    Thanks Rob, i fly out for my first GBR trip tomorrow and Im stressing about seasickness
    I wish I had off found this 3 weeks ago haha
    Thank you so much for all your gear and videos i find your rigging videos the easiest and most comprehensive on the tubes and stoked most of my gear has the RA stamp on it.
    I have 3 packets of Kwells in my bag. They are easy to get in Australia too. Sing out and I'll send you some if you want some

    I'm so lucky to not suffer from this but will share with friends that might find a solution with your help. Feel it makes a lot of sense that a human body can adapt to external stimuli. Thanks for sharing!

    Scopolamine. It’s the ingredient in Kwells that helps control motion sickness. It’s what I I use, but because I’m in the States, it’s not sold here. So, I buy it direct from Australia. US used to sell a similar pill called scopace, but it was discontinued a couple decades ago. We still can access scopolamine, but only through the dermal patch that goes behind the ear.

      Interesting, thanks for that. My problem with any medication is that it makes you tired, even though most say "Does not cause drowsiness."

    Thanx Uncle Rob, I am very very fortunate that I don't suffer from this but my Supervisor. . .the poor man does not seem to be getting better and he has spent at least a day at sea every week for the last two years. I will tell him about this.

    Thanks Rob, I tried it and got to 5 😂
    But it makes sense, it's just conditioning like we do with apnea training for the dive reflex.
    Easy enough to do every morning

      Keep doing it every day at the same time, after a week or so you should see an improvement. If you do, you are on the right track. If you get to 150 without trowing up, you should feel little to no motion sickness.

    Rob maybe you have some tips on preventing ears and sinuses getting blocked up and what can be done if it happens? Thank you for all the great videos.

      I am fortunate that I don't have ear problems so can't talk from experience. What I can say is that dairy products do cause congestion with many guys, way more than most other foods. My business partner also has problems if he drinks a beer the night before a dive, other alcohol is no problem. I also have many friends who will not dive without taking a de-congestion tablet to keep their sinus paths open.

    Unless you suffer from Vertigo like i do, nothing works with seasickness . I throw the kitchen at this when I fly and from my yachting experiences , I wanted to literally throw myself overboard as I was just so sea sick- awful experience - will stay on shore - LOL.

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing
      @RobAllenSpearfishing  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I was also very bad and found this works but.... you have to put the effort in, easy way to tell is try the exercise and see if you do improve. If not, then it is not for you. I also suffer from Vertigo by the way.

      @@RobAllenSpearfishing will try the exercise. Callum can attest to me landing up in the lap of someone unknown on one of those rides at Disneyworld when he was young and lord that was embarrassing . Does not take much for my vertigo to trigger and if you recall I collapsed in Japan in 2003 and had to go by ambulance to hospital and was diagnosed there with severe vertigo. Been on cocktail of tablets every single day since then.

      @@RobAllenSpearfishingYes this exercise does work for Vertigo. There are these liquid crystals in our ears that cause it. You said it well , someone has this fluid light , and it causes motion sickness. All the best to you.
