Lag Theory: The game logic for auto-poms excludes higher level poms so that levels get more evenly distributed. When you've got only a super high level pom, it repeats that loop over and over until it no longer meets the threshold for being exlcuded.
I think the reason the game lags during the end with Mom's keepsake is because the selection algorithm for it probably doesn't want to select Heartbreak Strike because of how high level it is but it can't find anything else so it gets stuck in a logic loop for a second
@@Haelian Flower does prioritize low or un-pommed boons. in my experience it never hits a boon above lvl 3 or 4 unless all other boons are above that. Had a run where of all things it kept lvling up different league or dying lament (cant remember) bc it was the only other pommable boon than my already lvl 4 special and cast.
That was my initial thought too. But a 2018-2020ish game wouldnt struggle even if it had to run the entire list of boons possible; so there must be some sort of AI trying to determine what boon deserves to be upgraded and its getting messed up. Not just a "this boons level is too high" system; but a proper "this boon has been used; this one hasnt; etc" AI fighting with the only boon selectable and ovbiously being too high. Those were some pretty serious lag spikes a simple AI shouldnt have.
I really really liked the small commentary at the beginning of the video. It really helped me understand exactly where you're going, which sometimes takes a while to work out. Please put more of those in your future videos!! :D

Haelian, could you do a video on those sorts of hidden mechanics, like you talked about getting two Hermes boons to stop them from being offered or Minibosses giving better chances for Duals / Legendary boons. I've heard you describe things as like getting a Good Tartarus or something in the past. I know some of it only really applies to going fast, but I feel like there's a lot of hidden mechanical stuff with the way things are offered / ordered etc. that would be fascinating. Thanks!
Ive watched a few of your Hades fights now, and i swear that the hit detection on his lasers has a 20% chance to just straight up ignore level geometry. Ive been hit by wall piercing lasers so many times its ridiculous

I get the part where boon has to be poseidon because of keepsake, and I figure it can't be health, pom or gold because they were the other options on show. But why couldn't it be a hammer? Can you not get second hammer until Elysium?

7:24 I'm not 100% familiar with this game but I feel like by not taking the attack speed you miss out on a lot of damage due to the multiplicative interaction between attack speed and damage.
depends on what duos. If you have Ares and Zeus trial for example, you won't get an Ares Zeus duo. But you can get an Ares and Artemis duo, or any other god that isn't Zeus.
If the whole point of this run was to maximize a single boon, can someone explain to me why he didn’t use Pom blossom? Sorry if he explains that at some point

You only want Artemis on special for Chiron, Aphro is better than Artemis on attack because it gives a higher percentage bonus, and on Zagreus aspect you’re already likely to crit
@@Coran_06 Hmmm...it's been a while since I've played with chiron. (I like rama as my favorite bow aspect and i definitely prefer artemis builds on rama.) I'll try out aphro on chiron attack to refresh my memory but i feel like twin shot with artemis + hunter's mark is superior to any artemis-chiron attack oriented build (even one with heart rend).
@@sam.k.classic Idk because you’re using the special more with Chiron, I prefer having just a higher percentage for the attack, and it with heart rend it increases your crit chance. Stack the special with all the Artemis boons like hunters Mark, clean kill, support fire, etc and it does really good damage.

You get it when you forge a bond with the character who gave you the keepsake (keep giving gifts).
I think charm is borked. I had a similar issue where charmed would just make the enemy pause and then attack faster than they normally would have.
Seems fine against regular enemies because it lasts a while but I never saw the appeal vs bosses

Attack speed doesn't affect the fire rate of charging the bow

It's a rank system that shows up when Persephone goes back to Hades. You spend resources to increase your rank to a shade called resource director.

depends on what duos. If you have Ares and Zeus trial for example, you won't get an Ares Zeus duo. But you can get an Ares and Artemis duo, or any other god that isn't Zeus.
If the trial has both the gods you need for a duo, you won't see the duo on the first God you pick up, only the second one

There are only 4 possible reward options for silver-leafed doors and you can't roll into the same reward, thus Nectar was the only possibility.

He uses a different item at the beginning to guarantee aphrodite to set up the Sweet Nectar duo boon for the double poms later.

I did! But I also knew I might need to use the aphro or Poseidon keepsake in asphodel to get the duo, thus I saved pom blossom.

Charm is very diminished against bosses, probably like 1 second or less...
