I'll show you my up to date MPGs and talk octanes and fuels. Which fuel is better for the Zilla and does the higher octane give you any more fuel economy or power.

I’ve got a 24’ F350 Platinum Tremor 7.3 and am getting about 12mpg combined after ~4,500 miles. Mixed driving, some towing. I live at sea level in eastern NC. Burning 87 Octane E-10 gas.
Truck is stock height but I am on 305/70/18 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs on 18x9 Method wheels. Same height tires just a little wider and heavier. Also running 55psi front/43 rear to get even tread wear (cold psi numbers). I bump the rear tires to 65psi when I’m towing.

Like your videos, don’t complain about fuel prices, 486- diesel/456 Premium in Washington state.

Part of me wants upgrade from my 3.0l Duramax to a 6.6 Duramax but wouldn’t be towing all the time. The cost and emissions issues are the only reasons why I’d stay away and get the 6.6 gas

I agree with that 100%. The emissions stuff really cripples modern diesels and ads so much in potential problems, especially if one doesn't tow most of the time. The 3.0 Dmax has great potential when it comes to towing and the fuel economy. My boss is on his second one, his first was a 21 3.0 and it started having emissions control issues at 50k. He bought a second one and so far so good, but most of them will be fine if they get out on the road often, which his commute is 120 a day on the hwy. Or if one doesn't idle much or do stop and go driving.

That’s about what I’m getting with my tremor. I don’t two a big ole sail behind me but do have a dump trailer.
I try not to commute in it much. It is a joy to drive though and I enjoy it when I’m in it.

Sounds like it’s doing pretty good especially considering what it is.
You’re right about the diesel claims too. Not all, but a lot of diesel guys claim they can get what these gas trucks get empty when they are towing lol. Mine sure wouldn’t. It only got 2 mpg better than my gas truck, towing or otherwise.

Damn 10.8 with towing involved. My '22 I average 10.4 hand calculated and haven't towed anything yet. Only at 7800 miles now but that should be well broken in by now. I'll admit sometimes I have a heavy foot. I think my biggest issue is most of my driving 90% is on city streets.

Maintenance and various filters make a diesel expensive to run. The power is undeniable when towing.

I have seen a few reports on different forums where eco mode actually returned lower fuel economy than normal. Never tried myself but maybe worth a try on the next tank.

It does. I have a '24 and I can get just over 13 in normal mode, 12.1-12.3 in eco. Same engine and rear end.

Is the Chevy 6.6 gasser with 10 speed still holding up? So many comments I see about the transmission going out due to the transmission valve body.

What’s the Eco unleaded 86 ? It’s that for cars with the flex fuel ?

Are you running 60 PSI front and 80 PSI rear?

Do you normally run premium to get your numbers? I remember you used to get 17 with the General and wondered did that was based on regular or premium. Also, which rear end did you have on the General? The way you had it specked out is a whole lot more like how I would do one on my next purchase.

  • @khonesavanhchandara7044

Could you make it over 400 mile with full tank

      @automotiveinquiries9673  Před 16 dny +2

Yep, not towing the best I've done with the 4.30 was 411, and it took 31 to fill it.
