Every Avenger has their signature weapon. Captain America has his shield. Hawkeye has his bow and arrow. Falcon has… a wonderful personality? But there might not be a more iconic pairing than Thor and Mjolnir, his trusty hammer. That’s why it was so devastating when Hela destroyed Mjolnir in Thor: Ragnarok. It felt like we were losing part of the God of Thunder himself!
But the one bright side of the hammer being destroyed is that it set Thor on a path to get a new weapon, an even better one capable of taking on Thanos and ending the Mad Titan once and for all. After a very difficult quest, Thor acquired the mighty axe Stormbreaker and the weapon proved to be one of the most awesome weapons we’ve seen in the MCU so far.
But eagle-eyed viewers noticed something interesting about Thor’s new weapon. Stormbreaker seems to emit blue fire instead of electricity. Why is that? If we dive into Thor’s comic history and his previous MCU outings, the answer becomes pretty clear!
So today’s video is all about Stormbreaker and highlights some of the weapon’s amazing abilities. We’ll be talking about Stormbreaker’s origins and how it differs from the comic side of things, while also theorizing what it means for the axe’s future. So go ahead and check out the video below, and be sure to leave a comment and subscribe afterwards or we’ll turn your hands to stone!

The blue fire isn't Stormbreaker's power, Thor is using it to channel his energy just like he did with his hammer. It glows brighter because it is a larger weapon and Thor has tapped in to his true potential so he has stronger lightning abilities than he did before Ragnarok.

I for one definitely like Miljnior more than Stormbreaker. One of the reasons why is just because it doesn't have the worthy enchantment upon it which means anyone can lift and use it. The other reason is it's just too damn big. You can't twirl and whip Stormbreaker like Miljnoir. Plus you could just lay Miljnoir on and enemy and they would not be able to move or get up because of that enchantment very unique unlike Stormbreaker.

.Thor actually comes from the original god of thunder and fire the African god Shango; this is before the comic books and before Norse mythology in terms of Roman mythology, Thor is an African deity from the African mythology!!

I mean Thor did learn to cast the Odin runes and add his own spells in their love and thunder when all the asgardian children were temporarily worthy when fighting gorr. And he unknowingly added the spell to mjolnir too when he asked it to protect Jane

  • @that.canadian.vaper.guyTCVG

Mjolnir couldn't summon the bifrost. Thor always asked heimdall to open the bifrost when he had Mjolnir. Eitri imbued stormbreaker with the same enchantments he had done with Mjolnir, but also with asgardian dark magic so he can summon the bifrost. The same dark magic heimdall used to send the hulk back in the beginning of infinity war.
That information is concrete but this part I read from an unconfirmed article that eitri had made the infinity gauntlet, so he knew what magic would be able to overpower the infinity gauntlet. So when eitri made stormbreaker, he could have had enchanted it with magic that could allow stormbreaker to bypass the power of the infinity gauntlet instead of being destroyed by the power of 6 infinity stones.
It would make sense, since eitri had created both the infinity gauntlet and stormbreaker, so who's to say that he hadn't put a fail safe into the thanos infinity gauntlet when he had created it?
