FORD RANGER OFF-ROAD 4X4 TRACTION CONTROL TEST : HILL CLIMBING ROLLING ROCK HILL!!!

  • Testing out the traction control on the Ford Ranger with some loose rock uphill climbs. This 4x4 truck did not come equipped with a rear locker and we did not air down instead deciding to test the truck as it is driven on the street. The driver used caution because of a lack of rock rails on the truck.

Good thing I checked the comments. I was gonna start critiquing, but since you intentionally over inflated the tires, picked horrible lines and had no throttle discipline, certainly makes sense.

It's easy to be an expert at my computer at home, but aside from the obvious help a locker or lockers would have given, I think bro's biggest issue was speed. The description says they were being careful because of the bare rocker panels, but he kept stopping for no apparent reason.
If loose rocks are anything like mud, you've got to have momentum and wheel speed.
Other than that, that's a nice-looking truck. I like the stance and width of it. I have a stock FX4 in the same blue color.

If it had better BLD type tech , yeah I would agree that BLD is great. Traction control is a throttle nanny. It's not the braking technology I think you're talking about. with traction control off, for example , on a Jeep ... the braking technology will still do it's thing but the "throttle nanny" aka traction control goes bye bye.
For a long time I didn't realize it before I started really digging deep but all those things are distinct systems. They might use the same hardware (brakes and throttle) but it's different software.
      1. ABS
      2. Traction Control
      3. Stability Control
      4. Brake Locking Differential (every manufacturer has a form of it basically but they all call it something else. Toyota calls it ATRAC for example).
      These are all independent systems.
Disabling traction control doesn't disable stability control (but with some cars if you press the button longer you can disable that too). Disabling Traction control also doesn't disable BLD or the analogous.
      Anyway it's all different stuff.

@@7150285 and BLD tech... Because if you don't need lockers and you use it... And you break an axle... And BLD could have done it... You've lost... If that weren't true , Jeep would not have bothered adding BLD to the Rubicon. What's the point?
And also , solid axle isn't always better. It depends on what you're doing.
Solid axle is ONLY better if that much flex is required. If it's not , then 4 wheel independent suspension is actually better.
For the case that a 4 wheel inspection suspension vehicle has more flex than solid axle (rare but not impossible), 4 wheel independent suspension wins.

I was wondering what you might have in mind for the rock rails and bumpers down the road , I agree with taking it easy picking a good line when you do not have all the armor to protect a brand new truck . Sometimes I think the back seat drivers of the interweb have gotten used to channels with kitted out jeeps/trucks people with sponsors and 1k's of views and patreon supporters to get things fixed , I enjoy watching someone with some common sense and a budget that's closer to mine doing a real test of what the truck can do as it would be driven day to day !
