my fav entry here is 'non mi avete fatto niente', that's also my all times favourite entry by italy, but my overall favorite entry of this category is 'peace will come' (georgia 2008). imo one of the best entries
Thanks for this topic! Really touching are the songs on this subject, especially if the artist had to face it... Such entries make us emotional and really can help us to be determined to change smth in our lives 🙏💖
Voila, Hatrid mun sigra, Higher ground, Je me casse, Heroes, Spirit in the sky, Stones, Fallen angel, If love was a crime, Yodel it, Discoteque, Don't feel hate, Monsters, Roi, Occidentali's karma, No prejudice ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My favorite one of this type would be Germany’s 1970 entry, “Wunder Gibt es Immer Wieder” (translated: Wonders Always Happen). It is a very positive upbeat song with a Janis Joplin touch to it. The message of the song is even though today you might be lonely without somebody to love, very soon you’ll find somebody to love as wonders always happen. Generally it is a song reassuring the listener that even though they may have had a tough day, better days are ahead.
I just realised that my country (Hungary) really likes to send songs with social messages :D shame we probably won't send more in the near future... Also, thank you for including Discoteque, I think lots of people overlook it, but I love how quirky it is ^^
In some countries gay relationships are banned so it is criminal to be in love with the same sex. I feel the song is very subtle, I'm not sure if it was really the intend of the singer.
@@Vanitas1131 I think she knew what was going on. She has a huge Gay following and she goes to the pride shows. The song was very clever because it was aimed at the lgbtq but it wasn’t in your face, it was subliminal that a lot of ppl wouldn’t have clicked on to what it was about.

Have you noticed you'll get more quality messages from Eurovision songs than the current sleaze that's topping the charts right now?
Nice messages there.. In all of these songs.. But.. I'm not so sure, whether ESC, is the right place to express them....
Such songs find response in audience. I think it is the best proof that such messages are at ESC, the right place to express them 😉
Songs are the best way to express social messages.
Thanks for including the reasons. 😀 😍

I assume that to have been very hard to pick since there are thousands of these entries.

Where is UK 2014?
No Greek entries here... my country always sends shallow songs I suppose.
Utopian Land by Argos was one of my favorite Greek entries and had a strong social message.
@@karenmaedaallman6767 I hate that song so I don't really care.
I still don't quite understand what's 'gay' in 6:05
