Single player mode feels more like Saturn Bomberman, as it too had interconnected worlds. Only this time it's a relative seamless transition into new areas. Disappointing that they toned down on some of the more interesting aspects of Bomberman level design, but it's still a satisfying gameplay loop. I haven't completed story yet, but I don't see any remote or spike bombs. Which I know would break the game with its level system, but I miss them all the same
The framerate is really unacceptable on Switch, especially in multiplayer where inputs matter more. I was really tempted to return my Switch copy and buy it again on Steam, but the PC version lacks cloud saves, which means I can't have my PC and Steam Deck share the same save file, and the the game is so poorly optimized that it doesn't even run that much better on the Steam Deck than it does on the Switch anyways. So I guess I'm begrudgingly sticking to the Switch version. I'll be pestering Konami and Hexa Drive until a performance patch comes though.
If there's any silver lining to this, Walmart's online price for the game is already $10 below MSRP
6:38 It's not even possible to play with 8 players on Playstation. The PS4 and PS5 only connect up to 4 wireless controllers. Super Bomberman R (1) for PS4 is worse because they removed the 8P option, you can't access the larger stages, not even filling up with NPCs.

Damn… I can’t get over how butt this game looks on switch. I get it’s not the most powerful system, but did they really need to scale back some of those textures? Also, missed opportunity for them not just to give us Bomberman Adventure and make it sort of like an rpg like they did on GBA.
