When Thanos snapped his fingers and decimated half the universe, a lot of time was spent wondering how this all could’ve been avoided. Would something like Thor aiming for the head instead of the heart, or Peter Quill keeping his emotions in check have really stopped Thanos from snapping his fingers? Or was Thanos as inevitable as he kept saying he was? Actually, the answer could be more complicated than that.
If you chart the entire history of the MCU and look at all the important events that led to Thanos successfully enacting his plan, you could trace everything back to one man: Odin! That’s right. An ongoing theory is that Odin’s actions with how he treated Loki in the first Thor movie, as well as his general handling of infinity stones and the infinity gauntlet, directly and indirectly led to Thanos’s victory. So how does Odin’s treatment of Loki eventually lead to Captain America: Civil War? And how does that event make Thanos win at the end of Avengers: Infinity War? Keep watching to find out!

i tend to think that Thanos decided to wait for Odin's death to act, for his armies never attacked Asgard, where Odin had a possible gauntlet, the tesseract, and the aether. easy pickings for Thanos, except he was careful not to provoke Odin and the Asgardians. so perhaps Odin triggered events that led to events that led to events shaping the Infinity War, but his presence kept the big Meany on his own patch...
Actually, it was Loki who triggered the events of both Thor: Ragnarok and Infinity War when he got rid of Odin and masqueraded as him. Loki also triggered the events of Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War by leaving his scepter on earth.

Mind Stone cursed Thanos with knowledge as it did Tony. Thanos was the only one that knew killing off half of all life would save the universe. I think it was on Titan, it was once his father’s and he saw Titan be destroyed by the Celestials like in GoTG.

At the end of Thor, when Loki was dropped into the collapsing bifrost. Is that where he had found Thanos? If that is the case then it further proves that Odin is to blame. Loki only dropped into the collapsing bifrost because Odin accepted that Thor was better than him.

That first chain of logic is pretty rediculous. Its essentially "butterfly effect" logic. And (im no MCU expert so don't hate) but the theory i like best is that Thanos didn't go for the stones himself until other major powers like Odin and Ego were out of the way

When I saw Hela in the Odin's vault there was an art designed infinity gauntlet which occurs to me, that what if Odin did have all these infinity stones to rule the universe in either arrogant or ambitious way?

A few problems with this theory.
A) I think Loki knew the entire time that he was a frost giant. We learned in Thor 1 that he helped the frost giants sneak into Asgard in order to stop Thor's coronation, to trick Thor into fighting them, and to trick Odin into banishing Thor to earth. No matter if Odin had told him sooner or later, Loki was still going to do what he did in Thor 1 and Avengers 1.
B) If anyone is to blame for the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War, it's Loki. If he hadn't left his scepter on earth, neither Ultron nor Vision would've been created. Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver wouldn't have any superpowers, Sokovia wouldn't have been blown to pieces, there wouldn't be any Sokovia accords, Zemo's family would still be alive and he wouldn't have concocted a plan to trick the Avengers into fighting each other thereby leaving them divided and unprepared for Thanos.
C) Hiding the stones someplace else would be futile since Thanos already knows where each of the stones are hidden. Also, the real Odin would not have left the reality stone in the hands of the collector. He would've kept it in his treasury room along with the space stone because he knew Thanos wouldn't try to get them on Asgard as long as Odin lived.
D) Even if Age of Ultron and Civil War never happened, the events of Infinity War will still happened the way it did because nobody knew who Thanos is nor of his plan to wipe out half of the universe. By the time they do, Thanos will already have 4 of the stones and Dr. Strange will still be taken to Titan where he'll willingly give up the 5th stone. In the end, Thanos will still succeed in getting all of the stones and killing half of the universe.
E) You can't really blame Odin for Asgard not helping the dwarves because that was all Loki's doing. Before Hela was released, Loki has been posing as Odin since Thor: the Dark World and he left all 9 realms (including Nidavellir) unprotected by lounging around doing nothing. It's because of Loki that Thanos was able to forge his infinity gauntlet and enact his genocidal plan.
Thanos's rise to power is due to Loki, NOT Odin.

Yes Loki knew he was a frost giant, however as seen in Thor, even as a child Loki was treated differently AND the real final nail in the coffin was that Odin admitted to Loki that, at first, he saved Loki in order to use him to create a lasting peace between Asguard and Jotunheim. Ofcourse Odin did come to love him as a son, but he never should have told him that. Not a good move by any adopting parent.

I mostly blame Laufey for Loki's entire upbringing. If he hadn't abandoned his own son, then Odin wouldn't have adopted Loki at all.
@@loudboy317 Laufey had to give him to Odin as a peace offering otherwise Odin and the Asguardian army would have taken over Jotenheim and took the entire frost giant race as prisoners. Unfortunately it was the only choice for Laufey to save his realm was to give up Loki, and as you saw, Laufey counted on Loki to allow the Frost giants to infiltrate on Thors naming day as king after truly confirming his origin, however Loki had a change of heart after talking with Frigga, who Loki always loved and considered his true mother.

Asgard wasn’t dealing with Hela, it was 2015 when we first saw Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet, Loki pretending to be Odin didn’t want to deal with Thanos, because he had previously failed him.

Actually, I think we can thank Odin for all of this. Because, if the Avengers hadn't been created to stop Loki, then Thanos would have probably gotten the stones anyway. As we heard from both Gamora and Nebula, it was his lifelong goal to do it. So if there were no Avengers able to go back in time and get the stones, then it would have always been done, and half the universe would be dead.
As to hiding the stones, well thanos would have gotten them anyway.

Well, Zemo triggered a fight between Them, but what started the overall issue was the teams divide on what the world govt needs them to do, which is stay under control... They'd still be together, but they'd be like Avengers 1 where they're are not mentally on the same page

One can argue that Odin and Ego's death gave Thanos an opportunity to gain the stones as characters more powerful then he was taken out of the picture
