  • The 2019 Ford Ranger XLT FX4 features a handy Off-Road feature called Trail Control. This provides both pro and beginner off-road drivers with the ability to carefully traverse even difficult offroad situations. How does it work? Ryan takes the 2019 Ford Ranger on a challenging test drive, through a boulder-covered course to find out.

    They need to put the 3.5 L TwinTurbo in this truck !

    You noted when in Trail Control, power may be directed to each of the wheels individually. Is this feature only available in Trail Control or is it also available in any, or all of the various different selectable modes? And how, exactly, is this done - braking the slipping wheel or some other way?

    I laughed at that Renegade behind him, but good review.

    First, did you call this thing a "cute little pick-up" at the end? 🙂 It's not bad. I prefer the presence of the Taco personally. But for everyday use, I hate the back seat storage. I am glad to see everyone getting back into this category though.
    Also, where's your Colorado video? Do one yet?

    What buttons control the speed up and down?

    TRD Off Road. Where specifically is this course you designed? Is it available to the public to test their vehicles on?

    • @drivingsports
      @drivingsports  Před 5 lety

      We built it just for the competition at the Ridge motorsports Park in Shelton Washington. We take over part of their MotoX and ATV tracks, so they can’t keep them available for the public.

    Question: Did you decrease tire pressures before going on course?

    Throttle control while going over rocks, that's what hand throttles on proper Four Wheel Drives were for.

    Nice vid man is this better then honda ridgeline cause i am about to buy one nice vid and keep up if you have time please answer i will use my pick up only for off road cause i live in a greek island iam thinking of the all black edition and i have no budget. thank u and please answer.

    • @drivingsports
      @drivingsports  Před 5 lety +2

      As much as I like the Ridgeline the Ford Ranger is just more capable off road. Everything from the dual range gearbox to crawl control and the various off-road modes.If you’re low on budget the Nissan frontier off-road is a good option.

    Why doesn't anybody ever try the locker in 2 wheel drive u have any idea how many obstacles you could get through just having posi traction in the rear?? It's crazy how much more traction you get just by having both rear tire spin versus one

    But it totally needs a lift kit and 27's. You know for all those highway miles.

    A real man drives a 4X4 that has non locking rear axel, hubs you have to manually turn for front differential, 4X4 selection using a lever next to the manual gear shift. Hee, hee. Like to see a comparison between the new vehicles to the 70’s vehicles.

      And a "real man" is adaptable to changing technology. ;) Old school mash and bash is how "real men" spend free time repairing everything. ;)
