If you played Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, you know that at one point Cal gets captured by bounty hunters and ends up in prison. But did you wonder if it's possible to avoid it? In this cinematic video I explore this question and try to find ways to outsmart the game.
PS. You can't use the force flying glitch in this instance because you need double jump ability for that. It's unlocked after prison during the Kashyyyk section when you climb the Origin Tree.

@@theccp1739 Hunters stop taking damage around 25% of health though. From my testing it looks like they cannot be killed unless you use 'one hit kill' cheat.

It would’ve been amazing if the developers had a feeling someone would somehow skip the bounty hunters so they just put Darth Vader to stand in front of the ship to ensure you don’t escape that planet.
(Idk why people are taking this literally and logically and commenting “that makes no sense”. It’s just a dumb and silly little Easter egg idea, of course it won’t make sense.)

I don't like the fact that the bosses just stop taking damage. I get the player needs to lose there, but give a unique/rare cutscene where the other 2 show up and get the jump on you instead of punishing skill with an invisible boss

@@liamz9891 if you skip or remove anything from Pokemon the game basically dies. In let's go pikachu/eevie if you removed your starter pikachu/eevie you couldn't even open the menu because it would crash. If you skipped the intro, the games would crash. It goes on.

Fun fact I've just discovered by accident: if you have a fully-upgraded Force Push, and you go into the ice caves, and you're quick enough on the draw that the bounty hunter hasn't entered their combat stance yet, you can push them off the edge of the map. I would've thought this was prevented by the ray shield but it very much is not.
When we do get captured and rescused by Cere, she said that "It could've been avoided"
I never felt so mad at a character in a while till she said that
I know this is an old comment and you've likely already finished this game, but just wanted to chime in really quick. Cere doesn't direct that "it could've been avoided" comment to Cal, she's actually speaking to Greez. He was in debt to the Haxion Brood, and they were tracking him.
So it's pretty much his fault we get caught up in that, and it could have been avoided.

They just come out of nowhere and bring you into this sequence that is ok, but then for now on, you had to deal with annoying bounty hunters that ruin the fun of exploring the worlds when there up in your butt all the time.
I love how the video doesn’t waste your time with “make sure you like and subscribe” BS, but instead shows you right away with clean, tidy and nice looking camera shots and display. The video has nice, calm music that fits the gameplay and information that stays relevant to the topic.
More videos should be like this

@Ludimeel Sorbo there should be drop off and pick up points once you've been all over a planet. you get dropped off at say 5 different locations on each map. With his no fall damage Jedi powers he can survive a quick jump from the mantis.
And maybe he acquired a grappling gun (from e1) and he can grapple onto the mantis.
@Ludimeel Sorbo force slow is a dark side ability but Cere never remarks on you using a dark side ability

One thing I will say about the prison scene is that we get to hear that awesome song from the opening scene of the game again and it makes us look like an absolute badass while we're killing all the creatures he throws at us.

I did this and found that if you do get caught just quit to the title screen and that come back and it should put you at your last meditation spot
It's actually really easy to avoid prison, step one, get to the bounty hunter, step two, rage quit before prison

It randomized for every playthrough. If you go back throughorevi oously explored areas after the prison escape you'll often find them retracing your steps looming for you.

There's another way into the Ice Caves. If you go to the Withered Monument, you can go all the way back to the Windswept Ruins. There's a way into the ice caves through there. It's the path I've taken the last 3 times I've skipped the prison sequence. Also, with that last bounty hunter, you can get close enough to pull those crates to you without setting off the trap. Use those to push the bounty hunter away. Then, walk close enough to set it off, and use force pull to dump them off the ledge. The second part of "Can you beat Fallen Order without a lightsaber" details this quite nicely.

Ok, but how is this path any good? You take a massive detour that takes way longer than paths I showed and then you end up in the Ice Caves on the other side of the Bounty Droid. And what then? You still have to avoid his bubble shield and then go past the Commando. Going from the direction I showed is both faster and easier because avoiding droid's shield is harder from the opposite side. Actually I didn't even manage to do it when I tried because the shield leaves no room around the edges of the cliff.

I have to be honest, I feel like they chose a weird middle way by giving you technically unwinnable fights against the bounty hunters. With how detached the whole prison break section is from the general story (like, the whole thing seems to be there just so Respawn could bolster the playtime a little) they could just as well just made it completely optional and make the fights winnable. On the other hand, if they insisted you fighting it, I feel like it would have been easier to just have a quick cutscene (for instance in the imperial facility) where Cal gets taken out in an ambush or alternatively make the fight winnable, but when you move in for the finisher a short animation plays where you get shocked.
I don't think unwinnable fights as a plot device are always bad but in this case there's no point and it feels kind of clunky. I mean, a good unwinnable fight serves to build up your opponent as someone way more powerful than you currently are, ideally to set up a later encounter where you are gonna kick their ass, thus illustrating your growth and gain in power. But we are not talking about special enemies with relevance for the plot here but instead some random-ass bounty hunters and the only reason you can't beat them is because the game wants to do some kind of transition to you being in that prison.
Rather than just forcing you to lose a fight that is not even that difficult, I'd much rather just see Cal get taken out using some unfair means.
That game generally feels rushed and unpolished. I'm pretty sure this prison section was supposed to be a part of some bigger story arc that ultimately got cut because there was no time. But devs were like: what do we do with this arena thing we made? Well, let's keep that in cuz it's cool. Plus the game isn't long anyway so we gotta pad the run time.
Greez and Cere will occasionally talk about his gambling addiction and how he owes money to the Haxion Brood, who run the arena and supply the bounty hunters. If you heard this dialogue on any of your trips through hyperspace, you know what's going on: Greez's debts finally caught up with him, and the Brood takes Cal as collateral. Even if he pays, it's unlikely they'll let Cal go. A Jedi is worth its weight in credits to the Brood as a bargaining chip to the Empire, an entertainment tool for the arena, and a show of how tough the Brood is to its enemies. Cal is there because Greez messed up. After that, his tone towards Cal completely changed in-game; where he was once Curt and brushes off Cal most times, he now openly expresses guilt and warms up to the Padawan. A nice bit of character development. So really, the arena and sequence make sense, but only if you pay attention at the right times to the convos in the cockpit.
I have no problem with losing in a cutscene, but being cheated in combat is intolerable because it feels like robbery.

Honestly the fight after you break out of prison is one of my favorite segments in the game. It yanks you from the story and is so shocking

@@trevorbolena4202 The problem isn´t the prison itself, the problem is those bounty hunters that come after you after that. They are so annoying.
For me I just slap the jetpackers on the face and go: “No. Stop it.” For the Droids it’s a matter of double blade and dodge and for the commando just keep them cornered.
I take them out alright.
