60 meters of 1.8mm Dyneema reel line is great. You are right - for the exceptional cases, when needing more line attaching the gun to a backup belt reel is common practice. If shooting larger fish maybe it's good to switch to break-away setups or clip the gun's handle clip to a float line.
Nice as usuel like your products that I use ! RA is the best... The old reel tends to no longer be able to brake after 40 or 50 shoots of big fishes. Mechanism wears out a bit. And I always wait for a bigger reel model with 80/90 m.
Hey Rob, great video again. Can you please let me know what knot you tie on the belt-reel (3:22) in between the plastic nut and the plastic covered dyneema. My reel came with these parts but untied. Thanks again
Is that line ant line that’s on the new reels, if so who do I contact from your distributors to have reels come spooled with that line and not the nylon coated dyneema?
Where are you in the world? Ant line was a generic name a long time back for Dyneema, it is going to be re introduced. Nylon is not a coating used on Dyneema, some stiffen it with a type of polyurethane.
I love how these manufacturers sound like they are making changes for the benefit of the consumer. This shit should be accomplished before he ever takes a dime. Hustle doesn’t fly here.
Hi Shakubob, this reel was originally designed for reef fish hunting, not game fish. Customers started using it for game fish, hence the change to keep up with the customers changing needs.
Awesome video. Can we get a more in depth video on Roller gun setups?
Coming soon.
I don't own any RA or use it much but I am happy to recommend it and I enjoy the videos immensely.

Very nice reel how can I buy that
What’s the orange line that comes on the belt reel? Dyneema or Dacron?
It is also Dyneema.
Hey Rob, can you please let me know the name of the knot that you use to connect the dyneema to my reel at 5:29 please?
Rob Allen special 😜 Sorry, no idea if it has a name.
@@RobAllenSpearfishing would a slip knot work ok then?
It is a slip knot but I use (form) a double loop before passing the tag end through. It's very similar to a hangman noose.
