✿ Guys I LOVED making this video, I hope you all enjoy watching it!!
All your videos are so upbeat without being smarmy, cutesy, cringey or too sweet. You remind me to love life and be grateful for all the little things we have surrounding us everyday.
This is such a nice comment ♥️
I feel the same way! :)
Beautifully said. 😍
thank you for teaching me a new word; smarmy.
So true!!!
As someone trying to slow down and live more intentionally, watching you get so excited about such small objects brought me so much joy. You are inspiring me to make an event out of the little things. Thanks for this video!
If you buy an antique frame but dont want the photograph, put the one you want in front and leave the other photograph behind, you still keep the photograph but have what you want showing.
Great idea!
I saw a wonderful video of someone that bought an antique painting and added in small scenes from their favorite book,or video game, or treasures.
Then when you feel need to change, much like you did in this video, take out the replacement picture and see if your feelings have changed for the original. Sometimes it's just a wrong place wrong time thing. A different time in your life, maybe a new experience is wrapped up in the way you see it then.
@@marshawargo7238 could be perfect for spooky season 👻
@@marshawargo7238 I change mine seasonally and buy new art pieces to fit them. Haha
I can't be the only one that wants Ariel to do a mug tour of her mug collection! And I would love if Ariel did a video on her nail polish collection and how she keeps her hands and nails so beautiful while doing construction! Perfect homewares sponsorship and ethical nail polish sponsorship!! Please Ariel!!??? ❤❤❤❤
Yes pls
Yes to all these ideas!
@@thetheatricallinguist yea!! 😁
I was wondering the same thing! Does she do her own nails? They are always beautiful!
The pressed flowers!!! How sweet and what a special memory you'll both have :)
Also highly agree with having little dishes around for your small odds and ends. My mom gave me this beautiful heart-shaped crystal dish a few years ago when my parents were moving and I use it on my night stand for this exact reason!
The flower frame in your tiny room diorama? I would squeal!
that is where i was thinking too
Genius
okay actually obsessed with the paperhouse postcards, that's so fun and creative??!?
There isn’t another creator on CZcams whose aesthetic I enjoy more! Your decor is so thoughtful and creative, and I thoroughly enjoy listening to you and watching you decide what to pick and where to place it. I always leave your videos with a greater enthusiasm for continuing the process of curating my own home.
The flower pressing was too aesthetically pleasing❤❤❤
The beautiful, tiny vase next to the even tinier vase on the mantlepiece is just so cute...
I knew I wasn't crazy! Somewhere in the back of my mind, during all your house reno videos, I was like "But Ariel is scared of antiques!". Stuck in my brain for many years, maybe as it is such an unique fear haha. Loved the video btw, as always, they always feel like a treat :)
Quick note...the reason the silver pitcher had not be "polished" was because many folks prefer to keep their sterling plated items tarnished. Im thinking the seller chose to leave the "shine" preference up to the person who purchased it. I agree, i love your tiny picture next to the flowers! Lovely job my dear!!!!
Agree, I love the aged patina of the jug, is it silver/pewter or tin? I couldn't tell.
We have a connection. We gut renovated our 150 year old home and kept it true with hidden conveniences. My style is Eclectic Maximalist Relaxed Victorian and a room of Dark Academia. Like you, I feel we have not decorated our home, rather it’s curated. It took 20 years of antique stores, estate sales, flea markets an such and selected each piece. We both inherited our parents things which were from the era where you pass things down to “keep it in the family”. It’s been such a joy but we’re done. Time to just enjoy. We love it.
When you fix the jug, add a bead of gold paint along the crack like they do in Japan. You accentuate and embrace the repair (kintsugi). Love all your fun finds🥰
It’s impossible to not get caught up in your enthusiasm and sheer joy for life! I’ve never seen a video of yours that hasn’t made me smile. You are a gem!
Ariel! I'm the bookseller Sarah you met at Gower Street lol HELLO and I completely forgot to recommend you Wifedom by Anna Funder if you hadn't already got it - it's about George Orwell's wife so very Ariel coded. Was on my floor but my brain blanked till after! Anyway this video was v cute
Omg Sarah hi!!! It was so nice to meet you ♥️♥️
Ariel please test for lead paint! You can get a cheap swab kit at home hardware. better safe than sorry, and its not like youd have to get rid of them if theyre positive but you'd want to wash your hands after handling :)
The placement of the small frame 🖼️ IS ACTUALLY PERFECTION!
this was the wholesome video i needed today
The fact you didn't get that duck is a tragedy! I was obsessed with it!! What you did get is beautiful though, I always love all your videos!!
The silver jug is silver plate! I recommend Wright's silver cleaner paste for an environmentally careful, and easy to use product. :) Love your treasures. :)
Am I the only one that envisioned the little flowers frame as a fake door peephole? Like when Alice in Wonderland looks through the lock and there's another world.
That is a magical idea!
Love this!!
Yes! There is definitely a book to be written inside that little door ❤
I have been antiquing my whole life so this haul is absolutely adorable to me. I love gathering small items on my travels to have little glimmers of memories all throughout my home. 💕
I love how you genuinely enjoy the things you put in your house! The genuine excitement you express over all your things makes me love them even if they aren’t my style!
If a little thing can bring one person so much joy, it is worth being cherished!
The fact that you are so happy with such small things is Lovely.
I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this video!! I really loved the silver little pitcher as soon as you picked it up in the shop. I was surprised that the duck didn’t make the final cut as I was sure it would, lol. Anyhow, your videos are so fun. There’s often some cuteness and sweetness without being cloyingly so. I really enjoy and appreciate your uniqueness in everything you do and really love how you fully embrace you! Your style of decorating and the style choices you make are so fully representative of you, and they work perfectly. I’m often left thinking how your choice of placement of an item or color choice make perfect sense and look marvelous. You’re so intentional with your choices and I love it. The way your house is coming together is such a representation of you and that is exactly what a home should be! Cannot wait to continue watching your journey in more videos. Thank you so much for sharing and “hi” from Brooklyn, NY 👋🏻🗽🚕🏙🥯🍕🙂
I know I loved the duck too!
Your final vase reminds me of something l did as a small child. I entered a flower show. But my entry was a dolls house vase with tiny red flowers in it. I got a highly recommended certificate. Definitely the smallest entry ever!
Woooooo! Thrifting with Ariel!! Or rather antiquing?
Edit: THE LITTLE VASE WITH THE LITTLE FLOWERSSSSSSSSS 😫😫😫😫😫😫💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Similarly, I used to be afraid of totem poles. When I was a kid we saw the Tiki Room show at Disney World and I was sitting very near a decorative totem pole when all of sudden it started moving and singing, totally freaking me out! I did not like seeing or being near totem poles for a loooong time after that. So long, that I forgot the Disney Tiki Room. Eventually, I got over my fear. And I only recently connected it back to the Tiki Room when I went there with my own kids and the totem poles started singing again ha.
This story 😅
Your pink strawberry depression thing is called a “celery”. They would serve celery at dinners from them! I use one of mine for a pencil holder too!
I found a wooden box that latches like a chest made to hold kleenex boxes and I love it because it gets rid of the ugly cardboard necessity that is a kleenex box. Highly recommend.
love your obsession with tiny trinkets, love the hint of dog in this video, and would love to see some gardening content if you're up for it!
You can use Kinsugi to fix the broken jug, it makes it even prettier and empraces the flaws.
The tiny pressed flower moment over the mantle is perfect. I love it!
I think you are a nascent collector of wee pitchers. LOVE it!
Came here from Clare’s video and so enjoyed your joy in small things. I love that blue and white jug! 🇬🇧
That pink IKEA jar would look cute filled with flowers too. On a window sill. I love colored glass on my windows sills. Makes the rooms glow.
Glad you had a wonderful trip and get better soon. 😊
That small glass frame 🖼️ would be soo good in the mini room, then it’ll look like a full sized photo in the miniature room hehe 🌷🪻🌹🌺
Always a good time to watch an Ariel vid!
The blue striped jug is beautiful, it is intended for cream rather than milk.
Ariel, your videos are just the happiest little snapshots of a life lived intentionally delighted by things. So much of life focuses on the bad, the harmful, and the painful, but the way you choose to invest in tiny delights and reap such joy from them always gives me so much hope. Even above your home, your knicknacks, and your taste, your deliberate joy is the most wonderful thing about your videos ❤️
Love the Pressed flower idea. My friend & I are traveling to Quebec City. Celebrating our 60th Birthdays! Your depression glass piece is an open sugar bowl, smaller jugs are both creamers & thé repaired piece is a juice pitcher. Treasures non The less🙂
The bouquet of bookmarks is so cute on the bookshelf!
I love doing the dishes and listening to Ariel talking about her adventures. 😄
I was an undergraduate at York University over 40 years ago. York is still my favourite city even though I now live across the ‘pond’. I felt homesick watching your video! I love your little treasures. Hope you feel better soon.
I can't explain in words just how much I've enjoyed this video. It has inspired me to do a long due decor update in my flat aswell and also just the way you view things, appreciate them, create tales. What could be a seemingly mundane object or a task, you manage to see a spark in it and make this magical art.
This was so much more than just buying a few materialistic things and the end. The whole process of searching for the right trinkets for you and than restoring them, truly appreciating them in it's full glory and than finding the ever so fulfilling right spot for them in your beautiful home was just so aaaaa. :) I love it!🌸🌺
I was going to cry if you didn’t buy that vase. The flowers were so perfect for it!😊
I used to get so upset about breaking things like that pitcher, but I started keeping kintsugi supplies around to repair anything I broke. It makes me feel better when I can make a repair!
This was adorable. I love how thoughtful you are in curating your house. I hope the door troubles are resolved soon!
I love big mugs, i cannot lie! Those Queen Elizabeth ones were to die for! 😍
Ariel, would you ever consider the challenge of making period time clothing of the same year of your home? I think it would be fun to see what you come up with.❤
Fun fact! There are such things as antique and vintage tissue box covers...for both the rectangular and cube boxes! They can be quite beautiful. ❤😊
Aww amazing! I live in York and it's weirdly comforting to see such familiar sights lovingly depicted in your video. It's a small city so that hardly ever happens on CZcams. Glad you had a successful trip!
I have NEVER thought to have a container to hold bookmarks! Thank you so much!!!
I have a lot of antiques and have found and found copper polish works more quickly and easily than silver polish. Soaking old white ceramic pieces in milk can sometimes cover up the cosmetic cracks that can appear over time.
I dearly love what you did with the pressed flowers! What a wonderful memory you created in such a simple way that you can view everytime you go into that room.
omg that vase at the end was PERFECTION!!! cutest thing ever
you should totally have some jugs with flowers on the book truck!
That mini flower frame is perfect for your mini room, too!
your peach shirt and the yellow bedding in your bedroom are so amazing 😍😍✨
i visibly gasped when i saw how cute the flowers looked in the bone china mini vase at the end lol. miniature items are to die for!
The tiny frame would also be so cute in your miniature display :)
I lived in York for four years, I was a student there, and I never went into the antique shops. Walked past them many times though. And this really made me miss the city.
Oh please please please collaborate with Shannon Makes! I think you two could do some very fun DIY, repair and antique house stuff.
The small blue vase is STUNNING!
Love your finds. Ariel, I loved the silver vessel a lot before cleaning !!!!. lots of character! Love the little tiny frame next to the larger one. Yes, eclectic we are! hope you feel better! Cheers
Ariel, you have the best laugh! Thanks for sharing a bit of your trip, glad you had a nice time.
I see what you mean with the little framed flowers having conversation with vase flowers. And that little one you added at the end onto the mantle piece - sooo cute!
Your nails matched the baby's breath in that final vase! I love a goof thrift/antique trip and haul - wonderful! ✨
York is such a gorgeous place to visit. Unfortunately when I visited it was rather wet. Looks like you were luckier than me!
Glad you got to go to Betty’s. The pianist playing whilst you sit drinking tea and eating scones takes afternoon tea to the next level.
It looks like you had fun on your trip. I love how you curated all your treasures to display in your beautiful home🖤
I think the mini frame would look great in the miniature nook too 😊
I just love all your antiques, but that little blue and white jug is just the sweetest thing!
I also love knicknacks so I'm biased, but your joy for these lil guys was SO contagious!! 10/10 video
You're such a joy to watch. Your delight in the world is contagious!
Ariel this is not exactly on topic but I need to beg you for a jewelry tour PLEASE!!! I am a forever lover of your ring collection but your earrings and necklaces are so beautiful and i am obsessed with them all
That’s a bummer about that little jug! However, think of the Japanese art of Kintsugi! Just because it broke, doesn’t mean it’s little life is over or worth less. It can still be mended and loved! All these trinkets are so wonderful 💛
Ariel you need to do a video making a cute fabric cover for your tissue box! I am a chronic allergy/sinus problem girlie but the tissue box by my bed was killing me. I made a fabric cover and it is so cute and aesthetic now! I was inspired by the Alice Palmer ones but I’ve also seen more vintage styles you might love! I’d love to see you DIY one in your style (or source a cool vintage one if you find one you love)!
Thanks for sharing your thought process Ariel. I I love how how meaningful even the smallest items are to you. PS.You inspired me to polish up my little silver pitcher, so thanks for that!!!
Ariel, this video!! Such a sweet, joyful and delicate moment. I love how you are always excited by these small changes and improvements that could be so easily overlooked. I, too, love to collect random little treasures and place them all around my space.
I also have to say it, you look incredibly gorgeous. I loved your peach blouse with the earrings and the way you put your hair up, simply enchanting 🥰
Always brightens my day if Ariel uploads a video ❤
I have an entire shelf full of broken ceramics that I want to fix. Might finally get started on that 😅
That jug is do beautiful! 'In conversation with one another' and your dyi with Claire. All so precious and inspiring
Lovely, All of it. You are so fun. I think the depression glass two handled jug may be for spoons. My grandma set the table with a knife and fork and put the spoon jug in the table if you needed one.
Your liveliness is contagious. I feel so happy watching your videos because you just love everything that you do. I want to be this content with my life like this one day.
I went to York last year and I absolutely loved the shops you also went! I found some lovely things there. Also the little picture frame with the pressed flowers would be such a cute hanging wall decor for your little room on the wall! *.*
Always lovely seeing your videos!
Susana
Those items are amazing. And now I’m totally inspired by the unexpected art placement. What a great video.
OMG! I love everything you got! The little vase is my favorite and I love it with the miniature carnations on your mantel! Be careful putting it on a shelf near your front door. If some shuts the door hard and the wall shakes, you don’t want it to fall off. I do think the mini frame is in fact having a conversation with the flowers in the vase below it on the mantle!
omggg i remember from your studying abroad vlogs when you and claire first got that chocolate shot!! and how shocked and amazed your reactions were 😂 time flies so fast it’s crazy!!
Your hair looks so pretty!
I love how delighted you are by life, it is so wholesome and the joy you bring is infectious!
You could make a little cover for the tissue box in the bedroom! I know TheSorryGirls have a good DIY for that, but I'm sure there are lots available. That way, you can always have tissues, and they'll always fit the vibe
So beatiful. Bonito, muy bonito. Me ha encantado. Cosas tan delicadas y perfectas. La última jarrita con las flores ... Ah precioso.
What a precious friendship! Thank you for sharing ❤
The small.pitcher at the end is gorgous! Your pink tea roses in it really is beautiful.
I just love antique decor, furniture, etc. and I love all the things you got and the places you put them at. They look so beautiful.
The miniature jug for milk is so pretty!
My favourite part was you squealing over how cute everything was 😄
😂I love your enthusiasm you remind me so much of my granddaughter and I love all the things that you do
I love that little diy flower piece it would be so cute to do a 3D mini gallery wall with random objects omg! Or a miniature mantel moment! also love the vibrancy of your hair!
The little flower frame & the little jug with flowers in on the mantle piece go so well with taller vase little house & tiny vase by the house the combination of all the items Look Amazing 🌹💐🌹
Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
I enjoyed watching your reactions to things just as much as I enjoyed seeing what you did with your new little treasures. Keep going! I'll keep watching!
