OMG WHERE IS UR SHIRT FROM???
Maybe do one of these for colleges in horror movies, I personally went to a college with some haunted buildings in real life, so some horror movies (including Happy Death Day) will take place on a college campus.
Through at my college most of the haunted dorms were for lower-classmen, so I managed to avoid most of the haunted buildings by transferring there as a junior. Talk about a unique upperclassman perk there!!
You should rank horror movies by the year they were released, like "Ranking the Best Horror Movies of 2018"
YES!!
Would love a series based on this. Could even be by decade or subgenre ( slasher, sci-fi, body horror, etc )
👍👍👍
I'd love to see you rank villain/antagonist motives in horror movies.
^ yes!
she kinda did that didn't she?
I'm not sure how this would work but you can do a ranking of "iconic horror movie scenes", like how most famous horror movies are known for having "that scene" that they're known by
I can see what u mean like the opening scene for scream, the conjuring with hide and clap, a nightmare on elm street Tina’s death/ Glens death,
@@Ghostface1998 exactly
I like this idea! I don't want to use this term, but it's like saying which movie has the best "money shot", that scene that gets the best reaction out of the audience, like the kitchen scene from Paranormal Activity 2.
Funnily enough, I can't think of any other really good ones right this second, but maybe the "head spin" scene from the Exorcist, or the scene from The Last Exorcism, where they interview the boy from the coffee shop.
I would add two from the original Halloween. One when Michael tilts his head during the kitchen stabbing, and two after Laurie thinks she’s killed him and he just sits up behind her and turns his head. Iconic!
Like how the mist is known for the ending
Ranking video ideas:
1. Ranking Cheesy movies on their cheese
2. Ranking movies based on true stories
3. Ranking sci-fi horror movies
4. Ranking movies on their grossness
5. Ranking ghosts in paranormal movies
6. Ranking character's backstories
I don't understand why other people don't understand your tier lists. It's literally so straightforward! Great work, Sarah!
You could rank best final girls in movies, rank Japanese horror movies or Korean horror movies or any European horror movie!! I’d love that because I love foreign movies and would love to discover more
yes to all this!
*I love the house from When A Stranger Calls remake*
I actually lived in the manor from The Haunting. It is a college now with dorms. It was beautiful and a lil spooky. Would recommend.
There has to be a story for how you ended up there and why you left lmao
I'm beyond jealous.
Absolutely roasting Oren Peli’s house is my favourite part of this video 😂 (paranormal activity was filmed in the directors house, for those who didn’t know)
you should rank final girls!
The asylum from Grave Encounters is one of the scariest! xD
ahhh yes!
Sidenote, the real Amityville house is still standing and was purchased by a new owner in 2021. The house is stated to have been remodeled in a couple quick articles I found where now it doesn't have some of the same exterior features shown in many film portrayals.
How about the house in “don’t be afraid of the dark” or the mansion in “Rose Red”? Loved them both, beautiful houses, but not very nice entities inside 😅💀
I feel like The Overlook and Hill House would try to eat me but id LOVE to stay in them
Wow, I'd put the Kriticos House as 5-Star Resort because it's so unique compared to anything I've ever seen! I just find it so fascinating, especially the interior walls & set up.
Was waiting for Poltergeist to pop up! That movie still terrifies me
I don't know how you feel about them, but I would love to see your ranking of paranormal TV shows like Ghost Adventures (I can't stand Zak), Kindred Spirits, Destination Fear, etc.
Zak Bagans is one of those people i love to hate. He is just SO over the top. I would also love to see a ranking video on paranormal shows though!
Loved this idea of ranking haunted houses. I feel the same way about the Winchester house. Maybe because I love houses with quirky and unique features.
Poltergeist and The Innocents/Bly Manor would have been perfect to add and rounded up the ranked places nicely to 20 (or 21 I suppose considering Bly and The innocents are fairly different).
How about exorcist 3 too? I totally believe in the paranormal. I've 100% experienced stuff through my 39 yrs sobriety (thanks to aa and still thanking aa for emotional sobriety as well).
@@susanburgess820 I like Exorcist III though it isn’t scary. It’s just good. lol.
@@incognitomcde1360Better that good atmospheric as hell but wouldn't call it a haunted house movie. Burnt Offerings wld be my number 1 Seems after the 70s every decade got less scary than the next and so on .. wish I ws alive then to see some of the classics on the big screen that would be awesome 😍
A couple more that came to mind: The Changeling, Burnt Offerings
PS - I’ve been to the Winchester house twice. I absolutely love it. But I don’t know how much the tour has changed since I went in the 90s. I’ve heard it’s more closed off than it used to be. GrimCollective did a great video there. You should too. Much like you, I haven’t seen the movie cuz I heard it sucked. Still curious to see it…
It’s not necessarily a bad movie, just don’t expect a full on HORROR. It’s slow and sometimes pretentious but it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s definitely not for everyone but it’s worth watching just for the house
my favorite part of this is that danvers state hospital is actually demolished 😂
also it’s very well known that it’s actually haunted. my uncle worked there and they had closed off the entire 3rd story right wing because everyone refused to work there. example: they had cut off all electricity to that wing and the lights would still flicker. and doors would open and slam shut so loud it could be heard in different wings. again, no one was allowed in that wing.
I know they had to be haunted houses but my God, Stu Macher's house from Scream would've definitely been in the 5 Star Hotel tier for me. IT'S SO GORGEOUS!
Haunted houses are one of my favorite genres! I am also obsessed with abandoned/haunted/houses, asylums, etc. I watch a channel called J&M explorations where these two nice people explore abandoned places and I freaking LOVE it. I'd ALSO be game to live in a "haunted" house, or a house with a traumatic history, etc. Atmosphere uber alles!
I don't like that ugly paranormal suburban house either. I'd move there just for the history, but yuk. icky icky looking house.
I would totally live in the abadon hotel and I'd simply die of fear the first hour
I haven't' seen some of these because they were foreign or might've seemed cheezy or whatever but Now i'm gonna watch them just to look at the houses from your point of view. FUN!
So happy you included Allerdale Hall -- a masterpiece of a haunted house. And Danvers Hospital -- I was going to suggest that one but you included it near the end (it's actually luxury apartments, now). Such a wide breadth of material to pull from when it comes to haunted houses so I applaud every one of your choices. Funny thing about the Conjuring house -- the actual real-life house is far scarier than the one we got in the movie. Grimm Life Collective (CZcams) did a walk-through back in October and I got creeped out just watching that. You should check it out. My recommendations are the Poltergeist house. The Evil Dead cabin. The Exorcist house (technically not a haunted house but still creepy as fuck). Balasco House from The Legend of Hell House. The Changeling house. Also, the house from House (1985) is a pretty fantastic haunted house -- probably the most haunted out of them all.
Edit: Also, the Yankee Peddler Inn from The Innkeepers. I've had the pleasure of getting up close and personal with that place -- it's not far from where I live.
The Amityville Horror house is still standing. It sold in 2017 for $605,000. Had a chance to see it back in 1990, but my girlfriend at the time chickened out and wouldn't drive there. You would love the house in "The Uninvited", a film from 1944 starring Ray Milland. It has a dramatic clifftop location overlooking the sea and only two ghosts.
Also worth noting, the town changed the house number and the iconic side of the house with the chimney has been renovated to look pretty different.
@@jacquiz.6837 I was going to add this as well, but you beat me to it. It's kind of a shame this happened, but I can certainly understand why some might not want people showing up at their door wanting to discuss the subject matter.
A tier list idea: Rank the main characters of different horror movies! I think this idea is really cool. Rank them on how likable they are, how quick thinking they were when escaping their horrific situation, and if they defeat whatever danger was trying to kill them. Hopefully I could provide you with a cool idea!
I like this one
The house from casper the friendly ghost was so cool! Not a scary movie, but still a rly cool haunted house!
Or the house in Beetlejuice.
The house in A Tale of Two Sisters (2003) is really beautiful too! You should totally give it a watch if you've never seen it, it's got plenty of haunted house goodness
Would love a ranking of horror TV series/mini series!
SHE SHOULD
The Amityville House was not demolished, but it's "Eye" like windows were removed and it was repainted to keep tourists from showing up.
I feel the same way about 1408 that you feel about Gonjiam Haunted Asylum. Idk why man, but 1408 seriously freaks me out way too much. Even now at 27 😂😂😂😂
Haunted House/ Gothic/Ghost stories are my favorite subgenres too, followed by psychological horror. Yay! Excited about this list!
P.S. someone lives in the Amityville house to this day and haven't reported any goings on.
Agreed. The visuals in “House on Haunted Hill” scared the shit out of me as a kid. Still pretty damn creepy now even.
in 1408, the film, they chose that hotel because it strongly resembles The Cecil in LA's skid row district, where Elisa Lam inexplicably, (unless you're a dismisser), ended up in the rooftop water tower and where a couple serial killers spent some time. DARK WATER has a similar vibe and it excellent in both its Japanese and its American versions.
I need a horror comedy about the ghosts in Winchester House. Sarah can do a seance now and again, but it's more about a bunch of Union soldiers or something who hang out there.
Would love to see a found footage tier list, it's one of my favorite genres and I know you'd have some great recommendations and opinions on it!
What about the AHS locations (Season 1 house, Hotel, Roanoke)
i was just thinking the same!!
Yes!!
I love these tier list videos Sarah! Amazing as always!
Since you included hotels, where would you rank the Hotel Cortez from AHS: Hotel?
And one of the houses in Sinister..
Winchester (2018) was a really beautiful film, and while it was boring and un-eventful most of the time I would love to see you check it out Sarah, I think you may like it! It’s kind of artsy but doesn’t take itself TOO seriously. Great video! It’s also a very beautiful house I would love to go there sometime.
I yet have to see the 13 Ghosts movie because I hear and see a LOT about it. Probably next year...
Also: there's a documentary coming about the murder cases that "inspired" the Scream movies. It doesn't really look like the murder case itself is anything like the Ghostface murdres in scream and to make matters worse: they are following around a spirit medium who wants to contact the killer...
While not a horror movie, the house in the movie Casper is the house that started my love for any haunted/Victorian/old houses.
A tier list for popular final girls would definitely be a great video!
Rank monsters ! Love the content! Keep it up. You're doing great. Congratulations on the baby too!
such a cool video idea !! also, I'm so glad I discovered your channel this year, it honestly made a pretty shitty year a little better for me and I just wanted to say thank you for that
I like the way you rank videos. It's refreshing and different. Keep doing you!!
this was great! might've been asked already but where would you put the house from hereditary? Technically not a haunted house but I think the setting is pretty crucial (especially w the treehouse) and the whole omniscient vibe with the family themes and the miniatures makes it feel a lot like a haunted house movie
Yes please can you go to scary houses/mansions etc near you and vlog I would absolutely love that!
I hope a house of a thousand corpses house is on here!
Edit: well I guess this wouldn’t be a haunted house actually. You should do a list like this but with horror movie houses and settings (house of a thousand corpses house, Texas chainsaw house, the Friday the thirteenth camp, etc)
I love your funky tier videos! It's very nice to see something different.
3 houses that might be a bit outside what you normally do:
1/ Hell House from The Legend of Hell House (1973)
2/ The original Hill House from The Haunting (1963)
3/ Rose Red, from the miniseries 2002. I think this is a good fictional depiction of Wincester House.
I love the way you rank things as its incredibly fun and funny!! ❤️
I like your tier lists. They're a nice blend craziness with your categories and organization. I get a kick our of hearing your opinions 🤣🤣
I would love to see a video from you if you going to the Winchester House! I got so close to being able to go on a tour but the tickets were more expensive than we thought so we just walked around the gift shop and the outside. From what I saw it was beautiful!
If ever in the mood for 80s horror, see The Changling. It’s the scariest haunted house movie I’ve ever seen and this is my favorite genre so I’ve seen lots of them. BTW, Amytibille house is occupied and the current owners changed the look because of all the lookie loos driving by.
ahhh missed you so much queen! every season is spooky season! please rate the best monsters in horror movies e.g reanimator, vampires etc
YES
That jumper/shirt is bloody fantastic.
Love this list, so happy you included the Abaddon Hotel, one of my favourite franchise. I know its not a house/hotel but I was hoping you were going to include the mental asylum from grave encounters!
Grave Encounters is a great companion movie to Hell House LLC!
What movie is Abaddon Hotel from?
@@ChibiProwl Hell House LLC
Hi Sarah! I was wondering if you could make a video about fast-paced horror movies (maybe your top 10?) cause sometimes I just want to sit and get right into the horror. I would love to know your recommendations, and I really love your channel 💕💕💕
Danvers State hospital is now mostly demolished and turned into condominiums. Main building front entrance was kept.
You could continue with your plot related tier lists. E.g. Which fictional camping site would you go to, which horror movie scool, etc.
Which carnival (I just watched Nightmare Alley last night) :)
Love your tier lists. Have a spooky Xmas and a happy new year 🎉
I like your ranking systems :) makes it more fun than just s, a, b, c, etc.
Yess! I have been waiting for this video
This is such a good video idea!
Love haunted houses and now I have some more on my watch list 😊
love your videos so much !
Great idea for a vid! Fantastic
Totally fantastic video of you ranking all the haunting houses in horror movies fantastic job. Do a tier list of horror movies that are based on horror video games.
you should add a special section for haunted houses in tv shows, only put the haunted house from murder house in it and call it “DEMOLISH IT AND BURN THE ENTIRE GROUND IT WAS BUILT ON BECAUSE WE’RE SICK AND TIRED OF IT”
Thank You very much. I appreciate the content you create and share.
Love your tier list videos!
I love your shirt so much!! I need to know where you got it
love love love this series!
if you haven't done ranking horror movie cliches like "antagonist disappears when you look back", "final girl falls down in a chase scene" etc. it would be really funny
Wasn't a fan of the Winchester movie. But absolutely loved Rose Red mini series based on the same house
I loved the movie, series, and book. ❤
I live right by the amityville house! There is a family that lives there, there have been some changes and renovations over the years so it doesn’t
look like it did back then, but it is still recognizable. I would say they’re pretty much left alone by the public. Some cars drive by, but nobody standing around!
Unrelated to the vid but after following you for a long long time from your old main channel seeing this channel grow makes me soooo proud 🥺
omg thank you so much 🥺
Winchester, while not a scary movie by any means, absolutely WINS in dark, brooding atmosphere and a heavy sense of grief staining the entire interior of the house. If you’re into heavy atmosphere and are ok with little to no scare factor, highly highly recommend
When I lived in New Jersey we drove to the Amityville house. At the time the new owner was doing some renovation and did not want company or people around.
Im so glad I found this channel
I love old, historic houses, and when I watch a horror movie I always enjoy seeing the haunted house featured, just for the aesthetics, as horror movies tend to have gorgeous houses (apart from the Amityville House, because personally I'm not into that style.)
I've only seen a couple of the Insidious movies, but I remember loving the grandmother's house, as it was this huge old Queen Anne, and the interiors were all painted in different hues of blue. It was a gorgeous home.
I agree that the Haunting of Hill House home is a stunner...and the Woman In Black...and The Orphanage...XD
As soon as I saw the word ‘Gonjiam’ I immediately screamed DEMOLISH. Had you included the asylum from Grave Encounters I’d also say demolish b/c-unlike the stairs to nowhere built by human hands in the Winchester House-the Grave Encounters stairs (and false exits) appear out of nowhere thanks to Friedkin’s desire to trap people using weird occult powers.
You should definitely visit the Winchester house if you get the chance! They only allowed photos in the area advertising the movie when I went though. It's absolutely beautiful and chaotic
Very fun catalog of spooky houses.
You should do a list like this but with horror movie houses and settings (house of a thousand corpses house, Texas chainsaw house, the Friday the thirteenth camp, etc)
Rank (in Tier list)
• Slasher villains
• final girls
• should-have-been Final Girls
• Ghosts / evil entities
• horror movies ranked by their creepiness or gore
Sorry if you have these ideas already but:
- slasher films
- Stephen king adaptations
- female villains
- creature features
- monster movies
- witch movies
Pleeeaaassseee review The Mothman Prophecies! You’ll love the ambience!!
can you do a ranking of different demons, ghosts, villains, killers etc. from horror movies and rate who youd most likely be friends with to mostly like hate eachother type thing, i think thats a funny and interesting thing to think about (:
Love love love!!
I really enjoyed this one - I'm a big ghost story/haunted fan, it's my favorite horror sub-genre. Personally, I really, REALLY enjoy your more esoteric take on the tier categories and pretty much agree with every ranking you've placed here. Thanks for a fun video! 😀
Formally registering my interest for a Winchester House Visit Vlog. 🙌
the amityville house is still up, its like a 10 minute drive from my cousins house, they always joke about going to see it but we never do. i wouldn't even want to live there as a ghost. stuck in long island? no way.
My rankings:
5 star resort: the others, the overlook hotel, the haunting, woman in black, allerdale hall, Winchester house
For some money: the orphanage, house on haunted hill, the conjuring, Danvers, amityville
If I were a ghost: ju-on, dolphin hotel, haunting of hill house, abaddon hotel
Demolish it: paranormal activity, kritticos house, gonjiam
I am definitely here for your views on architecture hahaha
Please do a ranking of "entertaining horror movies" or something like that. Horror movies that are less serious and more fun. To clarify: I don’t mean trash movies. I’m thinking more of movies like Final Destination (3), Ready or Not, Cabin in the Woods, Happy Deathday.
Just like horror movies that have funny moments without being a full-on comedy, and that one can just put on and watch without getting into a deep disturbing story but nevertheless a clever, innovative story.
Since I personally feel "The Changeling" is my favorite haunted house tale I'm disappointed you didn't consider it in the fold. 🤨😟
That's a real classic and a beautiful house.
Ànd what about Rose Red..?
King said he had the Winchester mansion in mind while writing that one.
@@dongray9852 I've not seen Rose Red.
Love the mansion from The Haunting! Sooo amazing. The rooms are wow. And the hidden passages got me. 😁
Curious to see where you would rank The Haunted Mansion (2003) on this list! 👻Also… YES PLEASE VLOG THE WINCHESTER HOUSE AT SOME POINT! 🙌🖤
