You can also take your antenna loose on the truck, stick the end into that hold under the handle, move it around and upward and it will come right open, if not, try it again , it will come right open once you get it right .
My 2011 uses the same key for the doors and ignition. The driver door is easier to unlock than the passenger side, probably because it has seen more use, and the passenger side needs to be lubricated. I never carry or use my remote, even though I have one.
I just bought an 09 ford ranger and I can't unlock the drivers side with the key. It only locks and unlocks with the key fob. What'd you decide was wrong?
Wd40 works for my 2011 ranger. Mine always has the passenger door not turning in the winter. 2 days ago the drivers side wouldn’t turn when it was cold at night. But once it’s daytime and little warmer they work. WD40. Fixed it.
Had a similar issue. I pulled the lock cylinder out of the door and found it clogged up with dirt Still jams occasionally, and I have to pop the lock with the antenna
Replace the locks and ignition, stupid easy and cheap, you can get them all on ebay for cheap, and a new keyfob, they are all super easy to replace too, i did it on my previous ranger, I don't think it was more than $30 all in all to do all the locks

the old Ford Rangers have a key for ignition... and a separate key for the door!...found out AFTER the previous owner sold it to me, and of course he LOST IT
You have your electrnic key bob or what ever you want to call it , and it does not open with that, put a new 3 vote battery in it . Same goes for my Nissan Altma, it goes dead, you car will not start the vehicle or anything, replace the 3 vote battery every once in a whle, I always carry a spare battery . JUst like your computer mother board, you having trouble and cannot get from drive c to dive d and it is acting up bad, put a new 3 vote battery on the motherboard and it will work also.
bro doesn't know about the "spare key" directly infront of the windshield on the passenger side.
The lock cylinders may have been changed at some point. Get another set with a key .
Late comment here, but WD40 usually does the trick to fix this problem.

An aerosol product called Deoxit got my Ranger lock turning again. Its a little pricey but it worked

Spray wd40 in the hole
Fobs are very cheap on eBay and even easier to program. However, I think you have another type of problem. I'm all ears if you find the answer

My 2002 done same thing just spray wd40 in door locks
Mines a 98 with no chip or anything so I love being able to use all 3 of my keys for everything lmao

Well, the M.F. who broke into my ranger and stole my tools, got it open with a screwdriver!… now my keys really don’t open it.
