Does anyone else think that gold ring with the turquoise and diamonds, looks like a bird's nest with a Robin's egg in it? I instantly thought that. It's a beautiful reminder of spring and new beginnings!

Whoa! Janet Duncan, I thought I was the only oldie (married 1975) who was mesmerized by this lovely young collector. I didn’t appreciate the mid century modern style while I was living in it but Lauren has piqued my interest and appreciation in this style.

Because my husband was born and raised in Dundee, IL - the home of our dearly departed Haeger Pottery - and I’ve perused the old store and shopped it for so many years ... I’ve never seen the cat statue /candle holder you got. I feel a little jealous but so happy for you. Haeger is so recognizable in so many pieces. It’s rewarding to see a piece totally unexpected. I look for Haeger pieces all of the time, although we own so many already. I think it’s an acquired taste. Lol. Best wishes, good hunting, Laura. Loving what you are putting out there for us.

Those brass things you thought might be "measuring tools" marked with a number "1" are boat oar locks. They hold the oars for rowing a boat. Very cool.
I was looking to see if anyone else was gonna say that. I've never seen them in brass before.
I was wracking my brain, I knew they were oar locks.
Boat Oar Locks I recently sold a pair I found at Goodwill..
@@kristinacleveland1805 I think the salt water doesn’t oxidize brass like it does other materials. This is why often fittings on boats are made of brass.

I am hunting for any of the animal haeger. I got several planters at garage sales in the last week most i paid for one was 4 bucks an i gave it to my friend to have she is a breast cancer survivor. The planter had pink an light grey.

The sunflower bowl in the beginning was Federal, not Pyrex (theres a big 'F' on the bottom). And that plate - if thats Gary Ubben you did really good!!

Oh my gosh!!! Tammy’s Treasures had some awesome stuff at great prices. I loooved that green kitty, the tree of life with the critters, and that lamp is gorgeous and for only $15, what a steal!
Stitch up a canvas drop cloth(found in hardware stores cheap) sac with tabs and velcro closures to hang inside that brass umbrella stand and it becomes a laundry hamper.
Must have cats! Must have critters! Artemis! Yay Goddess of the Hunt? I worked at a horse farm in NY called Artemis Farms 🌻🐴💕

Often times people display their books with one end against the shelf and the other with a single bookend. Single bookends are very desirable.

I've been thrifting and antique collecting my entire life and have been wanting to get into reselling a lot lately but I don't know how to. I live in Longview and I love how good our thrift stores are here. They're hidden gems. Our Goodwill is pretty bad but you can find some good stuff occasionally.
You’ve got great thrift stores! I say go for it! Starting out on eBay or Etsy is the easiest way to get the ball rolling online and a local vintage shop is also a good starting place. 😄

I love art deco tropical or British colonial....like India hicks style. I have thrifted a cane mirror, natural frames, wooden camel (vintage from my childhood), palm leaves & peacock feathers... Glorious.... Colours like black, green, cream & dark woods.

The dish with sunflowers is Federal Glass, not Pyrex. :) Federal mark is an F in a shield. I find so much Homco, but never that one!! I'll be looking, although it doesn't seem like a popular theme here in rural Kansas......I usually just find flowers.

You know, Laura I grew up in the 60's and those cats and so much other "junk" (sorry, but that was what a lot of that was considered at the time) in the import stores were a dime a dozen.
It is so weird to see how younger folks see it so differently than how it was viewed in it's time. Though I must say, I loved those import stores in he mid to late 60's thru mid 70's and still have much of that stuff put away. I think what I loved most in the import stores were the little hippie oils you would buy in little viles and wear instead of perfume. Scents like strawberry and cinnamon were a favorite find in those places. You would have gone nuts for all the aquarious banks, psychedelic black light posters, pottery wind chimes and cats that looked like your cutie.
I love weed pots too! I like them in twos or threes. I know that's groupings of three are great but I am always drawn to twos of things.
I'd be doing a happy dance too if I found those items at those prices! 💃
Having just discovered you, I am commenting on an older video, but the brutalist ballerina sculpture appears to be a copy of a work by Alberto Giacometti. I have the other one you pictured, purchased more than ten years ago from my local Salvation Army. I would have loved to have seen you go through the stack of plates at 11:22, as I am convinced they are Mashiko pottery. We lived in Japan in the late 60's and my mother made a pilgrimage to Mashiko and came back with sets of lunch and dinner plates -- each one is different, and each is a work of art. I have found three in thrift stores here, and they are instantly recognizable.
I think you have amazing taste, and I am learning a lot from you, so thought I would share.
