    I completely agree with the “Permatex” brand anti-seize on the aluminum body for adjustment but, the Torrington bearing will suffer less unless using a High Temp PTFE brake grease from ACDelco, simply because it is clear and not blue! The anti-seize compound has metals of copper, aluminum or zinc in high temp applications. For a bearing, just plain grease is best. Use wheel bearing grease if needed, the adjusting nut needs an anti-seize for galvanic action of dissimilar metals so it can be adjusted or serviced.

    just a quick tip, you use a brass punch and hammer to tighten the lock ring up on coilovers. Spanners alone dont quite get it tight enough. Can vibrate loose after a while. That extra shock from hammering them help them to bite into the adjustment ring and lock it in place. Loving the build so far though. Been tossing around the idea of either SAS or coilover swap my 03 2500HD.

    I did this same conversion on my lifted Tahoe about a year ago and it has been superb. The torsion bar suspension is antiquated and is a horrible ride over coil overs. Complete adjustability now and fine-tuning for all on and off-road conditions.

    • @rickw4160

      Nobody needs dual batteries for running lights anymore. They all LEDs. Just for winches. And fridges.

    • @rickw4160
      @rickw4160 Před 2 lety

      I'm saying that new led lights use significantly less power than incandescent. 42" triple row light bars are like 600w. Old hella Incandescent we're often 100w each. Regular headlights are like 35-55w.
      A 65a alternator will easily put up with that.
      Your in Montana and obviously crazier winters. But your fan mostly isn't running if it's that cold.
      If you have a high compression motor that's when you need big battery reserves to crank it over.

The oil will pool at the seal and will eventually leak out causing them to fail. This is well documented and a very well known obstical to designing suspension systems that anybody with a basic understanding of how shocks work would be able to tell you.

    That's a trick upgrade. Gives the vehicle a nice stance. Seems chock-full of engineering compromises though. Particularly the upper mount where the two bolts that pass through the frame are literally right next to each other. This requires drilling two half-inch holes through the frame in close proximity. I would have liked to have seen much heavier weld-in mounts.

    Great vid and great idea but I know gm trucks have issue holding alignment cause the cams. Check out dirt king fabrication alignment cams . The are heavy duty and Instead of a open slit for setting the dirt king cams are hole punched. So once it's set it stays. Jus a small upgrade but it helps .

    Looking good man. Wish I had the cash to get mine to look this good. But the guy who had it before me used it as a farm truck. So rockers are gone and I don't know how to do them and can not afford to pay someone. Lol

    @LsxMatt You said you noticed an improvement in the ride quality and I do love the ability to adjust on the fly to your needs however after this install and considering the cost do you think this upgrade is worth it for someone who drives a '03 2WD and is only looking to improve ride comfort and will never see off road wear?

    Great Video! I'm curious about both the wheel spacers you have on your Z71 and headlamps and tail lights. Are the tail lights bright enough? Oh and the black bumpers I love that and I have I believe 22 on black and silver rims I'd include pics but CZcams doesn't offer the ability. anyway the bumpers where did you order them from. I'd like links to all if possible please. I'm off to watch your other Vids. Thanks again Eddie J. Long Island N.Y
