On this channel, I invite you to join me in exploring the intricate tapestry of my life. As a Russian-New Zealand adoptee, I open up about my experiences, shedding light on topics that resonate with fellow adoptees. From vlogs to illuminating stories, this space is dedicated to sharing not only my own journey but also the inspiring narratives of others who've walked a similar path.
Having been adopted at the age of two from an orphanage in Arkhangelsk, Russia, into the embrace of my New Zealand family, I delve into the path of my cultural upbringing, the history that has shaped me, and the meaningful connections I've made with my birth family. My quest to uncover the missing links of my heritage takes me to Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, each step a chapter in my evolving story.

Much love and respect to your parents, who raised you so well. That they accepted your journey to meet your bio parents and even met them is a testimony to their kindness. They are such amazing parents to you and your brother!

Been watching snippets of this journey of finding your birth parents over the years, and each time my heart goes out to Mama T. Can't believe it's been 10 years now, and despite the distance and the challenges in communicating with her, your relationship is growing stronger. Misha is just a joy, and you must be so grateful to be able to reconnect with him and your half-siblings! Much appreciation for Mum and Dad Gilbert, they raised a wonderful person in you, Alex!

I am from Brazil and have been following Alex’s story for a long time. Your story helped me improve my English skills and motivated me to start learning Russian. I found your channel by accident, and it has been a pleasure to learn about your story and meet your whole family virtually. Thank you for sharing your story, Alex.

Aww Alex what a lovely look back on your journey! Your parents did such a great job raising you! You're such a warm and bright young man. Your birth father Misha also seems really warm and bubbly. I can imagine you as an amazing parent one day if you decide to have kids in the future!

I love your heart and the fact you are taking the time and effort to make and build the relationships with your biological Father and Mother. I'm so proud of you, thankful that your adopted parents raised such a wonderful son. So glad you're helping your Mother.

I'm so happy for you. And your journey and for helping others. Bless you when you were so nervous what a challenge in a different language and super young and enthusiastic. Super tough. You look so like your biological Dad. Glad you made the connections and love your enthusiasm. There are good people in the world and your New Zealand parents are amazing also, thankfully there are people like your families that supported you and others and you had the courage to go there many don't. But it seems to have brought a lot joy into all your lives and others spread the love 😍

Such a touching and heartwarming update and recap. I've followed this journey since you first went to Russia. The relationships you've created are wonderful, and you've helped so many other adoptees. Yes, here's to the next 10 years and what it will bring for you and your families.

Alex i came across ur videos today, and i have been watching it since, one thing i wanna say is i don't know anything about ur life or ur birth mother life's situation, and am not judging u either, but i think u should bring her with u to where ever u live, she is alone now and u r her only child and right now she needs u more than ever before, forget about past and i would love to see her hopefully one day living with u,give her a little happiness in her last phase of her life.(Sorry if my words offended u)

Your birth parents significant others also seem like really good people. It could not have been easy finding out your spouse’s long lost child was back.
