    Can I use the Amp to connect Sonos Arc to AudioEngine S8 subwoofer and AudioEngine A2+ Active Bookshelf speakers as the rear surrounds?

    hello there, i am thinking about buying 2 sonos ceiling speakers and amp for my kitchen, however, I would like to connect them to my tv so it can work with my sound system (soundbar and subwoofer) together. Once connected to the tv, can it work independently? I.E when watching tv the ceiling speakers + sound system are working together and playing the audio from the TV? Or when I want to use the kitchen speakers only to listen to music, am I able to do so?

    Can you split the amp between two rooms? For example put two speakers in the dining room and another two in the bathroom and have them play at different volumes

    • @TheSpecialistAudioCompany
      @TheSpecialistAudioCompany  Před 5 lety +1

      You can place speakers in different rooms thanks to the dual mono feature. However you won't be able to control the volume of each room independently with the Sonos amp alone. You might be able to achieve that using additional volume control devices for each room. The guy in this video explains it in more details: czcams.com/video/k2cDs0i8ucY/video.html If you would like more information email us at sales@ceiling-speakers.co.uk

    I just purchased the Sonance garden speakers, sub and SR2-125 Amp, I now need a source to be able to connect to the amp which I have 8 speakers and a sub connected to it to be able to stream music from my iPad, would this be my best option even though I already have an SR2-125 Amp?

    • @TheSpecialistAudioCompany
      @TheSpecialistAudioCompany  Před 4 lety

      So, if you already have an amplifier you wouldn't need the Sonos Amp but the Sonos Port, which is basically a music streamer and works with AirPlay2. www.sonos.com/en-gb/shop/port.html. Another option would be the Heos Link but if you are looking for the cheapest solution than the Google Chromecast Audio with RCA or optical cable should work. (it's discontinued but you can find it used online).

    how do you connect 3 pairs of speakers in the back of the songs? I only see room for 2 pairs. Does 3 pairs=3 zones? That's what I'm trying to do. Basically an amp I can connect to 3 pair of speakers that are in 3 different rooms. The app and set up seems so easy and quality amazing

    • @TheSpecialistAudioCompany
      @TheSpecialistAudioCompany  Před 4 lety

      Hi Julien, they will have to be wired in parallel, you can see a diagram on this link from Sonos: bit.ly/amp-6-speakers. You can put the speakers in 3 rooms however they will play at the same volume and from the same music source, so theoretically that would still be 1 zone only. 1 Sonos Amp = 1 zone, we wrote a blog post about how multi-room/ multi-zone systems work, you can read about it here: bit.ly/multi-zone-guide

    Thanks bro for information, I have two questions,
    1. This amp works with apple tv 4th gen.
    2. Which the difference a speaker 6 ohms vs 8 ohms,,, and i can put 1 pair of speakers 6 ohms, and 1 pair of 8 ohms?

    • @thespecialistaudiocompanyl3866
      @thespecialistaudiocompanyl3866 Před 3 lety +1

      If plugging more than a pair of speakers into the Sonos Amplifier then using 4 speakers the same rated 8 ohms is recommended .. this helps with loading and balance to the amp.. regards The Specialist Audio Company

    So I just installed 2 ceiling speakers and sent the wires down to the tv area and was wondering if I can use this Sonos amp to transmit to them thru Bluetooth? Or do I still need an amplifier???

    • @thespecialistaudiocompanyl3866
      @thespecialistaudiocompanyl3866 Před 4 lety

      If installed passive speakers you will need an amplifier, Sonos does not offer Bluetooth, you would connect your TV to it thro a HDMi cable.. the nthe speaker cable from amp to speakers .. regards

    How many speakers can u use with this that are non Sonos speakers & also with Sonos speakers combined?

    • @TheSpecialistAudioCompany
      @TheSpecialistAudioCompany  Před 5 lety

      As long as the speakers have 8 ohm impedance any combination of Sonos and non Sonos ceiling speakers (up to 3 pairs) will work!

    So this amp isn't for a surround sound setup? I can't buy 2 of these and do a 7.1.2 for example?

    • @TheSpecialistAudioCompany
      @TheSpecialistAudioCompany  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi there, the Sonos Amp cannot provide surround sound on it's own and doesn't support Dolby Atmos, however two can be used in conjunction with a Sonos Sub to create a 4.1 channel surround sound system, with a 'phantom' centre speaker. If you would like further information or to discuss a project please do contact us via email or telephone.

      hi, yes you can mix Old and New Sonos components, the only thing is that the new amp will work on the software as per the old products.. the main thing is the new amplifier is a significant HiFi upgrade on previous models ..regards

    Hello, there is something that I do not understand correctly, Sonos says that the range is between 4 and 8 ohms. If I connect 3 speakers in parallel, the resultant would be 2.66 ohms. I have seen that Sonos says that up to 3 speakers can be connected as long as they are from the Sonos brand... (unless the Sonos speakers have something in particular, it is not understood,,,)

    I appreciate your video. You just skimmed through the whole Sonos app. I find their app and set up one of the most complicated things I’ve ever had to do with technology. All I want to do is plug in a brand new Sonos amp to one stupid Sonos speaker. It says can’t find product. When you call their help area they’re closed. Their online help is brutal. If I could return all these horrible songs products I would

      Hi, And not sure the problem you might be having here, i set up a new amp in my system last week and it took 20 secs to add in.. it really was very simple... the only reason sometimes people struggle is if changing router, then you need to factory re set all items (as they will think they are connecting to your old router) and re connect ... again very straight forward ... millions have no problem at all usually ..

    What does the amp do exactly?

    • @TheSpecialistAudioCompany
      @TheSpecialistAudioCompany  Před 5 lety

      It allows you to send an audio signal from your device to the Amp which will then power your passive speakers and allow them to play your audio
