    Vinyl diehards might balk at the prospect of your analog signal being digitised for transmission to your wireless speakers, but they have a choice if that want to stick with a traditional 2-channel or 2.1 channel wired setup. Thanks for the vid.

    • @VinylforMiles
      @VinylforMiles  Před 3 lety

      Yeah audiophiles loose it when you say “wireless” but I can literally put on a record and play it across my entire house through their high bandwidth signal. The amp is very well built too and gets loud and whatever speakers you connect it to you can disable any processing in the amp :)

    Hi there.
    I chose this Amp cos i needed one powerful enough to drive a pair of 4ohm Elac Uni-Fi and your video helped me make my decision - thank you.
    Could you please advise and tell me whether it is possible to connect my harman/kardon go+play bluetooth speaker to play in another room...or is it only possible with Sonos wireless speakers?
    Looking forward to more videos. Take care.

    Just thought you should know because the output on your turntable is 1.5v the Line-In Source Level should probably be at level 4 or 5. Great vid though :)
    The line-in voltage levels are below:
    2.2V - Level 1
    2.0V - Level 2
    1.8V - Level 3
    1.6V - Level 4
    1.4V - Level 5
    1.2V - Level 6
    1.1V - Level 7
    1.0V - Level 8

    Any 3rd party sub issues? I just got the Amp yesterday and my sub is barely audible at full sub volume in the app. My sub doesn’t have a level adjustment, just an LFE in. I researched this and it is a common/known issue. Did you experience the same?

    Much prefer using the Connect (or now Sonos "Port", or Bluesound NODE 2i) to RCA connect to a good old receiver. I've tried these other setups and just enjoy receiver sound far more, and adding the Connect (or others) delays the audio so that it's in sync across other wi-fi speakers if you push it out to everything.
    But regarding Sonos.... after today's announcement (re: deprecating many older model to push them from the ecosystem) I genuinely doubt that resale value you mention is going to be like what it's been in the past. Sort of a sad day today.

    • @VinylforMiles
      @VinylforMiles  Před 4 lety

      The latency I fixed using the boost and I have a newly added mesh wifi system which absolutely made a huge difference. The legacy items are these: Zone Players, Connect, and Connect:Amp, first-generation Play:5 (launched 2009), CR200 (launched 2009), and Bridge (launched 2007). The new Amp is 100% supported so is the sub, play:1, One, One SL and boost ect. Luckily I do not have any of these. If I did... I'd probably use their trade up program and be pissed lol

      @@VinylforMiles So no latency between turntable/tv and speakers wired to the amp, but wireless transmission between rooms requires the boost to be low-latency?

    • @VinylforMiles
      @VinylforMiles  Před 3 lety +1

      @@jon4715 I am sorry I worded it wrong. Sonos broadcasts all audio at a technical delay (few milliseconds) from the source to make sure all speakers are in sync. There is no latency or syncing issues between rooms. The boost fixes audio drops which happened to me quite a bit in line in mode. About every 15 minutes the speakers furthest from the amp would drop audio for about 1 second. If you have a mesh wifi system that also greatly helps. Hope that was more helpful.

    • @VinylforMiles

      Thomas La Bouff you can choose to have it buffered or 100% transparent. It’s a give and take as unfiltered is a higher bitrate and may skip if your internet is slow. I’d not recommend this system unless you plan to wireless stream vinyl room to room

  • @sloebone7399
    @sloebone7399 Před 4 lety

    $600 for the Amp, and all you need is speakers, a preamp, a subwoofer a smart phone or tablet, your WiFi network your turntable and a record and you can listen to music that might skip because your network isn’t strong enough Plus there’s no physical controls or even a headphone jack.
    That’s a ton of cash to hear your records in another room and it’s still not going to sound great.

    • @VinylforMiles
      @VinylforMiles  Před 4 lety +1

      Sloe Bone I don’t just use it for records the video was focused on that use case. But after getting mesh set up in my house and the boost I have had no issues. It’s pretty awesome that I can put on a record in my living room and blast it on my porch while I BBQ. There are plenty of amazing amps for the same price if wireless room to room music is not a priority.

    • @stephenhargrave7922
      @stephenhargrave7922 Před 3 lety

      Exactly. Not to mention you cant transmit analog stereo through digital wireless technology. If you want digital music buy a 10$ mp3. If you want a hifi analog soind system its all about the receiver anyway.

    • @VinylforMiles
      @VinylforMiles  Před 3 lety

      Stephen Hargrave yup nothing beats hard wired analog system. Sonos is a step up from Bluetooth as it uses higher bandwidth transmission through WiFi. This is not a system for a vinyl purist.

    Instead pf sparking interest in the once great culture of hifi recording and the masterpiece of engineering known as high fidelity, you get this imitation that isnt even capable of analog stereo sound. The highest quality recording medium, and the reason even a 50year old refurbished receiever can cost you somewhere aroind the 3000$ mark. I would suggest anybody truly interestes in the art of hifi to spend that chunk of change on a book that can enlighten you to true HIFI high fidelity sound amd go from there. It can change your life and the way you listen to music forever

    • @VinylforMiles
      @VinylforMiles  Před 3 lety +1

      Correct! This is not a system for audiophiles In fact I’d say any sonos product isn’t. It is way better than Bluetooth but no where near an actual Hifi amp. This is for people who want compact size and convenience paired with wireless streaming of analog audio like vinyl or cds/cassette. For me I don’t have time to go full audiophile so this works great for my needs
