Transit Mk7 Tibbe key decoder getting stuck? Tips and tricks on how to not snap your decoder 🤫

Sliding a narrow strip of metal, eg a lock pick, down the shaft of the key in order to hold the dust catch open and then removing the key and pick at the same time also works, and saves removing the ignition barrel from the vehicle. I just did this to remove a decoder that my parents got stuck in their old transit van years ago when they needed to move it to another property.

Too rough with it dude you will need to strip the lock down or drill it out now

Can it get stuck in a car door too or is the problem only with the ignition? My key works only with the ignition but not the doors so I imagine one of them was switched out. I had problems only when my battery died but thought this tool could be a good backup solution... as long as there's no risk to get it stuck, that is :D

Hi no the doors don’t seem to be a problem with sticking as there is no dust cap on those so you are safe ok

Do these start transit or just unlock the doors

You can start with it but you need to be very skilled to do so. The easiest method is to decode the door lock and use a make up key or just cut a new key

I DID THAT WITH WD40 AND THE STREW SNAPPED IN SIDE..AS I PLULLED IN FRUSTRATION.. PLEASE ADVICE..HOW I CAN.. REMOVE BARREL..KEY WON'T INSERT.AT ALL..
