    Mora Robust:
    The Mora Robust is (obviously) a robust fixed knife. The blade is thicker than that of other Mora knives, so it can be used for heavy duty. The rubber handle is ergonomically shaped and offers good grip.
    Because the blade is made of carbon steel it is important to maintain the blade properly. Carbon steel is not stainless and should therefore be stored clean and dry.
    The plastic sheath is pretty solid and holds the knife tightly. The blade clicks inside the sheath and the bottom of the holster has a hole to drain water if needed.
    There is a belt clip included to carry the sheath on your belt or to secure it to another sheath. This makes it possible to stack multiple knives from this series on top of each other. Especially useful when you have a serrated knife and want to carry plain edge knife as well. Releasing the sheaths goes really easy by rotating the button that secures them.

      I'm living in the forest for a year because I can't pay my student rent. I'm going to have to make fires to survive (not for cooking reasons) in the winter, and I don't have space or capacity to carry an axe every day. I don't wanna risk my cooking knife breaking batoning, when scrambling to make viable firewood on worst-case days. (And getting splinters of poorly tempered steel in my face.) Now you tell me a trusted brand, not cheap knife isn't at least the smallest investment I can make for peace of mind. Even if it's not just for slicing ham.

    • @KevPage-Witkicker
      @KevPage-Witkicker Před rokem +1

      @@___xyz___ Yes, go for a decent, trusted brand by all means... I'd say Mora qualify here but there's nothing wrong with spending a few more dollars on something like Ka-Bar, Buck (some people slate them but I've loved all of mine, just keep losing them) or Cold Steel etc. As long as the blade is made from good steel you'll be fine. I think the advice here is not to worry about spending hundreds on "super" knives as something cheaper or mid-range will perform just as well, if not better. Mora have found that with a bonded handle that has no moving parts or failure points, combined with quality steel that's ground well, it is possible to make a very cheap knife that is just as strong as some knives costing ten or even twenty times more.

      Dutch Bushcraft Knives - In my experience, if the company would rather not show the exact specification of the knife's steel, it's most likely nothing to brag about. What they've probably done is taken a bunch of cheap carbon steel somewhere around HRC-58 (brittle metal that's terrible for re-sharpening), put a plastic handle on it with a half tang or less, and are now selling it for a low price.

    • @Ridgesmaster1
      @Ridgesmaster1 Před 7 lety +4

      Fooly Cooly (apologies for my limited knowledge of chemistry) it's too bendy for a high-carbon steel and too hard for a low carbon steel. So it's probably some sort of alloy that is a mix of the two.

The blade will also be able to bend."

      Do you know which one they use for the army by any chance? Or know if they sell them? When I Google if I just keep seeing military green and even the basic one you can buy for 10 bucks says it's a basic military knife so they're talking about what it looks like. I would like to purchase one that they use in the sweedish army but if not my robust will do!

      Dutch Bushcraft Knives whats up with the belt grinder ? i dont get it

    • @nonstopbg
      @nonstopbg Před 7 lety +2

      LeOssi belt grinder eats away too much material off the blade, it really wastes the metal. It also ruins the tempering, making the knife unreliable and edge retention degrades. Not to mention that every little mistake changes the edge angle and profile, sometimes irreversibly, and this has negative effect both on looks and performance. Good knives need to be sharpened by hand, anything electric hurts the blade. If you're gonna use a grinder, you should be well aware what you're doing like they explained in the video. It really would have taken hours and hours to fix this level of damage.

    • @theshankman8682
      @theshankman8682 Před 6 lety +2

      nonstopbg not necessarily. you still need to know how to use belt grinder without destroying the edge if you want to be a good knife maker. still you will need to do some corrections to the blade by hand tools

It's a blade that will pierce my victim's flesh with ease; with a strong handle to feel the orgasmic twist along with the sweet melody of his scream with my instrument of murder!! The serrated edge should saw through small bone, while using a carbon fibre hacksaw to sear the femur. Just need the portions the right size to fit inside my furnace. At such an intense burning heat, only ash will be left behind ...his family will never know. Constructing my murder plan now..... the investigators will never find any remains!!!

      Septimus i won Jandorff - In school, in the woodwork class (träslöjden), you have the choice to make your own knife. The blade of choice is Mora.
      The work you do is on the handle, you get to chose the material you want to use, and make your own mora knife. You also get to make your own sheet from leather.
      Now I'm an old Swedish man, I made my own knife, and as long as you have woodworking classes you too should have the choice to make one.
      So take your racism and stupidity and fuck off. You're not wanted in our great country Sweden.
