10 How To Train Your Dragon Theories So Crazy They Might Be True

- Could any of these How To Train Your Dragon fan theories actually be true?? The How To Train Your Dragon movie franchise just won’t quit: each movie is more beloved than the last. It almost never happens and sequels and threequals are just as adored as the original movie, and yet the team behind this story about a boy and his dragon have never missed. Fans love the movies so much, they want to know everything about them, including all the details that are hidden from plain sight! They have come up with some seriously wild theories about our pals Toothless and Hiccup, and some of them might just change the way you see these movies forever. Like the theory that both the Armorwing and Boneknapper dragons are actually the same, or at least close relatives! Or how about the theory that Drago’s cloak is made of Night Fury hide, and he’s partially responsible for why there are so few left. There’s a theory that Toothless actually can fly without Hiccup but chooses not to, and one that wonders if he has actually been an Alpha since the first movie. Some fans believe that Hiccup’s coma lasted way longer than a day, and that everything that happened in the TV series was actually a dream! Some think that The Riders are smarter than they appear, and that it’s possible that Night Furies aren’t extinct after all! There is a theory that Toothless doesn’t know Hiccup hurt him in the first place, and one that thinks that Toothless actually ate his friend’s leg! Each theory more out-there than the next, and that’s exactly why fans are the best.

Another thing about the “Toothless Doesn’t Know Hiccup shot him down.” In Race to the Edge, there is an episode where the riders fantasize about how everything would have happened without war. At the end, Hiccup says that none of this would have happened if he had not shot down Toothless in the first place. Toothless doesn’t seem so fazed by this, indicating that he did in fact know that Hiccup was the one to shoot him down.
And he straight up tells his mom the story and it doesn’t faze toothless
And hiccup told toothless that he never regrets shooting him down and toothless growled
Hell he straight up said in part 2, he was the one who did it
and he also mentioned how he shot him down in the second movie to his mother, and toothless was smiling
I agree
Toothless understands every word Hiccup says. Each of his reactions to what Hiccup talks about proves that. And even, after Hiccup told his mother about how he is the one who shot Toothless down, his immidiate reaction was like "I don't care bout that anymore OuO" not a know nothing face
exactly also it was mentioned in the edge
and toothless laughs so he is obviously aware of what the others say too. like when he laughed at the twins "the last leg" joke
@@nicolalittlewood2298 that was hilarious 😂 especially when hiccup tells him not to laugh bc he's above that. Lol.
ngl all the dragons can understand english
Btw toothless does know because in the series how to train your dragon Thier is a episode when hiccup say s if I had not shoot toothless down in front of toothless
Love the "but we see toothless flying straight up without hiccup!" Yeah, still has wings mate. You don't need a tail to fly 3 feet into the air.
Yeah it’s just like chickens, they can’t fly but they can use their wings to boost themselves up on something like a fence
Yeah we saw that in the first movie as he was trying to fly lol. Idk why they thought it was that crazy of a theory it's literally just a boost.
That's true to me just kind of jumped plus his tail was locked in place at that time
@@Coolkid99880 Chickens definitely can fly it’s just that humans have fattened them up so much that most chickens can’t fly.
@@grapeguy69 true wild chickens do fly, but domestic chickens don’t. Not because their too fat, tho it can contribute, it’s because selective breeding of humans made it so they have bigger body’s and smaller wings. This can vary based on the breed of chickens too.
Love how many of these "theories" are disproven in the third film
an this film as well lmao
Fr
Like "drago killed the night furies" lmao but also smh
Lol ya
The last theory is definitely not real
“Night fury’s can fly for long distances”
“The hidden world” night fury’s can’t fly far for long
But Toothless CAN fly long distances. Perhaps because he and Hiccup fly every day, he is stronger then most. Grim also said night furies couldn't stand the cold...... Toothless Played in the snow. Perhaps Grim was wrong about several other things too. We can hope there is at least one "nest" of Night Furies still living, somewhere. After all Toothless has three youngsters that will need mates. And I only saw two Light Furies other then Toothless's mate. And one was an adult. Plus Toothless and his "lady" are young dragons. They could have several more dragon children, esp. since dragons lay eggs...... usually in clutches. For that matter Hiccup and Astrid are only about 30, they also could have several more children.
i thought the same thing
@@pstill9618 I don't think Hiccup will have mor kids though. I mean, they don't have to. They aren't animals. That's my opinion though.
@@bubbleteabeatboxx Remember what time Vikings lived in. Hiccup is the Chief. Sickness in the time of the Vikings killed entire families. So, people had large families, knowing that not all of their children would survive to adulthood. Plus, they're Vikings...... battle, with sharp pointy weapons happened, also storms at sea. So, I would think Hiccup and Astrid MIGHT have a few more children. They Are being smart, and spacing the children several years apart, so Astrid stays healthy. No pre-natal vitamins available, back in those days.
Yep
In the 3rd movie Astrird mentions that toothless hated the wing hiccup made for him which allowed him to fly by himself. Therefore, the events in the show did happen and were not dreams
Ya but when he made the self flying wing that was in the short film, not the show. So maybe it was after the coma.
I think in the video they said it was from Riders/Defenders of Berk. 'Gift of the night fury' wasnt part of that
Thats an Actual Movie not an episode from the show, Its a Christmas special movie
Yes but it wasn't in the series, it was where they celebrated Thanksgiving/Christmas and this was also the time where the dragons would pair so ye
I think it was both Gift of the Night Fury and Riders/Defenders of Berk. They repeated the story.
Hiccup was a member of Vikings. When you look around the village it doesn’t seem to be rare for people to loose parts of their body. I think for Hiccup it was actually something usual to see and easier accept
I have a really good argument against the Hiccup's dream theory. When Eret tells the riders about Grimmel in the third movie, he describes him as a villain that likes to get into the mind of his prey and control its choices and that everything is a game to him. That he is a very smart dragon hunter. Hiccup then says "we've dealt with his kind before". If nothing from the shows is canon, then who is Hiccup talking about? Drago? It can't be because Drago is the complete opposite kind of person to what Eret describes Grimmel to be. But Viggo Grimborn from Race to the Edge matches every single one of the things Eret describes about Grimmel and is much closer to being of Grimmel's "kind" than Drago, who is the only person Hiccup could possibly be talking about if only the movies were canon. Hiccup's single line about dealing with a cunning, manipulative dragon hunter in the past singlehandedly makes the shows canon, because Viggo Grimborn is the only hunter Hiccup could possibly be talking about that matches Eret's description of Grimmel's "kind". And if Viggo is canon, so is Race to the Edge, and if Race to the Edge is canon, so is Riders and Defenders because Race to the Edge is kickstarted by Dagur escaping from prison after being captured at the end of Defenders.
(Plus, this is a little bit of personal headcanon, but in Hiccup's closing narration in the second movie, he mentions how their enemies have armies and armadas, which I take as a reference to Riders and Defenders since Alvin had an army of Outcasts, and Dagur was notorious for his enormous armada). (Not to mention, the third movie also confirms Gift of the Night Fury is canon because Astrid tells Hiccup when he's making Toothless' new tail, "you tried it once before. He didn't want it." I absolutely love that they snuck these obscure, one-liner references to the shows in that only the more dedicated fans are going to catch.) And to be fair about Hiccup not seeming bothered that he lost his leg, he's a Viking and most of the village seems to be missing at least one limb, so it doesn't seem to be all that uncommon and occurence that you might actually be expecting to happen at some point in your life if you were born in this universe
Thissss!!
yeah also the vikings are shown to be stronger than normal humans such as stoick ragdolling thousand pound dragons so they also prob heal fasteer.
but also it doesnt make sense how in the shows, the rest of the gang has great character developmen but in the second and third movie their thrown aside as annoying side characters yk
@@coolmanpantsman yeah, but at least to me, they're not annoying in the movies. They're mostly just doing what they've always done for over 100 episodes. The personalities are still the same, the way they function as a team on and off the battlefield still feels the same
@@jneumy566 true, ig my main point is that we dont see much or any of their character growth that happened in the shows eg. the twins being a lot smarter than they look, snotlout being compassionate and fishlegs being a macho viking; in the movies
Drago killed all the night furies!
Httyd 3: oh hell nah
It was skinny santa that killed them
Hell na
@@sauc3monke599 I never thought "skinny Santa" would be how I would ever see him described xD
@Zappyjr along with his scorpion-doggie pets
What if they are brothers?
3:00 “He flew up without hiccup” *Thats. called. jumping.*
Also bruh, legit. Got no notifs of likes or comments on this and checking 2 years later, this is my most seen comment so thanks yall.
Yep
True
Those types of people need to be hidden away from society
Oh boy another genius. (Not you, the channel)
Ikr hehehe
I can completely Unconfirm the "Hiccup in a coma/Dream" theory, in one of the episodes and Dragons race to the edge [Which is cannon] hiccup mentions 'Tornado' [Stoicks old dragon] to stoick and in How to Train Your Dragon 2 we can see skullcrusher [Or bone crusher I can't remember the name] was introduced in that movie and in the third movie
2 another reference to race to the edge, in one of the episodes where the Skrill comes back Hiccup and the Gang try to trap it the same way they did in Riders of Berk [or Defenders of Berk] but the Skrill remembers that trap instead traps Hiccup and Toothless in the ice cave
So I'm pretty sure Hiccup wasn't in a dream or a coma during Riders/Defenders of Berk
Another one is in the episode when Snotlout has to take an axe to his father's wedding. As he took it, Astrid and Hiccup mentioned multiple instances where he was irresponsible, such as releasing the Skrill and getting stuck in a tornado, both of which happened in the Riders series.
O and drago was in the last ep! And idk what else I just saw 2 scenes- so it's not real
@@tristan5729 ah yes yes!!!
Also Alvin, savage and Dagur being in both series referencing their history with hiccup
@@tristan5729 Was literally just coming to add something like that. It also makes the events of the second film even sadder because Hiccup saved both alphas, only to watch the parent kill its offspring and have the parent kill his dad 😔
I don't want to be annoying, but i can depower almost all of these theories
The first one is intriguing, however.
The boneknapper and armourwing have similarities beyond their habits. Limbs, muscle structures, eyes, horns, etc.
That being said, I completely agree! ^^
@@AndorRadnai Yeah, that one is probably true
Yeah
@Gabriele puglisi yes
Agreed. And quite a few of these theories are debunked by the third movie, oddly enough...
Toothless knew Hiccup shot him down. Hiccup said so when he found Tothless all tangeled in his net. He also said " I Did this, I did this." After deciding Not to kill Toothless. So Hiccup cut Toothless free, expecting him to fly away. This was before they made friends. Also a good reason why Toothless screamed in Hiccup's face, he was letting Hiccup know just how mad he was - short of killing him. I believe Toothless forgave Hiccup, because Hiccup did everything withing his ability to "fix" Toothless's tail and helped him fly again.. When Gobber said " A Downed dragon is a dead dragon" in the first movie, Hiccup stayed up all night making Toothless a new tail fin. And then was thrilled that it worked. Hiccup was still learning his smithing trade, he built what he could at the time. The older Hiccup got, the more improvements he made.
But, as Screen Rant said, Toothless may not be able to understand what Hiccup is saying.
@@sock91 I'm, sure he understood him
@@Perceptence yeah he literally said “Actually I’M the one that’s shot him down”
Imma bout to destroy the "toothless can fly theory".
Seen in the first film, toothless can fly, he just can't coordinate. Which was why he was trapped in the coven. He would beat his wings a few times to get himself hovering, but he couldn't dive up, as seen in literally every series and movie's. When a dragon flies, it launches itself up then proceeds in any direction. Without coordination, they cannot go in any direction. Hence, they can fly, but can't hover.
I think when he flu up in the second movie, he was just jumping, but he flapped his wings to get higher then just normal jumping. This proves he can't really fly
Tear Drops me to
Toothless did not be able to fly when hiccup shot him down and in hidden world hiccup gave toothless a tail wing so he can be with the light fury
Do it
This worm is smart
“The episodes were dreams that hiccup had while in a coma” But in the episodes, Stoik got Skull-crusher which can be seen in the 2nd movie
I think that Toothless’s tail fins are actually just vital for steering. So when he flew straight up, he didn’t need much steering, and so he was able to fly straight up
toothless's body is longer than most other dragons, so he needs some other support to keep him balanced in the air
Toothless does know. Watch Race to the Edge. He says “you know I’ll never regret shooting you down bud” then toothless growls at him
Whitefang 73005 yep Screen Rant really need to rewatch all the How to train your Dragons Movies
Looks like screen rant hasn't done their research
Yes!! I was scrolling to see if this was in the comments. *phew*
Race to the edge was pretty great series
Lol that was hilarious 😂
They need to make a how to train your Dragon 4,5,6,7,8,9,10 because they are GOOD
Treska Stinson-Jenkins 3 was sadly the end
Yea but what would they be about
@@vaandcakes4917 i think the Toothless/Hiccup saga had a beautiful ending. But i love the universe, and do believe they should make more stories in this universe.
The ending of how to train your dragon 3 was horrible because it made it impossible for the storyline to go forward without making hiccup die or age. They made him a Father, its impossible for us to relate to him anymore. But i would definitely like a httyd 4, 5, 6, 7, and so on, more episodes and stuff.
They only planned 3 movie
Theory 2. No he can not be responsible for killing most the nightfurry's because in the 3rd movie the main protagonist said he killed every last one of them except for hiccups.
He also said that night furies can't fly for long distances so theory 8 aint true either
I'm pretty sure you meant antagonist. Protagonists are the main heros of the movies/books/etc while antagonist is their enemy
@@UrMentalHealth of course he meant that
I think that drago could possibly have hunted and killed a night fury or 2 to make the cloak, but its unlikely that he wouldve killed every last one
6:50 who said fish legs wasn’t smart? He was like the smartest one of them all
how is fishlegs not smart. He is the one that reads all the time to study dragons
I think he's dragon smart but that's about it.
He is book smart, but he isn't innovative and creative like hiccup but they are both smart.
Spacezone yep he is sooo...Smart he read the book of Dragons 5 times in a row from the part 1
THANK YOU
This is 100 percent true
One of the theories say toothless can fly but in the climax I can’t be the only one who sees he just jumped
What do you mean in climax?
ikr
Yes your right, for example a helicopter can't fly without the propeller in the back
Because of his messed up tail toothless can fly up but cant steer.
He got a automatic tail
Hiccup's coma and Rider's plan are both canon, not theories. Also, Toothless understands exactly what Hiccup means and knows that Hiccup shot him down, but didn't eat his leg as both Gobber and Stoic react like it was burnt off in the fall rather than ripped away, which would immediately arouse suspicion
For dragos night fury skin it’s confirmed that in 3rd movie the white hair dude killed of night furies
all of these Theories can be debunked by “Dragons: Race To The Edge” and HTTYD 3
Haha 😄
EXACTLY! All these theories (except probably the first one) are completely incorrect.
I mean hiccup confirms the last theory in httyd 2
Ok, but half of the nightfury location could be true
@@jeffflowers4701 not really we see in httyd 2 Valka draws a map of what seems to be all of earth which debunks the fact of other night furies existing since each movie we see the world expanding and new locations and valka spent 20 years of her life exploring the world. This theory could be debunked since in RTTE we see at least 2 dramilions use a plasma blast meaning they’ve encountered a night fury or could have been learned from toothless since the island the dramilions lived wasn’t fully explored by the group but was mapped so there is a chance of their being maybe 1 or a few of them since valka somehow knew of toothless secret abilities or the last night furies where all killed before the events of the 1st movie considering how rare they were and are since no character we’ve seen has encountered a night fury besides toothless from the movies and the CN and Netflix series
3:03 Toothless doesn’t fly alone. It might look like it but all he does is leap, catching the wind with his wings briefly that lets him jump onto a higher platform.
true
Yes
Aka a launch
I think the bone knapper and the armorwing are the exact same dragon species, they just use different materials for their armour.
I don’t think they are the exact same species, as there are some differences, I do think they are very very closely related but armor wing has a very very hot fire hence welding mettle, while boneknapper instead of fire it has the roar. There are some other slight differences.
10:00 Toothless do know because when he was in the cave he's mother wondered how did the tale and then when Hiccup told her he did it then Toothless reacted
If I complain like this to my family, they'd say:
"It's a movie"
My dad would agree with me
You can complain to me
Same
Yea some people dont get it like us
Same man complain away
If I remember correctly, toothless grabbed his leg to pull him under his wing to save him, so the leg could have been infected and had to be amputated
infection doesn't spread that fast. besides fire would have killed any. Would have just been burned off in the explosion
I mean this could be true but it could’ve just not been an infection but just serious injury that led to them having to take it off because his father didn’t react at all towards his leg or anything so... maybe
@@lazygrowl7964 I think it’s a bit of both since toothless biting him would have left a wound leading to severe blood loss while being heated by the explosion which would lead to a infection and injury since we know he lost his leg and a infection can be caused from blood loss and heat and we don’t know much about dragon Saliva since we know a buffolords saliva can heal people so hiccup could have gotten some infection from toothless saliva which could contain some sort of bacteria that could harm a person since we know certain body parts on dragons can be dangerous just like how a razor whips eyes are poisonous and a speed stinger tail has a paralyzing sting and a slither wing has venom all over it’s under belly so they could have cut hiccups leg from injuries and infection and we also know that infections can go through a Vikings body fast because of the skurgekilling Vikings in 3 days
In The Hidden World, Hiccup did say "you just had to get even with me eh?" S(something along the lines) which would suggest that
@@user-ew9mc2rg1l that was in the second movie when hiccup was with his mom in the bewilderbeast home
maybe Toothless ate Hiccups leg because it was so badly burned that Toothless knew that if he left it it would kill Hiccup from infection
Infact, Toothless actually knows. It is in one episode, Hiccup said, “I will never regret shooting you down bud, i- you know what i mean.” So ya!
I always assumed Toothless accidentally bit his leg off as he was trying to save him. He dives straight down and Hiccup’s legs were up and his head was down so Toothless reached for the closest thing, he caught him but the damage was bad enough that he lost the leg.
Cangel Tibon
It was most likely that Toothless couldn't cover ALL of Hiccup, and so his leg was left outside of Toothless' wings and got burnt so bad Gobber had to amputate it.
Yeah I think that toothless wouldnt risk hiccup dead but to save him whit the closest thing wich was a legg.
Thank You!!
I agree to the saving part which kind make sense cause some times if people use -math- or science making this this comment kinda proves the statment of Hiccup's damage yet Badass leg
You are right about that he didn't eat it

Grimmel said he killed all the nightfurys so drago cant have

I think grimmel works with Drago Bludfist
"It was all in his dream and he actually has two legs"
You do realize that would mean the whole 3 movies would be his dream right?
and second
The dream theory can't be real because the tail wasn't presented until he woke up
Another theory is that toothless accidentally ate hiccups leg when he falls in the first movie because toothless try to save him and his foot is nearest so he bites it so he can protect him from the fire as fast as possible

HELP THE LAST ONE LMAOO-
For the last theory I think when toothless saved hiccup in the first movie he tried to grab hiccups leg then accidentally ripped it off
It was the closest thing he could grab. but He never would intentionally hurt Hiccup
clearly just another channel that doesn't get their facts straight LOL.. but nice try
True
Totally.
Tru dat
People say that When hiccup was falling into the fire the only way toothless could save him is by grabbing his leg because hiccup was going head first into the flames so toothless had to pull hiccup up wich took his leg off. Because if he had his teeth in hiccup would slide from his mouth. Sounds decent to me lol.
Bro toothless jumped onto the block of ice
8:34 but his mother literally discovers all the world and still says toothless might be one of its last kind ..... ??
Fictional injury protagonist survives: *exists*
Theorists: hes in a coma the entire time
of course toothless knows that Hiccup shot him down as it was mentioned in the edge
And in httyd 2
And the first movie
The leg thing makes sense because in the second movie hiccup says that toothless got him back but maybe it was an accident maybe he had to do it in order to save him
If Toothless grabbed Hiccup's leg with his teeth to save him from falling, biting the leg off would just cause Hiccup to fall and die
Maybe toothless was holding toothless leg in his mouth with a tight grip to make sure he doesn’t die but in doing so he causes serious injury to his leg so it has to be amputated
Over half of these are either proven one way or another or just plain wrong. jesus this channel has gone downhill
Saying it has gone down hill implies this channel was once good with I think it never has been so I have to disagree with you there

9:23 actually....... In race to the edge there's an entire episode dedicated to this, and hiccup openly talks about how he shot toothless down. The thing is.... He was talking TO toothless. This completely disproves this theory
did you forget it might be a dream
@@st00piddude83 it wasn't a dream because in the final season of the edge, they're trying to find the king of dragons. Also, so much happens in that final season that it gives clear context to alot of unanswered questions in the second movie. So. No. The edge was not a dream.
Bro, the night furies are the quickest dragons as you said but they can't go big distances. If you remember, the bad guy from the 3rd movie said that night furies can't go big distances so they would have to stop somewhere to rest and that's how he new where they were going.
For the last part I have a personal favorite reason, shortly before the end of the first movie, when Hiccup his falling down, Toothless rushes to catch him, maybe then he does that by biting Hiccup leg, and then covering him with his body and wings
Wait, the toothless not being the last of the night furies? I swear in the third film, they said Night Furies can't fly long distances and can't survive cold temperatures?
Or do I remember wrong?
You remember correctly, but you may not want to include spoilers as most Americans haven't seen it yet :)
This isn't really that much of a spoiler, but you may wanna be careful :)
Andrew Blake
He is the last. Remember when Dean confirmed Toothless is the last?
Elder Fire
Actually he is not the last, is you have watched httyd 3 or at least the trailer then you would know that there’s toothless and the lightfury
Pavel Dede Actually, I think the Light Fury may just be a SUBSPECIES of a dragon like the night fury.
Kinda like how the Bengal and Sumatran tiger are both tigers but different subspecies.
In the third movie it is said that grim the hunter killed off the night furies because when four captains said" that one must have slip through his hands"
Grimmel and 3 captains
During valkas and hiccups conversation toothless makes a face that says: "wait YOU shot me down?"
DUDE THE THEORY THAT HE ATE HIS LEG IS HILARIOUS
With Every TV Show And Movie There's Always A Theory That The Protagonist Is In A Coma Or That The Entire Series Or Movie Is A Dream
I know right, look at life on mars TV show
The hiccup coma theory is just a wannabe Ash's(from the pokemon anime) coma theory.
Its NOT a dream
Yes that's true, but why did you capitalize every word in your comment?
2:03 He isn’t because Grimmel is. He killed all nightfurys except Toothless
Correct
This was before 3 was released
10:30
it may also be due to the fact that the snout was closest to the hiccup when falling, the paws are not very suitable for a stable grip if you know what I mean
He probably wouldve been in shock and too out of energy to react from waking up from the coma..
I think Toothless knew but didn’t care, for Hiccup tried to help him after. Sure that is a old dragon hunter trick but, dragon hunters NEVER repaired the injury. So, Toothless was ok with Hiccup even though he tore his tail. But when Toothless tried to save Hiccup from the fire he couldn’t reach him in time and grabbed the closest thing to him, Hiccups leg. And when Toothless yanked Hiccup’s leg so he could protect him it snapped off. But, the force Toothless had used to pull Hiccup’s leg to save him had thrown Hiccup up into his wings.
If you watch how to train your dragon race to the edge it explains the transition between the first and second movie
Riders of berk race to the edge and defenders of berk all take place before the second movie in between the 5 year jump with race to the edge transitioning us to the second one
Your right the httyd race to the edge took a little too long because if u watch the 6th season it's so good 👍
But because of the 6th season making it took 1.5 years 🙄
For the theory about toothless not knowing, in the first movie when hiccup sees he shot him down ( I’m not sure the exact line ) he says “I killed a dragon”. Aswell as the second movie where he says in front of toothless that it’s his fault. I’m pretty sure toothless knows
Hiccup doesn’t only mention shooting toothless down once . He mentions it a lot of times in dragons race to the edge
6:17
actually no the fire sword was made in the series and the blacksmith's dragon (i forgot there names) was found and hiqqup would have grown a beard.
Also hiccups father got the rumblehorn during ther series.
Gobber's dragon is named Grump
The sword was made in the 2nd series, long after Hiccup's recovery.
dragons race to the edge is when the fire sword was made and gobber found grump
THAT WAS RACE TO THE EDGE
Nah to the last theory....toothless bit his leg off due to him not being able to save hiccup in the first movie, he wanted to save hiccup but was only able to grab onto his leg.
he could've recurgitate that if that was the case
@@azer2926 just because it was regurgitated it doesn't mean it was salvageable
@@azer2926 Oh yeah, a little bit of duct tape will fix that right up.
The fire burned his leg!!!
biting it clean off wouldnt have saved Hiccup. It got mangled when Toothless grabbed it, and it had to get amputated.
toothless DOES know hiccup shot him down. in the second movie while hiccup is talking to his mother he reveals that he shot down toothless and in turn ruining his tail, and that toothless got "payback" by accidently taking hiccup's leg. and toothless's reaction was calm. also i dont remember where but at one point in the movies or the series hiccup mentions to toothess "hey bud maybe it was good that i shot you down" toothless gets annoyed and smacks him gently on the head knowing already who shot him down.
These movies are sooooo good, they HAVE to have more
I’m pretty much down with all the theories except the “it was all a dream” theory. And also, the “toothless doesn’t know what he’s saying”. That makes no sense to me, Toothless has been seen reacting as if he understands human conversation perfectly, so why would “I’m the one who shot him down” be the exception?
I agree, and the expression on Hiccup’s face could be actually normal for him, because he lives in a time where amputation was an actual thing and see that everywhere you go and everyday as a kid, I don’t think Hiccup would take it much as any surprised, a little shocked, but not as much to cause a panic. Plus, this is a kids movie, they’re not going to end it with Hiccup panicking about losing a foot
Ber Bear Great points. Kids would probably be traumatized if they saw him running around acting hysterical like a person normally would.
Guys, he just woke up. He's probably more worried about getting a snack and taking a poop...
I think he actually knew that hiccup who shot him down..What i understand about toothless behavior in HTTYD 1,Toothless want to revenge on hiccup at first(consider that toothless understand human language).when hiccup raised his knife toward toothless,he said that he couldnt kill toothless..Instead he saved toothless and let him free..As toothless had free,he just screamed to him(let go of his anger toward hiccup)...Well,might want to say that he want to do the same as hiccup does..give him chance to live...Well that my theory about toothless..I really love this movie because toothless had similar with cat..Am i right😁
I dont like it was a dream theory either and the toothless cant understand humans
The thing is, if toothless bit off hiccups leg he would've burned right away in the fire.
With the leg situation it was more of when toothless grabbing the closest thing he could 5:08 like he just needed to pull his leg in to actually get to hiccup but in the process he tore it off
i remember somewhere that hiccup was apologizing for shooting him down
How to train your dragon pitch meeting??????
YES PLEASE
It should be super easy, barely an inconvenience.
Losing limbs is tight
At 8:14 press pause and look at the buttons that hold his furry cape thing. If you look it is a night fury. I do not know if this is Toothless, but SECRETS REVEALED
10:16 it’s probably not bit it off he probably ripped it off, if you pause at the point where you see hiccup falling to the fire you can see toothless’s head is further away from hiccup but toothless’s leg isn’t, toothless had to think and he had to pull hiccup back under him to protect the human(hiccup). I also believe this because his torso would be more burnt than his feet as he fell torso first into the fire :D
The "Does Toothless Know" is not true. in How To Train Your Dragon: Race to the Edge. Theres an episode where hiccup said "I would never forget how i shot you bud." Toothless was mad. but quickly goes calm when hiccup said "I'm just kidding." the theory of toothless doesn't know that hiccup shotted him is not true.
It may be so that the events of riders of berk wasn't mentioned in HTTYD 2 or 3 but they were metioned in dragons race to the edge and that is the prequel to HTTYD 2
Nightfurys cant fly long distances. They literally say that in How to train your dragon 3. Screen rant you are saying so many false facts. I'm sorry but upload things if you actually know stuff about them like Marvel. You're telling everyone lies.
My theory as for why he lost his leg is that Toothless needed to pick him up from a limb to stop the fall and that limb was the leg, but he bit it so hard he ripped the shin off before embracing the rest of the body with the rest of the wings to break the fall.
10:05 in Dragons RTTE Hiccup says to Toothless: You know that I never regret shooting you down and Toothless growls on him with an upset face.
With the leg thing I think toothless bit off his leg while trying to save him from the fire because in the scene you can see toothless is to far from hiccup to wrap around him and he had to pull hiccup towards him and hit off leg by accident
Watch the video how hiccup really lost his leg it suggests them same thing
@@amalgamatenull5167 not really the same thing the video says it was intentional which would indicate revenge. This comment is suggesting it was an accident in which case Toothless was trying to save Hiccup no matter what.
Yes I agree
I never thought about it that way. You might be right.
See that's true
as for the theory about night furies not being native to berk, i think it might tie in with the theory about drago hunting the night furies to near extinction. If he hunted them within the arcepelago and a certain extent just outside of it, they would most likely move away from the arcepelago and find new places to live. They could very well have just been scared away from the area accessible to hiccup, and they may one day migrate back when they realize its safe. When toothless leads the dragons to the hidden world, he could also be leading them to a place where the night furies have been living. To extend this theory, toothless may not be considered and alpha by the other night furies. If all night furies have his abilities and to the same extent, its possible that he could just be ordinary, and that a stronger, bigger night fury with even more advanced abilities is considered alpha. Then, you have to ask, would the two challenge each other? And would toothless have any chance of winning?
I would love to see how to train your dragon part 4
For that last one, it would make more sense if toothless used his mouth to grab hiccup as he fell so he could pull him into his arms. Probably not enough to entirely sever it but damaged enough it would have to removed.
