- Hi! I'm Jayden, a teen who owns their own business teaching Piano in the Miami area and is kind of a social media star. Today I reacted to George Collier's transcription of one of Tim Minchin's performances. Here is the original video by @GeorgeCollier : • when the audience clap...

Wanna see more of me reacting to Tim Minchin? Just dropped another vid where I reacted to his musical COMEDY: czcams.com/video/nO1p_lVfxcA/video.htmlsi=Dqzt21489rJhRTHq
You think THAT is Tim Minchin performing?! This is only half of it - he's also one of the world's funniest comedians
just checked his instagram, it said “songwriter, singer, pianist, actor, writer, comedian, producer, poet….” (and there’s still more) Tim Minchin is unstoppable.
@@musicaljayden He is a brilliant artist of modern times.
@@musicaljayden his comedy is brilliant and his serious music is even better. Hasn't written a comedy song since 2009
This is a brief solo interlude in the middle of a massive long song which is the finale of a long night.
Tim is honestly one of the most talented people I've ever seen. So smart, so incredible at what he does, but also incredibly humble and human.
Seeing him live was literally life changing.
I'm so glad to exist at the same time as this man. What an honour.
If you wanna check out the complete original video it's Tim Minchin Dark side the awesome version
Yeah, a must watch. "I'll see you on the other side" :)
I'd say first take 90 minutes from your weekend and watch Rock n Roll Nerd. Then dive straight down into the Tim Minchin rabbit hole. Often missed is Lullaby, his best love song for his now probably 12 year old daughter.. There is so much more to him and Sarah than in this video. Matilda the musical, Groundhog Day, Upright, and so on. I like some rap and RHCP, but nobody seems to be able to keep up with Tim.
Watch him perform Storm :). There a million different versions of Tim Minchin. It's quite possible to get stuck in a Tim Minchin watching rabbithole for years.
Tim wrote Matilda The Musical tahts been on stage in London's West End for years. Also wrote the musical Groundhog Day. His writing & lyrics are excellent
WOAHH, matilda too? He never ceases to surprise me
@@musicaljayden the song quiet from Matilda (1h15 on Netflix) is particularly brilliant.
Kudos to the whole team that brought that together. Musically, visually, acting … everything.
Tim is awesome. Saw him live the other night and it was the best show I've ever been to. I can't explain his level of talent, intelligence and charisma other than "not human," while making you feel like a completely inadequate human. He really draws you in and manipulates all your feelings - in a good way. He played a bit of Darkside, and when he got to the fur elise part he proceeded to play it in about 10 different complicated styles before transitioning into another song.
Tim Minchin is also a twice Tony Award nominated composer and lyricist for his work on Groundhog Day and Matilda. In addition to his work as an actor, comedian, songwriter, and producer (I think he has some other credits/talents as well). Watching his interviews he also is incredibly articulate and a deep thinker. He seems to be a very compassionate and humble person who isn’t afraid to confront injustice in his songwriting. He recently appeared on a podcast called Weirder Together with Ben Lee and Ione Skye which is worth a watch. If you’d like to get an idea of his comedic work, try listening to Prejudice. It’s a brilliant piece of work
He and weird Al collaborating would be wild!
Tim's TV series, "Upright" is also a good laugh and kinda sad too.
I sooo love Tim Minchin, his combination of piano and comedy is just awe inspiring.
truly jaw-dropping stuff
You sound like a great guy Jayden with a ton of ambition, I wish you all the very best for your future success 😊
Thank you so so so much ❤️😇
He hit big around 2004 in Edinburgh. There’s a video about it on CZcams, shows him before he blew up. Lovely man. His “White Wine in the Sun” is my favorite holiday song. 😊
I agree. "White Wine in the Sun" is a truly beautiful song, and a must on my holiday playlist.
And his latest single, Play it safe, was released in october to celebrate the 50th birthday of the sydney opera house
Absolutely fantastic!
Check out anything by tim....the man is a genius
I really see it, this guy’s astonishing
I don't watch a lot of reaction videos, and I have no idea how my rabbit hole led me here, but MAN did I get a kick out of your video! I remember the first time I watched the video of that special, and watching Tim do that... insanity that he does on that song, I must have re-watched it at least half a dozen times back to back. It was actually that performance in fact that finally pushed me over the edge to start learning piano. It's not that I ever even dream of being that good, but it is the joy that Tim gets out of music... his music, other people's music, it just gives him noticeable joy. I find that inspiring. Anyway, it was also a joy watching someone experience the madness that is Tim for the first time, and I hope you have explored the rest of his performances. He is a rare person, and I am glad you found him!
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed :D
I hope you have ended up down the rabbit hole of Tim Minchin’s work; there’s so much, he’s so talented yet humble, and he’s definitely worth listening to in interviews too.
I really enjoyed your video; thank you
thank you for watching :D
Terrific review. Tim is pretty good isn’t he. He’s Australian, performed all over the world. You might like to watch one of his interviews too, they are very informative about his life. He’s seems a really lovely humble man
Thanks! I’ll definitely look into his interviews, he seems like he has a great personality 😊
He’s British Australian. 😊
@@joed7691
Yes I know. Born to Australian parents in UK. They moved back to Perth Aus when Tim was young
@@joed7691
Yup, I forgot re Tim.. So many well known and non famous people came here to Aus, not that long ago. I need reminding who came and when lol. I feel like my ancestors have been here generations , but my grandparents were first gen Aussies from England, Ireland and before that Scotland.
After seeing him live in melbourne last October I flew to Perth to see his show last week and met Tim. He's just a nice bloke and he scribbled long haired lefty joker on my arm and signed it so I immediately had it turned into a tattoo
You need to find an interview with him and hear him talk about his look and why he developed it. He is hilarious and an amazing talent. He learned piano by ear, and doesn't know how to read music. It's pure talent.
The Beatles were like that, too.
Also watch him as Judas in JC Superstar.
Great review. May I suggest you check out “Lullaby” . It shows off Tim’s hilarious dark humour, his great voice, amazing orchestration and again his brilliant piano skills . Not too long either.
Thanks! I love me some comedy, so I'll definitely check it out
@@musicaljayden 👍
He also performed F Sharp where he likes to play in F Major (Technically D Minor) but sing in F Sharp
simply insane.
Hi Jayden, Tim also filled (over 2 nights) Royal Albert Hall in London backed The Heritage Orchestra, the entire show is just super-human 🥰
AWESOME!
Tim Minchin is a comedian who plays piano, if you want to see him go and see one of his performances. I saw him in Manchester about 14 years ago, he was alright
Brilliant people like brilliance. I'm glad you found Tim Minchin. I play something by him everyday. I find he inspires courage to aspire.
Thank you! and I agree he really does inspire.
What a brilliant and insightful reaction :) Also, yeah the clapping on beat lol I mean you can hear they are off but I mean this guy changes tempo so frequently it's enough to make a metronome implode lol
LOL thanks!!
Wait…Atticus Fetch plays piano too??? 😂😂. Tim Minchin is a multilevel genuis! TM for PM, I say….
Great, great reaction!
Been a Tim Minchin fan for years and your commentary is superb!
Thank you!
You have to watch his comedy songs, like lullaby, thank you god, even his poetry bet song called Storm, he has also written musicals, he is Australian and we are very proud of him, or even his speech he gave to graduating students at the university he attended in Western Australia called 9 life lessons.
I reacted to a comedy song! Here it is: czcams.com/video/nO1p_lVfxcA/video.htmlsi=pu6jzcmpRGvgSPwU
He also plays Judas for Jesus Christ Superstar, so he is an amazing singer.
Damn this was unexpectedly awesome. I don't find myself jamming out to piano ever
This was done entirely improv at one appearance he did.
Tim is described as British Australian although he identifies as an Australian. His parents are from Perth Western Australia and he was born in Northampton UK when they lived there. They moved back to Australia when he was 12 months old. I've only ever seen him in Australia but I know he's done shows in the UK. He's immensely talented.
Just saw Tim play tonight at The Regal Theatre in Perth, Western Australia (3rd March 2024). To see him perform live in an intimate setting is next level wonderful 😍
Hey dude, youtube just recommended your video cause i've been watching a lot of Tim recently. Great content ! They are a lot of really interesting songs from Tim that you can review if you are inspired by his performance.
Every song by Tim is interesting 🥰
Found here by chance seeing Your article Entertaining Piano.Somehow I've never heard of Tim but have to see more of his stuff, thanks for this.
Another great piano guy worth checking out, if You haven't done it before is PETER BENCE.
I've never seen him tour. Stuck just watching online.
i’m right there with you man, sucks :/
Great to see your joy. 👌💥☮️
🤗
Reach out to him bruvvy, the worst is "not interested" the rest could be written in history.
Saw him live at the begi ni g of his current tour in Melbourne' in October and flying across country to catch the end of the tour in perth
Watch Tim’s song “Prejudice” it’s really clever. There’s also a version that he performed with Ed Sheeren. (You will get why 😁)
I watched it!!!! Great suggestion thanks: czcams.com/video/nO1p_lVfxcA/video.htmlsi=pu6jzcmpRGvgSPwU
Did you know Minchin performed in Jesus Christ Superstar as Judas, wrote the musical Matilda and the TV series Upright? His talent is awesome!
Not bad on the piano, had some lessons when young..but mostly self taught..
Minchin became a comedy performer because he wasn't getting any traction as a straight musician/performer or composer. Then he transititioned into acting and then musicals and almost into directing an animated feature but apparently the production company canned it after like 2 years and 40m spent. Anyway, he's primarily a music man. But he got range.
What a smart move! he really knows his strengths
Sooooo...do ww get more videos of you discovering Tim Mimchin or is it too late?
it’s never too late! thinking of doing a video watching his “musical comedy” and i have some other videos watching people really similar to Tim that u should check out 😊
Check out the full version and I'll subscribe. That was just a tease.
You mentioned his outfit. Check out his feet, he plays barefoot.
... at this point, im not even surprised LOL
You really have to check out the entire performance
I WILL!
I'm not sure if this is the one but the audience propously clapps off time to tease Tim, haven't checked until the end but in that one he even calls them out in a part lol i read it happened a few times on stage
yep! happened in this video, hilarious moment
Really enjoyed your reaction to this! I've been a huge fan of Tim Minchin's work for years, he's an absolute genius, that's the only way to describe it! You might also enjoy this clip from a British musical comedian, Bill Bailey. Cockneys are people who live in London within earshot of a particular church's bells. They have a very strong sense of culture and identity, and even have even evolved their own musical style (for example, Chas & Dave). Hope you enjoy his take on classical music through the eyes of a Cockney musician! czcams.com/video/ssEQKD2izxY/video.html
Thanks! I'll check it out
TIM Minchin is the MAN! he is also a comedian, singer and all around hilarious dude! Also as another aspiring musician, love the vids! You should react to Tigran Hamasayan next. This guy is jazz but almost metal but for sure jazz. You'll get a kick out of his stuff. Check out Out of the grid from the Mockroot album.
I AGREE AND Thanks for the suggestions!
I took your suggestion! Here's the video:

If you like piano comedy, try Victor Borge: czcams.com/video/dKeqaDSjy98/video.html or czcams.com/video/YhP6K44jOtk/video.html, though he hardly ever finishes a song :)
Thanks for the suggestion!!
Dude ! You talk too much, let the music play !!!!!
