The rubber subs are there to prevent the fork stanchion from hitting the top tube or down tube, favourite trail is breakout at mountain Creek.
The question is this why would you need a double crown fork with only 135 mm of travel and it has quick-release which negates the stiffness that a thru-axle brings a legit double crown downhill fork has anywhere from 180 to travel to 200 mm of travel and has a 20 mm thru-axle
Haha I heard him say that and came right to the comments. So weird!
Because cheaper and they can. Even better answer, why not? These are budget builds. Not "Dream build my 12k downhill bike" videos. I mean I do understand what you are saying any why you are asking. I dont think any of us would EVER try to use a fork like this in BC or Northshore. Hell I wouldnt hit Horseface with that fork.
Come on bro! ya not gonna watch the test🤣🤣 I love these guys! So Awesome!
@s14tat The answer would probably be, nobody needs this fork, that's why we got it🤣.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS well it definitely makes for good content. It brought me here. Curious about it. Now that you have installed them, you realized that it is a compromise since you can't turn your bars much anymore. At 200mm travel, it's a trade off you are willing to accept. 135? Eeeeehhhhhhhhh~
A word of warning for you, a triple crown fork can put an excessive amount of force on the top tube weld. Downhill frames are typically designed with the added strength for those torsional loads. So just be wary and keep an eye on the weld areas of both bottom and top tubes where they join the head tube. I have heard of frames breaking on impact from the added force.
WILL DO JOHN, THE WOLFMAN SAID THE SAME THING DURING THE VIDEO IF YOU DID NOT CATCH IT. GONNA BE EPIC!!!!
The fork looks great. You read the air pressure chart incorrectly tick. For 170 it shows 80-95 PSI. Either way your testing and feel to it put you where you needed to be.
Hahaha yeah The Tick has been hit in the head a lot🤣. I told him he was tripping because the fork was wayyy to soft but he edited that out I guess. Thank for the Coffee man!!👍😎
my "Sorry Jason" shirt is getting delivered in a couple of hours, can't wait.
Dude that's awesome!!! Send us a pic of you wearing it if you want, and we might use it in a future episode.👍
oh yea and thanks for the letter, much love gents
Very glad you got it! Just Addressed "THE MAN" LOL
Great video guys!! Thanks for keeping this awesome bike
Thanks man! We will never get rid of the GT, it's what started the channel.
Loving seeing a GT video first thing in the morning (I'm up late, so this is my early morning, lol 😆). Happy Thanksgiving, guys 😊✌
Right back at ya man, Have a GREAT ONE!!
Underrated chanel, subscribed. Keep it up.
Hey thanks man!🥰
I got the himalo 680 dh and I absolutely love it major upgrade for the ledge x1 this bike is now super sick😉
Ooooohh sounds great!! We will probably be installing it on that bike as well:) Thanks man and we will see you here when we REALTIME REVIEW IT!!
I cannot wait to see the run with this. Its gonna be a blast no matter what.
100%🥰👍
This was real fun to watch guys. Shout out to the #wolfticknation you guys are the wind beneath their wings. Love all you guys and looking forward to the review 🤙🏾
Thanks brother, right back at ya and hope you have a wonderful Holiday!
Bought the 26x4.0 version, thanks for your review WOLFTICK. The Himalooo!!! 😂
I've been wanting you to try a cheap downhill fork FOREVER but I was afraid to say anything! I already get funny looks for liking Bucklos forks!
I get funny looks until I send it harder than the people who have 1k dollar forks on their bike but can't ride.
HA HA!! WELL WE READ YOUR MIND!!
Are they good???
Don’t worry about what others think
In the process of customising a 1998 Ridgeback 'nice guy Eddie' full suspension bike. I've ordered some Humalo drift 32 160mm forks from Cina, but I'm afraid I'll be dead by the time they've turned up.
HA HA Man they will be worth it, but totally understand, its a bummer waiting for FUN STUFF!!!
That fork looks cool on the GT, if a little excessive 😂😂😂, but the oil seems a little sus to me.
Dude, your English accent 😂😂😂. Also your face when pumping that shock up, very worrying 😂😂😂
My favourite trails are some little single tracks near me, nice and quiet, love getting lost round them.
Great video as always gents. Stay safe 🍺😎👍
A little excessive is correct!! THATS US!! LOL I know you feel right at home when I break out the accent so.....you are welcome!!! Thanks for the input on the question and see ya brother, thanks as always DAN!
I don't know if anyone else has already said it, but you read the air pressure to weight chart wrong, the rider weight is listed in Lbs and Kgs, then further to the right is the fork air pressure that corresponds to that weight. So at 120 lbs or 54.4 kgs, you should be running 70-90 Psi. If you are 150 lbs and you stopped at 80 psi the chart is spot on. Again someone may have already pointed this out.
They did but appreciate your awareness man, thanks and we will double check!!
Careful with the dual crown forks, some frames are not built to handle stress in the areas they add stiffness to.
Gotcha, and will do man!! Thanks for the concern and hopefully the GT will hold up!!!!!!! SEND IT!
To be honest, I didn't really think of a budget downhill fork to exist! But I was wrong... man this looks pretty awesome!
LOL!!! If its out there WOLFTICK VIDEOS will find it!! DRUNKEN EBAY BABY!!!!!! SEND IT!!!!!!!
I have these forks on my Stealth clone and they do pretty good although I only use my bike for commuting so there's that. Looking forward to the test!!
Interestign fork for a commuter!! Bet it looks way cooler than anyone elses!! LOL Thanks for watching and really hope they serve me well!! WE WILL SEE!!
Man what the hell haha! I never thought you guys would put a down hill fork on a hard tail or any of your bikes haha. I’m used to seeing DH forks on down hill bikes haha! Man I’m excited to see you test it out!
You know us...REBELS!!!🤣👍
I like the part 9:19 where you’re pumping the fork and the music gets all jazzy
HA HA Knew you would dig it man, all for YOU!! LOL Hope you thumbs upped it!!
Wolfdad's hair is lookin good!
Hey thanks Evan🥰😆.
Hell yea. The og for aggressor pro!!!
DAMN SKIPPY!
Thanks for the videos. Heard the bottom chamber of the shock has to equalize the pressure; you do that by compressing past 1/3 or 1/2 of travel, then measure air pressure again.
Well thanks for the heads up man, when we install on another bike we will do so, thank you
such a good looking bike with the wolf tick decals🤟🏻
Thanks! We love our GT.
You guy's are crazy hahaha I enjoyed watching.
🤣🤣 Thanks man, glad to have ya 😉
That fork is a monster but seems like they could give it more travel since Himalo has that 160mm fork also. It's crazy they made a QR downhill fork but its also awesome!!! Can't wait to see them in Action. Himaloooooooooo!!!!
HIMALOO!!!! COMING UP!! Thanks El Capitan:)
For the end of 2021, we should get some Wolftick compilation videos... Falls , intros , "sorry Jason"s, Best of Mailtime, Funniest moments, Unaired footage???
Not a bad idea:) Most un aired and too bad for CZcams is on Patreon but thats a good idea man:) Later Jason, have a great Thanksgiving and take a pic with that shirt!!
Only been a sub for a month or so but love the channel man 👍 am just doing up a retro Kona and upgrading everything to modern parts can't wait to get to ride it but what forks do u think are good budget ones as am struggling to find some half decent forks for cheap
Well thanks for the sub and welcome to the #wolfticknation👍 Since you are new you might have missed it but we have a ton of budget fork reviews and then we started our very own rating system. Check this out if you haven't yet.
czcams.com/video/dHpfOEbwkAo/video.html
We love the X-Fusion stuff but it's now almost impossible to get. The Suntour Epixon are also a favorite of ours for $191.
Let us know after you watch a few vids what you are thinking.
Every time I see the intro of you's guys in the truck , I miss my Grandpa... also, can't wait for my Sorry Jason shirt , it shall be coming tomorrow :P :P :P :P :) :) :) :)
HELL YEAH!!! So your Grandpa was an a**hole too huh?? LOL
Good morning wolftick oh come on you got to do cats meow with that bike and then sign up that bike in the rampage LOL
HA HA NEEDS TO BE:)
Love the accent 🤣 looking forward to the mushy peas 👍
Thanks man, appreciate the coffees and Ia m not looking forward to them!! LOL Tell Maria we said hello! Oh and the boy :P
Very nice looking fork hope it works well .You and your dad keep it up guys well funny lol
Thanks Clive the fork is a beast and hope it performs like it!!
Hey guys love the videos! Try that on the Mongoose x1!
We are planning on putting it on the Ledge X1 after we get done reviewing and rating them. Thanks man👍
Quick release is convenient but they loosen up(as you know!)
Hey I KNOW FOR SURE LOL!
Marrington Plantation ... thanks for the laughs guys! Dont know if I should thumb up or down cause of that 'O' face pump scene there Tick...
Marrington?? Hmmm, dont know about that. Now you dont dig the RUSSIAN face?? LOL!!!!! THUMBS UP SON!!!!
Nice!! We gotta see the himalo vs the himalo! I'm really leaning towards the himalo drift. They got a thru axle version!
YES THEY DO!! Hope these hold up!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you guys hope you have a great day.... Btw I wwnt with Shimano deore XT 11 speed on the Specialized Enduro... Tomorrow i pick up my rebuilt Shimano breaks and i will put up a video if you missed it my Scott Spark is there as well
DUDE!! NICE CHOICE:) Day was wonderful and still FULL!!! LOL Hope yours was a great one too, thanks for the update Lawrence
SPIDER MOUNTAIN IS THE PLACE TO BE. Let me know if you come, I'm down in Houston and frequent Spider.
Hack video is from Berm Peak! I thought it was way over the top to just get a compression ring on there, but hey, I guarantee someone is doing the work!
VERY COOL! So you agree:) We will def holler at ya! Now the HACK! LOL Funny you caught that!
The Mr. Beefy fork. Looks like the FSA star nut setting tool worked lol. Hopefully it was better than the old tool you had. Got my Sorry Jason shirt ordered. Hope you guys have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Hey brother!! A LITTLE LATE!! LOL It was in the SPAM?? FSA Worked wonderfuly! Thanks Sloth:)
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS 😂 That's great and no worries!
Hey man, love your budget reviews. Just an FYI some of them stem spacers can go under that top crown. Just so it doesn't look like it's touching the stratosphere ;)
Hey thanks man! Yeah we put a bunch on the top and bottom, they might not have showed up on camera. Can't wait to review this one.
Damn every time the old bank account is safe you clowns figure out a way to separate me from my money. 😂🤣😊. Cant wait to see the results of these AWESOME BUDGET FRORKS! Love it! ✌️👍
HA HA U ARE WELCOME!!! Now we cannot either man, see ya net week and have an awesome Thanksgiving!
Yoooo this is awesome 😎
Hahaha it's going to be something for sure😆. Nice to see you around again man👍.
Dual crown is a lot of metal for just 135mm of travel!
Sure is😆
I wonder if the hedge/bush bike would look better with a new fork🤔👍
Keep up the good work Boys
🍺😉👍
STOLEN BIKE?? HA HA!!!! DEF NEEDS THIS FORK!! Nice to see ya around brother
Budget Down hill bike based off the ledge x1 would be so sick
We plan on putting these on the Ledge after we are done reviewing/rating them. Thanks man!
Best big box hardtail to upgrade ? My guess is the mongoose ardor but what do you guys think?
Well man, that is a hard one to answer without a lot more info but yes the Ardor is a great and fun bike to upgrade. We wish they would sell the frame only for like $150 or something. We need to do an episode on the pluses and minuses of each bike one of these days.
The bumpers hit your frame of the fork twists around during a crash. You have I put them where they hit the frame ahead of time.
GOTCHA!! I will be putting these to the test I am sure!!! LOL
That rubber part in between the two crowns are for protection so when you oversteer it doesn't scratch the frame
Thank you sir!!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS no worries,i was wondering if you can test the "MountainPeak airfork" the brand "MountainPeak" is pretty famous here in the Philippines maybe you guys should give it a review.
That fork bangs dudes🤘🤘
Be on the look out for a fun birthday giveaway on thanksgiving guys 👍👍
It bangs dudes?
Hell yeah it does!! Oooohhhh bIRTHDAY GIVEAWAYS!!
I mean, if banging dudes is your thing.. 🤣🤣😂🤣
Fantasy island! Aspen draw, bug springs. All in tucson Az
Hmmm.......Gotta look the up! Thanks for the input brother:) Did not think Arizona would have much:)
Something I've been wondering about is if some of these budget forks might be similar to the manitou markour that's adjustable from 80-120mms
??? NOT TOO SURE
I just wanted to suggest that you should put it on your full sus mtb:)
Once we test/review and rate it we will most likely put it on the Ledge X1.
the bumpers on the stanchin is calld a bumpstop and its made to protect the frame
Tick seems to be REALLY good at that pumping action 😄. That's called a dual crown fork, geez, even I knew that one! Favorite trail currently would have to be Evergreen at Ride Kanuga! I have ridden singletrack in 8 states now and that one is by far the most fun (their green DH run). Who is Wolfman getting all spiffy for???
Yeah its PERFECTED!! LOL We review many of forks!! HA HA Now dual what?? YOU MEAN TRIPLE TREE!!🤣 Just making sure you were watching......Gotta ride that with you for sure oneday!! Too bad the weather in Nashville was terrible and the trip was too short:( Now Wolfman was getting ready to pick up his mom (grandma) and see his Aunt:)
It's Tick's ability to hold that eye contact the whole time that really does it for me.
Don't be spending that coffee money on pumpkin spice lattes, lol. Those rubber things on the fork are bumpers so you don't fxck up your frame when you wreck. The lube all over the fork is from it leaking, seems a little sketchy, I guess we'll see come Friday
Well hopefully they WORK!! We will see how they do soon:) Looking forward to it brother, now get out there and BLACK FRIDAY IT!!!!
Looks absolutely sick but only 135mm for a dual crown?? You can get a judy silver tk with 130mm. Definitely a bit sketch overworking the gt by 55mm haha.
Also one thing to note is usually with dual crown you slam the stem all the way against the top crown bit
Really a trippy built fork! LOL oh ok, we will look at slamming the crown down, it seems to sit on the air and compression though?? IDK we will figure it out:) Thanks man
From what you were saying when you were showing the sticker, you were using a LBS -> KGS rider weight conversion rather than the suggested pressures.
I told him he was tripping, but he edited that out😆. The Tick has been hit in the head A LOT!!!🤣 Thanks man👍
You guys should totally throw it on the ledge x1 with like 780 bars and a suupperr short stem
We plan on putting it on the Ledge X1 after we get done with the review and scoring.
I have the Box 4 group set ....no problem Box is quality goods 👌
Oh goody!! LOL Let's see of we agree when the realtime comes out next week!!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I think you will be impressed!
Cool I know I have been quiet for a while can't wait to see what happens with those forks... Found a almost perfect condition 2015 Specialized Enduro for 500 bucks because the brakes were shot and the tires were flat it even had a fox hydrolic dropper post (i absolutely hate the push button it came with)... So it came with a 10-36 tooth 1x SRAM x9 which I thought was crazy for an enduro bike... I'll let you guys pick should I go Shimano Deore XT or SRAM SX 12 speed already fixed the brakes there was a leak on the hose so for my budget build looking only to drop a little more for the drivetrain. I'm still in shock about the deal i got on the bike the fork alone is worth more than I paid but I want to keep everything under budget of 1000 bucks
Man well Shimano has not steered us wrong yet, so that and price wise go with SHIMANO!! Also very good find on the bike!! WHAT A DEAL MAN! Throw some of these forks on it!! NOT!! LOL Later brother and nice hearing from ya
I've seen those forks on Enduro bikes. Not something I would use, but still interested in seeing how they compare, given the differences in design. Did you folks ever resolve the issue where the 140mm travel on the fork was a lot less? Thanks for the acknowledgement. Yes, I am old. :-) This bicycling thing is just me trying to slow down the clock as best I can. It's been helping and more people should do it. They will be amazed how much their quality of life will improve.
Man you and us both! Gonna be a blast! The 140mm fork was a mess when dealign with the sellers, long story short we got $100 off:)
looks sick! i believe someone took a cheap amazon dual crown fork down Whistler before
Dang! We were hoping to be the first to take it down a black diamond down hill🤣. Thanks man👍😎
If you want skewer dropout, and a decent fork, for 26er bike, you might want to consider second hand 2000s dh forks.
We dont but not a bad option, a 26er fork like this goes for about $50 cheaper, but not a bad idea:)
Yowzers those look like moto bike forks! Cool! Bike looks sick bro!! My goose ledge X1 is working out well they are sending me a new rear wheel when they get them in stock, I Put a 550lb coil spring on the new rear oil shock and the rear suspension moves much better now this thing was super stiff stock with a 850LB spring!!
how is the Pro rush drivetrain? had a lot of problems with mine
Damn man!! Thats great to hear, hopefully it will be rideable come sringtime!!
That looks friggin crazy🤣
We agree!🤣👍
the rubber stops on the damper is so that if you crash the fork will not damege your frame
I want to buy this fork to upgrade a ANIIOKI A7 PRO, idk what size stem & lock to buy, can you help me out with some info on these parts please?
Hey brother, not too sure if it will fit...
The black bumpers are to keep the stanchion from bashing the fram protecting the frame and the fork at the same time
Gotcha:) Thanks and man oh man I am sure gonna use them when CRASH!! LOL
Are you guys related to Joe Breeze by chance. Cause that's the new 2021 Klunkerz. If I didn't see it with my own eyes I wouldn't believe it downhill fork on a hardtail. This is going to be good. Can't wait to see the run.
Hahaha I don't think anyone in the biking community would ever want to hear that🤣. We are going to take it down a black diamond downhill in a week or so. We are probably going to have some extras on the Patreon for that so stay tuned.👍
Just found your channel a few days ago and have watched most of your videos already.
Have you guys considered buying some used bikes and fixing them up? I th8nkmit is a great way to get a budget build.
My newest bike is a 1998 model cannondale.
Also, have you tried any trails in the Fayetteville area? They were great in the late 90s.
can you also review the new sountour xcr x1 coil suspension fork? they say its a lot better than the old version
Hmmm..... not a bad idea, how much isnit??
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS about..... 85 bucks. They say a coil fork/suspension has a better traction and more sensitive, because it has less friction while,Air suspension require tight seals to keep air from escaping thus has more friction less sensitive to small bumps making it loss traction they say. it may be a good idea to compare air suspension to a coil suspension
Are the intro’s rehearsed or just random? Actually I don’t want to know just keep them coming, they are funny as heck!
Also about that fork set up. I think the lower crown is too low because your Handle bars shouldn’t be that close to the adjustments knobs..
The top crown should be just below the adjustment knobs just like the way it looked before you took it apart. Now that will raise your front end a bit also.
Nope. Man we have a great relationship, but we are both very passionate people and are a lot alike. Nothing is rehearsed, but the CZcams versions are edited down and of course the language. On our Patreon it is mostly the raw footage and even crazier plus not edited for language🤣. The reason we have the fork adjusted like that is to give the GT it's best chance of surviving what we are about to do to it😆😎.
If you are going to put that fork through its full potential, I must insist that you use those Hex locking skewers you have floating around. 9mm, non-tapered, DH forks are a bit of a dichotomy. When I lived in Cedar City, Utah, I would attend the Flyin' Brian downhill races, in Brian Head, each August. Competition downhill bikes are a totally different animal and fun to watch. DH forks typically run in the $1 - 2K range. Downhill racers are certifiably insane.
BTW, 2 thumbs up.
Well appreciate the input man, gonna be fun and thats a great idea:)
Closest trail to me is a 12 mile trail called the thorn. First time on it I waisted a derailer on my haro.
OUCH!! The Thorn sounds NASTY!! Thanks for the input man:)
Those forks are made for the ledge x1🤘😎
That's the plan👍😎
Do a mullet! Nuttin wrong with 26"!
Like we said, word on the street:)....
7:55 yeah, I think they are bumpers so they won't damage the frame. Weird, my ebike has them but in the frame itself
What ebike do you have?
Thats tight!! Also will be putting them to use I am sure!! LOL Thanks Alex
Durham Forest in Ontario Canada is my fav.
Nice:) Thanks for the input, no face outdoors is for Canada as well and had an interesting place too.
Would ya put it on the ledge x1
That's actually the plan after we get done with the review and rating. Thanks man👍
You should try the Himalo DH-36!
Man if you can find one in America and on Amazon or Ebay.....Let us know!
i thought it's possible to move lower part of the dual crown too (the crown?) so you don't have to leave that much excessive part of steerer tube. i was looking at that and thinking, man, I wouldn't won't to have some weird braking accident on that, where I hit my head on the top cap (not that it ever happened, but still...). it will be fun to watch test video if this set up. have fun and stay safe my man!
We will brother) The setup is funky for sure!! I hope I remember to bring a mouthpiece!!!!! Later Mario, have a good one brother and thanks for watching
The bumpers are to prevent your stanchions from damage on turns
Found that out, thank you for answering brother.
I love the split screen and the pan zoom. When I decreased how much I post, I had more time to do fun editing stuff
Thanks Evan, it is a little easier to take some time and get a tad bit more creative during the editing instead of feeling under the gun:)
Its called boneyard, its a double black diamond flow trail, in cedar city, utah
Used lube? No, thanks!
I think those stoppers prevent the fork from scratching the bike frame in hard turns.
Looks like a beefy fork & gotta love being able to keep the old quick release wheels.
You got that accent perfect. Sounded just like a Brit...that's taken too many shots to the head;)
Ok, your loss:P Now I laughed till I cried reading your thoughts on my accent!! LOL!!! HA HA HA!!!! Have a great Thanksgiving you bastard!:P
I thought they would be like 7-8 pounds, my Suntour coil fork is heavier than that is.
Man this thing is totally light, impressed...Lets find out how it does on the trails now!
Hopefully it rides as good as it looks.
We are looking forward to finding out.👍
We shall see if i purchase. Lol. I'm rebuilding my downhill bike. It has the old Skool Mercalli downhill fork on it and a dnm rear shock. And you were saying about a 26" mullet. Umm. Sounds like a good bad decision! Lol.
Dude this would be a great 26"er looking fork atleast!! LOL
hey guys, think you can adjust or raise the lower crown up to the lower part of the headtube and maximize your travel I think. check it out guys.
Thanks for looking out man, we will look at it once more before we ride:)
130 travel, qr 9mm axle is a immediate indicator to not bring these down a legit downhill run.
Well...🤣
alot of faith in the steerer tube. looks like somethin ive seen in my wifes nightstand pmsl..;P
pmsl is right!!!! You better hide that THANG!!!! LOL
it has definitely a good suspension when running fast
Great to hear man, I am looking forward to the Black diamond downhill run!! Thanks KJ
maybe put this on the hyper explorer so it slackens the wack geo on that bike. idk if a 29 will fit tho
When we get done with it on the GT it will probably go on the Ledge X1.
16:45 pullin’ innards out
😜🤣👍
Damn wolfman be looking like ZZ Top
Fine dressed man!!
my favorite bike park is highland bike park in new Hampshire
Diva diva diva, lol you guys are great crack me up on the truck intros, keep that sh@t up
Yes sir:) Truck intros are the BEST! Thanks for the coffes man and have a great THANKSGIVING!
You need to move your stantions up. The ones in the yolk. You will probably get your full travel then.
Gotta take a good look at them once more and be sure before we test:) Thanks
Interesting video. The fork mm, and the plastic cover imitating a thru axle are a bit misleading. Excessive oil is concerning. Looking forward to seeing it's downhill performance.
HA HA All things you mentioned (which are true) makes me feel even more nervous!! LOL
