Im not even a dewalt fan but i do own that cut off tool with two 5ah Powerstack Batteries and its nothing short of amazing
Yep its crazy, almost needs a second handle IMO. Really whish they would take that motor and make a 90 degree die grinder.
Another outstanding review from the most unappreciated tool testing channel on yootoob. Keep up the great content as there are those of us that truly appreciate the straightforward content without the 15 minute run-up to the actual testing filled with meaningless ramblings and poor attempts at humor. Cheers!
Thanks! yep I try and mirror how I like watching content, straight and to the point.
I like that the Ryobi has a variable speed trigger. I know the M12 and Dewalt do not. I'm wondering if the Ridgid has variable speed? This feature goes unreported in every review and even in manufacturers specs - would be great to add 'yes/no' to your chart.
How are you using a variable speed trigger vs just setting the speed for the task? Are you constantly adjusting speeds on the fly?
@@ccbowers It's in the trigger - like how you use variable speed on a modern battery drill/driver ,vs. old school single speed brushed corded drill. For example using a cutoff saw with the diamond tile blade to cut a limestone tile with a radius cut or a notch etc.. You need the control to start the blade slowly rotating and bring it up to just the speed you need. I understand the concept doesnt make sense for this tool, but once you've tried it you'll understand what i'm saying. Not every job is cutting rebar as fast as humanly possible..
I have the Ridgid and it does have a variable speed trigger. It’s also awesome! Yeah the Dewalt is a little more powerful and has a better max depth of cut, but the Ridgid is a close second. If you’re already in the Ridgid platform, I see no reason to jump to Dewalt.
@@2down4up thanks for the info. to me the Ridgid gets the gold since it has top of class power AND the variable speed trigger. seems very ergonomic too..
Lowes has their 'Craftsman Days" right now that offers this tool "Free" when you buy a 4.0ah + 6.0ah + charger starter kit for $149. I am thinking of pulling the trigger b/c the Ryobi cutoff never goes on sale or is included in these "free tool" deals, plus I don't have a 6.0 V20 battery yet and I already own their brushless recip saw, multi-tool, angle grinder and 7 1/4" circular saw.
Yeah it’s a good deal IMO, it a very powerful cut off tool for the $ basically the same performance as the dewalt.
Hey I love your channel, all of the testing and thorough numbers you give. I'm just wondering why you haven't done an episode on the best cordless ratchet? I'd love to see it I would think your other subscribers would as well
Thanks! Hopefully in a few months. Im working on a tester for impacts which if works correctly will give us an idea of speed under load. I have a tester for max torque as well. Just working on the speed tester now.
GOOD INFO
great content . loved it all . i would expect the dewalt would get a jump of power from the 1.7 to the 5amph poerstack ,but surprised that the 15 flexvolt increased it again .amazing how much that little motor can pull .
Thanks! Yeah I couldn't believe it, crazy with the 15FV. I really wish they would take that motor and make a cordless 90 die grinder.
my craftsman bolt got stuck and wont unlock other than that I loved it cutting tile
Автор очень объективно, доходчиво и честно сравнивает спасибо 🙏 за такое контент! Я сам владею dcs348 отличный инструмент 👍
Just bought the craftsman they had a deal yiu buy two 4amp batteries and charger for 149.00 you get the 3inch cutoff tool free they also had other brushless tools too including a new belt sander which I almost bought instead of this
Nice, I always forget to check the starter kits...
1:45 built in metal dust collector lol
Is the foot plate removable from the guard on the Craftsman?
Yeah, the adjustment screw is also the holding screw, you can fully remove it.
@@Tools-Tested that's good to know thanks.
I've been looking to get a cordless cutoff for awhile and I have a few V20 batteries. This is the FIRST review video I have found on the Craftsman but that shoe would be in the way for my needs.
Hey 👋
this is exactly why i use both dewalt and milwuakee tools. as much as i like my milwaukee impacts and ratchets, dewalt absolutely shits on them with their saws, drills and cut off tools. dewalt's 60V 7-1/4" saws are absolute monsters, and this cut off tool is no different. there is no point in buying anything else in my opinion, especially with the powerstack being an option. the 5Ah powerstacks go on sale for as slow as $50 a pop. they are light, small (compared to the forge and rigid brick batteries) and open a whole different power level on their 20V tools.
Yep sadly your stuck with running multiple brands. I agree, the 5PS is a better option vs the forge and hopefully we see a 10PS at some point.
Battery's now are more important over the tool in most cases. I find it funny how most CZcamsrs will just test tools with 1 or 2 battery's.
I just opened CZcams and this video was here posted a minute ago, so... First?
i dont get the hype about those cut off tools. Just use a friggin angle grinder, and you can also grind with em. I just dont get it.
Non the less, another fanomenal video. Not much explaining, just right off facts and all in these nice charts
Angle grinders are larger and there is less control with no base plate, so you can choose the tool for the situation. Somewhat niche use, but such is the case for many tools.
I have a angle grinder and the cut off tool. The cut off tool is definitely useful for tight spaces. And not ideal but if you did need to cut rebar, dewalts with a 5ah Powerstack cuts through rebar in seconds. But if you had to choose one yes I'd choose a angle grinder
I like the cutoff tool for small simple tasks like cutting fence wire, pvc, copper pipe, tile or drywall. And being a one handed, lightweight tool with an electric brake as standard feature in all of them makes it much more convenient for those tasks compared to an angle grinder.
The angle grinder will be my choice for cutting and grinding rebar, PTR and cement. Mine does not come with brake nor antikickback in case it binds with something, so it requires much more attention
I've got the Ridgid..it's been great, can't complain 🟧
Yep its a hammer as well, really cant beat the power for its size and lifetime warranty.
