie down on the grass reading, and stay up all night chatting with cookies and tea!â€â€
Dear Ruby, loneliness is a feeling, and being alone doesn't necessarily mean that you are lonely. I believe that being with a few people with good quality is way better than being with many toxic people. I enjoyed the trip with you, it is so calming. Thankyou and Love you the way you are.
Nostalgia, no matter how long ago something was, is a powerful thing!
Ruby, I feel like I've never seen you so happy! I'm glad you have found Blakeney. Your friendship is so beautiful. Sending hugs đ
A life with a special person is a life well spentâ€
or special pets
Try to keep up your friendship, I know my best friend for 57 years now and believe me it keeps getting better because you have mutual history.
What a blessing, to have a friend with whom you can visit old castles and share books! :)
Yeeep!!!
đąđą
Ruby, you are right to say that even if a person does not have any friends now, does not mean that they are not going to have friends in the future because you never know. You might meet a new person whom you like and shares the same interests with you. Blakely seems like a very nice girl whom anybody can make friends with.
OMG! A book vending machine?? The best thing ever!
A memorial plaque commemorating Penguin Books founder Sir Allen Lane is located at Exeter St Davidâs railway station.
The orange plaque, commissioned by Sir Allen Laneâs daughter Clare Morpurgo and designed by Penguin Random House, recognises Sir Allenâs contribution to British publishing and commemorates the location where he conceived the iconic sixpenny paperback.
Friendship like this is so pure and so priceless.
So happy to see you enjoying time together â€
Love the book dispenser. If memory serves, Penguin books were partly inspired by the absence of portable reading material at Exeter Central railway station, a few minutes away from Exeter St Davids.
l graduated from Exeter decades ago and my lovely housemates from that time are still some of my closest friends..We really treasure those ties. I understand what you mean about returning and it feeling dream like. The same and yet not the same. And we are all the same and yet not the same too. Time and life has passed, yet the common experiences we shared and the things that made us all friends in the first place still hold true.
Friendship - the jumping together of the human heart and a relationship where silence shared is more powerful than words xxx
Lovely vlog! Even cried a little. Friendship can create such an empowering feeling! But that makes it hard when you canât enjoy that feeling.
Absolutely loved that you said that everyone deserves a friendship, because I couldnât agree more. And to everyone reading this while feeling lonely. That was me a few years ago. But wait a few years and you will be surrounded by gorgeous people. Just because youâre shy, introverted or insecure, doesnât mean you donât deserve a beautiful friendship. Believe in yourself! â€
A vending machine for books! Something I never knew I needed until I saw it. Wonderful! Looks like you had a lovely getaway with your friend. Thanks for sharing!
What you're saying about friendships is exactly how I feel, I would love you to speak in a video about how you made your friends, how you approached them and got close đ„°
"It's the way you approach it with optimism", yes, that's Ruby!
One of the loveliest videos you have ever madeâ€
What a lovely tribute to your friendship!
Ruby and Blakeney vlogs make me so happy! Your friendship is wonderful. â€
Thank you, Ruby! You give me hope for one day finding true kindred sprits in friendship again.
I am in no way jealous but it is so good to have close friends like you have. I donât really have any friends like that where I live and tend to be the youngest person at most places I go to especially church. Keep working at keeping these friendships they are a blessing to be able to have friends that get you and you get them xx sending love and hugs x
Your videos are always so inspiring and calm. I've been following your channel for a while now, and it has kept motivated to study.
Iâm so eager to watch this, for some reason. Nostalgia, probably.
Beautiful video of a beautiful friendship. Lovely to see you in Exeter again, Ruby. I imagine that brought back many memories. I was around the city over Easter, but missed you, probably, only just. I live really near the cathedral. Thank you for your inspiring vlogs. â€xx
This is just the loveliest video and your enthusiasm is infectious. Thank you :-)
Ahh thank you so much!
The rain creates a new lense to view the world thru. A cleaner clearer fresher one . I love it xx
this is such a lovely perspective!
This video made me smile. You look genuinely happy and relaxed here.
I absolutely adore your friendship â€ïž
ruby you are very wise in ur young years and i love the friendship you have with blakley!
Oh Ruby it's so nice to watch you grow âș
Oh this vlog is gold đ„° thank you Ruby I needed to hear those words
wow Iâm so early, Iâve also been subbed to your channel since 2017/18, youâre so inspiring Ruby, i hope you know that, you inspire me to study and learn and enjoy learning the things that i learn, your channel is also very entertaining in general, Iâve watched all of your videos
I felt that when Ruby talked about buildings etc telling stories and going back to a place you once knew that's the feeling I get everytime I go back to my hometown
I'm visiting London soon for the first time since moving back home after studying/working there for 4 years so I think I'm going to have similar feelings as you here. So nice to see you having fun with your friends Ruby, look after yourself in Oxford
Your thing about friendship, totally got me and I fully agree, had no real friends at school and now I have such a great best friendship like you and Blakney have, so yes, friendship will come, you just have to find your people which you will, maybe you just have to look somewhere else
It's wonderful to have a best friend, especially at you age, enjoy it as much as you can! Unfortunately people can grow apart (especially in their 30s) and the person who once was your best friend can turn their back on you while you are going through very difficult times. And so the friendship ends. So much sadness and disappointment. Hope this doesn't happen to you & your friend B.
It's always nice to go back to see what has changed or what hasn't changed can't believe it's 2 years since you left you spent 4 years studying there I I remember your first video at Exeter
Itâs lovely to see a special friendship in action, what a great vlog Ruby xx
This scenery makes my heart sing â€
Such a gorgeous vlog, your videos are a real confort
How amazing everything was in this video is just pperfect
Youâre my favorite bookworm!
What a fun trip! You both are lovely, and I love the joy and beauty you find in everything. You've inspired me so much to travel and read more literature. I'm reading Jane Eyre now. How lucky you are to have a best friend, who is like a sister, with so many common interests. Your videos are such a relaxing pleasure to watch. đ
You two are so similar to each other, almost like twins haha. It is a dream to have a friend that is basically another version of yourself.
This was so beatiful đ„șâ€
Ruby, u always can make so wondenful video ! thank u and love it !
This is one of my favorite videos of yours Ruby! Your friendship with Blakeney is beautiful. â€
This is a gorgeous video! I was at Exeter University some years ago and made magical friends who became my favourite people. Thank you
Absolutely beautiful vlog, Ruby!
Love your friendship!!
This vlog feels like a time travel â€
Such a beautiful and professional editing and filming my friend. Love it
this video made me cry. iâve gone through and am going through the same thing. iâve been bullied in school. every friendship i made ended somehow - my first best friend had to go out of town ans we lost contact, my second best friend turned out to be a two-faced manipulator who spread rumours about me and turned all of my classmates against me, causing them to exclude me for years and thus becoming the reason for my trauma; and, my third best friend and i mutually decided we were better as just friends because of a misunderstanding as a result of a communication gap...sheâs still a good friend of mine. but often i think that she is not. I fear that this one and only friendship that I have will come to an end like all the other friendships I've had soon. at one point, i also convinced myself that my own company was the most enjoyable and i don't need any friends. But then I realised the void of lonliness that is growing inside me. Now i remind myself that hope is never lost; and that, perhaps, thie friendship that I have won't end, and that if it does, I'll make friends in the future...
Nice rubyy. I love your videos and they are sooooo inspiring
Ruby what an amazing vlog! So heartwarming! Makes me want to make a big hug to my best friend đ„č
I loved this vlog so much, your friendship with Blakeney is so beautiful â€
I've lived in Exeter my whole life, and I always found it interesting seeing places I recognized on your channel
oh how wonderful!!!!!!!
hey Ruby, you are soooo amazing, love your vedios so much, enjoy your days!
i love a true friendship
âšâ€ïžVERY LOVELY â€ïžâš
Nice to have friends isn't it Ruby , it's a good video. I think I'm going write a story about friendship. You inspire me Ruby. Bless you much đđđ
Such a beautiful and joyous video! You and Blakley are truly cut from the same cloth.
BRB asking Penguin Randomhouse to put book vending machines in the US; that's so cool!!
Hi Ruby, I love your videos and so pleased you came back to Exeter exploring the beauty of the Devonshire countryside (my favourite place is Haldon Belvedere I walk there at least once a week to clear away the cobwebs). Iâm thankful each day that I get to live here x
We all just need, that one person... â€ïž
Such a nice video! Really enjoyed it xx
the English countryside is so beautiful. It looks like a scene from novel or a movie. The picturesque scenes makes me nostalgic even though i've never been in England or other parts of Britain. thank you for this video.
I agree. I am from Canada and while we have some amazing nature here, it just feel very "wild". Whereas the English countryside feels like it speaks so many stories and has coexisted with humans for a very long time. Also the rolling hills make for an almost dreamlike setting.
It's so amazing to have a best friend! my relationship with my best friend Liza is almost the same! I totally understand you! It's so amazing to have a soul mate! For me finding friends is also a complicated task...
English landscape just makes me smile! It leaves me speechless every time I see it in your fabulous videos! Thank you so much!
I recently read The Miniaturist (found it in a second hand bookshop called The Books in Warsaw over a year ago) and one of the many cool aspects I found was how you could see that the main character did not feel in control of her own story, as if there was an author (the miniaturist) knowing what was going to happen next!
Books, are my life !
este es uno de esos videos que te llegan al corazĂłn đđđ
How wholesome this was!! I thoroughly enjoyed watching along đ
Thank you for joining us! :) xx
Loved this vlog â€
the people who say if you dont have friends there is a reason you dont are the same people who bullied people for being ''weird'' in school, those people can never be alone and dont know who they are when not surrouned by their ''friends''
I know it's a little early, but happy birthday Ruby!! đ đ
When?
@@ioanagrancea6091 Her birthday is on May 17, but lately she's been taking about two weeks to upload a video, so I wanted to congratulate her beforehand.đ
Thank you so much for the answer! So nice of youâ@@user-sp1nb9bb1w
Kindred spirits! â€
Yeyy I'm early! Btw, hi Ruby. I hope you have a great week! đâš
Beautiful!
Adore you Ruby. I feel so lame in saying but you are a fresh flower, opened with curiosity drawn to the light. â€
this made me cry đ€§
Now I want to visit Exeter! I graduated college 9 years ago, but doesn't feel that long...still have dreams about it. LOL I love visiting New Orleans though (where I went to college). I've visited since I was 8, since I have family there. Lots of nostalgia! :)
The Minaturist is one of my favourite books enjoy x lovely friendship vlog
They say we can count our true friends on one hand x. Btw thanks for the memory of messing about in a red telephone box, 10p for a short call and somewhere to shelter from the rain, back in the 1980's lol!
How has it been two years? Love the book vending machine. Our county library now has vending machines in several places througout town and the country.
Oh my goodness I thought I saw you. I was walking by the cathedral with my daughter but I convinced myself it wasn't you. Also cake or death is amazing I love their brownies x
Accomplishment and success often comes with a toxic impulse to believe oneself universal. âIf I can do it, you can.â âI found many friends easily; you arenât trying.â As if skill, community, and timely luck is universal, which couldnât be farther from the truth.
Omg yess the body by bill Bryson is such an amazing book, so cool that they had it in the vending machine !:)
Most people will find their tribe at some point. Also some people find it difficult to make friends if they have social impairments. Not everyone is the same. Iâm glad you have Blakeney.
Love this vidâ€
"I solemnly swear to be faithful to my bossom friend, for as long as the Sun and Moon shall endure." Anne Sherley Cuthbert
The hotel looks amazing â€
Points for Miss Granger. đ
It's so lovely to see you have such a wonderful friend. Unfortunately for me, I'm still how you used to be. I personally still struggle to make friends and connections, even as an adult. I hope someday that I will be able to meet someone who I can call my best friend.
i didnt have any friends at school or university, i spent all my time at uni locked in my halls bedroom, while my flatmates mocked me inthe kitchen and called me weird, i have ocd and social anxiety. also now i am 34 and still have no friends and am bullied still an outcast, but i dont care i am happy alone, i have my cats, my dog and my little garden flat surrounded by flowers and trees
Lovely vlog xx
I love this one so much. I am wondering, do you also journal to document glimpses of your life? Or do you rely merely on filming yourself and your special moments?
