This is an in-depth guide explaining mechanics and optional choices you can make aswell!
Please remember that the Feat and Ability choices take leveling and especially early-game experience in-mind and are not designed for a "clean-looking level 20 min-max" but instead to have a smooth actual gameplay experience.

Really enjoying all the builds, appreciate you sharing your knowledge of the game also!
Thank you for supporting and the interest!
Big fan of your builds and they get better each time. Thanks
YES..YES!.. iv been struggling to find an abjuration build. Thanks for this.
Just finished my Angel playthrough, and really wanted "Wizard of Time and Space" type of build with my next Aeon playthrough, but everyone said Inquisitor for Aeon but I found your build which is perfect for the theme I was going for
I'm a huge fan of these videos. A lot of builds dont really explain how gameplay will work at various stages in the build, so I really appreciate you going into how combat will function before/after you get certain spells.
Have you considered mentioning possible good team comps these builds would work with? I always have a tough time building out a party that is well rounded enough to handle tough fights
I am really happy you like the videos!
Hmm it is a very good tip I could include in my future videos - Maybe a section like -> Good Party members for this character.
Agreed. I appreciate splitting it up with early/middle/end game. I always follow guides but have no idea what to do with the skills/spells once I have them lol
I would recommend that you take Expanded Arsenal (Abjuration) instead of Mythic Spell Focus(Abjuration) as that will allow you School Mastery to work on both Conjuration and Abjuration. Im doing an Inquisitor kind of the same way now. Abjuration (Dispel/Dismissal). A Wizard would be better but wanted an Inquisitor for the RP (a little miffed about the extreme overlap in spell-selection tho)
Broo thanks for this amazing build. You got a permanent subscriber
Thanks for the guide
Appreciate the love on the video everyone! Means a lot to me! I've been working to make these videos every 2 days or so, hope you enjoy them!
If you liked the video consider a thumbs up - and subscription for regular Pathfinder and CRPG content!
Everything helps! Get as deep in the Details as needed, please.
All the little details about the Feats and their Synergies are needed by people like me who are new to the whole System.
I have started to watch your Feats Video Yesterday and got the info I needed about the Kineticist and that he in fact can use Point blank Shot.
The whole system is very "extensive" ^^ and so I still am not 100% sure about the Alchemist, but I feel safe getting Point Blank Shot for him too.
All the Starting Abilities are Confusing and remain unlabeled by the Devs. Cantrips. Bombs. Blasts. normal Magic... puh :)
I keep hearing about Merged Spell Books but there is no Video on that Topic. Maybe that could be a Topic for a Video.
For whom it is useful, how to get it, how to prepare for it... you know better :P
At level 4 and other levels where you get addational ability points where should I allocate points? Should I allocate them to dex or more to intelligence
My current build is. 8 strength, 8 constitution, 20 intelligence, 16 charisma, 12 dex
Your builds are so good man! I used your kineticist tripper one for my campaign. Please make more (maybe companion builds?).
Thank you - I am trying but testing builds takes so much time since I have to do my playthroughs with them ^^ Fortunately with this video now I have a template so I should be able to make guide videos faster!
Very Structured Video.
I like it a lot :)
Thanks
Thanks! Means a lot!
Hello where can I find that portrait use din the vid? It's awesome and so cute.
Wow the new Aeon Gazes really complement this build well!
Would this build work on Arcanist also ? With a few tweks ?
Honestly best class combo for a john constantine character if you tweak the race, alignment and spell focus to evocation
Arcane shift exploit apparently lets you escape melee without taking attack of opportunity, very nice :)
Coming back a year later, I will add to my previous comment that this build truly shines with the "Tabletop Tweaks" mod since it added much needed options for Arcane Exploits from the P&P version which are sorely lacking in the base game especially Quick Study and metamagic feat selection.
A bit new to the pathfinder setting but how do you deal with the lack of selective spell? I find it scary to use aoe spells especially hard cc's since I am afraid of crippling my team as well.
Great question no worries!
I press "H" to hold position with my team just right at the edge of my AoE spells and it works perfectly!
Nice build but i would higly recommend to swap a mythic spell focus for expanded arsenale so i Also gonna gain 2 more feat in your build at 5th and 7th level. Nice idea and concept btw
POSSIBLE SPOILER
Wouldn't this class suffer in Act 4? I don't think Banishment and Dismissal work in the Abyss.
it seems you can't pick favored metamagic for heighten or persistent spells
sad
Good job, see you on twitch !
Oh yeah ^^
Nice, you almost never see abjurers in any D&D computer game.
If you are taking half-elf for the elven magic penetration, the heritage must be dual heritage... no?
Wait I am confused! You said you picked Half-Elf for their racial that gives spell penetration, but as far as i can tell that is only available to the Half-Elf if you take the Dual Heritage background. I looked at Camellia's set up in one of my games and at level 1 she only has a +1 to spell penetration. Or am I seriously missing something here? I know that the Elf dose get it in it's base abilities.
There is a feat for all half-elves too in the list - at least I had! Answered in one of the comments I believe.
this looks almost exactly like the build I used in Kingmaker. No sense in not doing it again. my goal in that game was to explore all the spell effects that I could, simply because I like to check out the artwork and animations involved. this build looks like it will give me a good crossection of what the game has to offer.
Spell Specialization increases the caster level of a spell. Does dismissal even benefit from the feat? From the way I read it dismissal only benefits from DC increases which has nothing to do with "caster level"
Yes it works and benefits!
@@HDHaZmY how does the spell benefit? My only guess is overcoming spell resistance.
@@franklinxavierdixon2231 higher caster level affects the SR check. a Dismissal with caster lv.10 would be easier to resist with Spell Resistance, than a Dismissal with caster lv.12
I was just glancing over this vid at work. seems really interesting but wouldn't it make more sense instead of spell focusing abjuration all they through to just take expanded arsenal instead of one mythic spell focus? you could save 2 feats that way
Your early game will greatly suffer that way! - IT looks good on paper, not so much in practice.
Quick question, is this build married to both the exploiter wizard and half elf?
I'm wondering if it will still be as effective of I trade them out for a human and arcanist?
You can totally make it work as Arcanist yes, just choose your spells wisely. As a human you will lose out on some Penetration though.
@@HDHaZmY I assumed if have to trade something out for some spell pen, I'm just not a big fan of elves and half elves personally their an overused trope in fantasy to so I prefer to stay human in games.
You probably already answered this, but why not go kindred raised for half elf? The +2 Cha seems ideal for exploiter, and would free up those stats for some Dex or Con
People still nitpick my attribute / race choices no matter what I do, so I stopped min-maxing and caring about it too much, I also think they are fairly insignificant compared to how much attention people give them.
Feel free to choose something you like more is what I like to say.
@@HDHaZmY Haha its fine, I was just wondering if base was a prereq for something further down the line or something similar!
Half-Elves do not have elven magic by default, like pure elves, only if you pick the dual heritage you get it (you loose adaptability and keen senses though). So you basically just picked the race for a skill focus (+ keen senses and elven immunities, but I think they are irrelevant, human would strictly be better than a basic half-elf, with a bonus feat and skill point). Or am I missing something?
I know this is kind of a late reply but by going half elf he gets the feat later which adds a stacking additional +2 to spell penetration. He would honestly be better off with pure elf at that point so.
I saw that your spell bar has short name for each spell. How did you do that? Mod or configuration?
That is a mod byproduct - I use a mod for respecing just for guides!
@@HDHaZmY I have respec mod installed, but I did not notice that function though.
Where were you all this time? Haha! May I ask you what other races you think would be viable for this build?
You can always find me on my livestreams every day ^^
Hmm, technically any race is good? But since enemies have high Spell Resistances, it's best to be an Elf or Half-Elf.
I roleplay a Halfling myself and I love it, so you don't need to min-max everything.
in act 4 can you still ban the demons? how does it work?
The game allows it for me so It's weird but your conjuration spells still work there!
A question here: doesn't dismissal becomes useless once you are in the Abyss?
It worked for me, I can only say that much at least. If they "fix" it, It's still only 1 chapter and you have your Conjuration Spells!
It's also quite awesoem roleplay-wise that the Aeon loses their power to Banish in the Abyss!
I suggest you take a look at expanded arsenal, it would save you several feats and mythic feats
While it is true and I thought about it - I would not be able to take Spell specialization for the school I use Expanded Arsenal for - Or if I used Expanded Arsenal for Conjuration instead I would lose out on 2 Spell DC early game where it matters the most.
It is a sacrifice, and while it is big, I think it's worth for the sake of a smooth game, even though it does not look clean on paper for level 20 optimization, but in a lot more logical in practicality.
I like to plan my builds for actual gameplay and not level 20 optimization.
I notice a hole already, you're spending a lot of feats boosting both conjuration and abjuration however 1 mythic feat can replace your spell focus mythic abjuration to automatically give all your conjuration feats to another school thus saving several feats which are now freed up for other things, maybe things like shake it off .
Why don't you take the "Expanded Arsenal: Abjuration" Mythic Feat for Mythic rank 2 or 3? That way you don't have to waste any feats getting your bonusses for both Conjuration and Abjuration

@@HDHaZmY But you can ofc retrain your character after a certain point of the game as well.
If you take expanded arsenal mythic skill you free yourself from taking spell focus and greater spell focus for 1 of the 2 schools this character is using so you can get those slots to pick something else.

You say Half Elf for Elven Magic, but choose Basic Racial Heritage; isnt it only Dual Heritage that gets Elven magic?
Half Elves still get - Elven Spirit Feat for +2 Spell Penetration!
@@HDHaZmY For free? I cant se that during character creation when choosing Basic haritage. Are you getting it later? By Elven Spirit you mean Elven Magic yes? That gives you +2 caster lvl checks to overcome spell resistance? I can only see that when choosing Dual Heritage. Or am I completely missing something here?
@@rujo700 No it is called Elven Spirit racial feat!
My homie though he made a mistake but he actually said yes in Hungarian at 14:25
Lmao got me!
to maximize, since u get 5 stat increases, u should start with an odd stat
Common idea for a lot of people - I prefer to start with even attributes as you are not getting the +1 modifier Benefits early game with an optimized odd number, and early game is actually the part where I care about surviving more than optimizing for level 20.
While you might say +1 Difficulty Class does not matter - I find myself in the situation of missing my rolls by JUST 1 way too often.
Couldnt agreed more. Why plan for even at level 20, when the game is almost done. I want power asap as well
can you make a a doc with the full build?
No - if you need a written document, feel free to create your own notes using the video.
even numbers at character creation make my eye twitch
Well get used to it here hehe. I prefer early game advantage over having meaningless minor improvements on level 20.
Howdy good sir!
Good format, good exposition, good explanation, good editing! 9/10!
Make up your mind about the exploits! Or play an elementalist and convert all dmg to element for free!
About the build itself though:
Get some Dex. I'd aim for 14+ belts.
At lv5, you're taking two feats into abjuration. As noted on other comments, expanded arsenal would do the trick for you already.
That would free up a couple feats and I'd have to recommend Metamagic Selective. (I would've taken it at lv3). At 6:20 you can see a couple bears saving their throws. What if Seelah was there making them roll again next turn? ^_~
Also opens up Selective Sirocco for more CC later on.
The other feat could be point blank shot.
At lv11 you're getting the elven pen feat. That only helps to overcome spell resistance, not saving throw DCs. Are you sure it's not overkill? Could take precise shot in its place (get it sooner/replace toughness and push other feats back a little bit).
Otherwise you have a great controller that's quite weak vs bosses (can't banish baphomet/deskari after all. Although you CAN Baleful Polymorph Goatie). With those two+ dex, you can help with a ray or two.
Finally, you slept on Glitterdust. Denies stealth + blind (50% miss chance!). Like Grease isnt subject to spell resistance, just saving throws!
Overall great job and great concept/RP value!
On paper taking expanded arsenal would look nicer, but in reality and smooth gameplay It would make the actual gameplay experience much worse - We would not be able to take Spell Specialization on either dismiss because of that or lose out on Spell DC for Conjuration early game where it matters most.
I don't take Selective metamagic for Greae / Sirocco / Entaglement etc. because that is a bug and I try to avoid using that if I can.
Spell Penetration is sadly a must for any character that uses Spells that require it - Demons just have too much resistance.
That is the difference I think in lots of guides - they look great for optimized level 20 characters but not necessarily great for actual gameplay while leveling, which I think should be considered more for guides.
In the end, all good recommendations and everyone can adjust the build to their own playstyle, but then it wouldn't be a Conjurer / Abjurer Disabler Wizard now would it? ^^
@@HDHaZmY Howdy howdy!
- Selective Metamagic: Fair point, good call.
- Expanded Arsenal: I don't see why you would lose any DC on Conjuration.
Unless I'm mixing the names, Expanded Arsenal is the Mythic Ability.
You're getting your high Conj DCs at level 1. The way Expanded Arsenal works is "if you buffed your Conj, select and you got both of them buffed".
Since you already buffed your Conj DCs earlier, you could just pop Abjuration here (Mythic 1 is lv5-ish anyway, 2 is level what... 8 tops?) and the two feats you used for Abj at level 5 are now "free" to be used anywhere else. (point blank + precise shot)
You would have a smaller spellbook, yes. But then again, you get Mythic 2 in the church and you're good to go with 2 more feats on the character making it better at supporting whenever something can't be Dismissed.
- Spell Penetration: Indeed, spell resistances are incredibly high, especially on Unfair (I play turn-based Hard. 5th playthrough atm).
That said, you picked an Elf, meaning you get +2 Spell Pen. That means if you SKIP one feat, you're on par with a full spec'd wizard (Nenio for example).
Whenever I cast stuff, I tend to suceed in overcoming Spell Resistance, but fail on Saving Throws.
Again, in the original post I *asked* if you didn't think it was overkill. I didn't try your build (yet) so I wouldn't know. I just felt like it since Nenio usually overcomes spellres in my games. All that said, I shall defer to your knowledge on the matter. =]
- Views: Being "play-friendly" and not "over-optimized for lv20" is a very good call! Didn't even cross my mind! Brilliant move!
Finally: Congratulations on asking for the feedback. Shows not only a soon-to-be great youtuber, but a current great person!
Peace!
@@abhuyllongfellow4233 Thank you so much for your support - I really appreciate it and the great feedback!
To expand on my logic :
We start with Conjuration for easier Act I and II - so those Spell Focus feats are must have. With that said, expanded Arsenal would only work for Abjuration, but Spell Specialization only works for spells with Spell Focus so we wouldn't be able to use SS on Dismiss Banish - thus making midgame slightly harder / different.
So we could interchange to take spell focus on Abjuration instead of Conjuration right? But then early game becomes harder - so it's really just a jump between making different stages of the game work better.
Of course if someone plays with respecialization allowed they can always optimize the build on the fly if they prefer.
My original concept actually had Point Blank and Precise Shot in mind to utilize Acid Shot more early levels but I wanted to focus on Abjuration to further expand the Theme.
I could talk about this for ages damnit and I still couldn't explain the whole thought-process haha.
@@HDHaZmY hahaha
You did explain well enough.
Suffer a bit now and be optimized later
Vs
Be good at all stages.
The age old dillema of character building in any game lol
Edit: just clicked ur twitch.
"Challenge, no-reload ... "
It all makes perfectly good sense now. Hahaha
Dexterity is great for initiative though. I like initiative too much on crow control casters. I played a similar CC oriented sorcerer although I went azata and Illusion instead of abjuration. Abjuration is great is act 2-3-5, but as act 4 happens in the abyss, demons cannot be targeted by dismissal in there. Which for me is a big downside in picking feats for abjuration. Because for me act2-3-4 are the chunky part of the game and the one I build towards. And basically having one half of the build being useless for chapter 4 is a no-no for me. Abjuration is still a strong school but I would rather use party member debuffs to use it when I need it rather than focus my DC boosting feats on it. Or what I would do is sacrifice spell focus mythic abjuration (keep the basic spell focus feats) and use expanded arsenal to add another school to the arsenal (maybe illusion or evocation). That way you sacrifice 2DC on Dismissal and banishment but gain an entire new school with DC up to your conjuration DC, and you still keep the ability to have a strong save or die spell in dismissal in a pinch (might have to use evil eye and such to debuff enemy saves). Of course your build would probably be stronger as azata or maybe even trickster but I assume you wanted to go aeon for flavor.
I tried and for me Dismissal and Banishment worked in Act 4 aswell!
@@HDHaZmY Lol that might not be intended, I wouldn't be surprised if they change that in a future patch
@@HDHaZmY Hmm that's strange, I couldn't even use dismissal on deathsnatchers in midnight fane since it was already being counted as being in the abyss. Dismissal worked on non-outisders in the abyss though. The crystal aberration could be dismissed in the abyss
what's the point of using stinking cloud and cloudkill? 99% of enemies in this game are immune to poison...
I hear this complaint a lot from people but Act I - III is overcrowded with human cultist enemies and monstrous humanoids where you can use it.
Aside fortunately you have access to a dozen other Conjuration spells you can use against demons if you like. No one is recommending using Stinking Cloud against poison-immune demons ^^

Drink some water my dude :D
appreciated but your accent is a bit difficult to understand (like at 10:30.....you will want to focus on your difficulty class???) don't focus on talking too fast, focus on enunciation
My accent is fine. With all due respect - If you think my accent is difficulty to understand then you are the one who needs to practice more listening.
