Same comment as my review, looks like story progression is more standard than what I experienced in my playthrough. You can probably ignore the last tip although following it does give you some additional dialogue. Hope all of you enjoy the DLC!
Any items sold to the hungry chest that will appear after the first boss is killed are saved BETWEEN RUNS. You will have to but them, but they will be available. This also includes trash, so try to sell those to the vendor on the port. I also suspect the helmsman chest transfers its contents between runs, but I haven't yet confirmed this. Also, the "cursed reward" island tiles are trash. They give you a single use potion, and no "powers"
Also I'd recommend saving wizards, sorcerers, and other spell slot hungry classes for your 5th or 6th character slot in your party. Rests are brutally hard to get early on and you want a healer like a cleric or water kineticist in your first two characters.
Will add one thing, 1 of the 2 starting units is making it a frontliner is nice given you proaby wll get at lest 1 o 2 + 10 hp which is nice to frontline, not gamebreakign neccecary but is nice
@@SlanderedGaming Heh, thanks. Ironically only in Pathfinder though, not too much of a fan of Mathfinder, as it is, and most of the classes simply don't interest me too muuch....for my main character that is. Gotta be a stronk and charismatic lady with a big sword, though sometimes I attempt to make an Eldrich knight.
How does this expansion interact with the main story? I assume it's similar to how "Under the stolen lands" interacted with Kingmaker, but is there any standouts we should be aware of?
The DLC can only be content is broken up across the Acts so you can do one part in Act 3, one in Act 4, and then all of it is available in Act 5. If you play it as part of the main story you can take the money, gold, and levels you go with you throughout the campaign but otherwise there's no real interaction, at least not that I found.
Does anybody know weather or not it is possible to have more than 3 mythic ranks in the rogue like dlc? Or weather it is possible to save any items for new runs? My first run endet a bit unexpected. I thought it would just get tougher and tougher and not have a fixed ending.
For the love of.. I need some help! Please I’m begging here! I’ve scoured the internet looking for details. ;~; I’ve been doing the stand alone roguelite version of the Midnight Isles DLC. Mostly to figure out builds and stuff. Anyway! The ship items that are acquired. Such as the Greedy Chest and the Table of Nahyndrian Feast. I need to know how many of these items there are and what they do! Not to mention how and when they are acquired. I’ve figured out the Greedy Chest; that was obvious. I also have the Feast Table but have no idea what it does. I’ve also heard there is a Drowned Chest and a Toothy Chest? There is no single source that I’ve seen that goes over all this stuff. ;~; And feeling around in the dark is only so much fun. Couple that with some of the island symbols not being the usual ones, so there’s no guide to them and it’s like “let’s take a stab in the dark. Hope I don’t wipe. Lmao. “ 😂😅
Elemental Overflow is awful. It would be alright if the enemies were affected the same way you are, but the enemy archers will sit quite happily in the death zones where your melee characters can't go without being blasted for more than half their health. And your archers have to get into point blank range to avoid being debuffed on their attacks. I don't think protection from energy would protect against more than two lightning strikes from the death zone before failing, so even if you're prepared you'll burn through the protection fast. So far everything else has been fun though. Any idea what all those random worthless items you pick up at the end of each run are for?
Outside of the Greedy Chest, the only thing I’ve been able to find says to drop items on the ship before being ran off. In your next play through you ought to be able to pick them up. Keep in mind, the instance for the ship is different between docked and out at sea. So you’d pick it up out at sea. I have NOT tested this yet, so I don’t actually know. I’ve just seen it around while hunting down answers to my own questions. lol.
do you know what are the 2 chests near the weel they changed the name on of them i belive , tothy chest became hellsman chest, now you can put anything on it, but still now idea what is for. the other one i imagine is related to story deposit bank.
I didn't run into a bug with the recruitment NPC failing to give a freebie in the live version. Maybe that's fixed? Pure mages kind of suck at 1, so you can delay these to your 3rd or 4th unit. Starting with a front liner and an archer is pretty breezy. Healers (or healing workarounds) are pretty crucial, or barring that, a lot of potion money. Honestly, wizard/sorc feel ok as 4th or 5th unit, but mostly just miss with bows a lot in the early levels. I'm not sure if the game is going to offer more than one island recruit, or if it's just the first mission that does this. Persuasion has some uses for Demoralize and related things. Actually demoralize is a better use for an Oracle than shooting a bow a lot of the time at early levels. Probably not relevant in the late game, but a party of 6 should cover the skill bases anyway. Persuasion can be combat-usable in a more dedicated build with more supporting abilities, but they're somewhat niche, like Thug and Aldori Swordlord.
@@SlanderedGaming well I talked to them in the other order if I remember correctly, and no problem? You probably shouldn't be allowed ln the ship at all if you haven't at least rejected the free companion though. Mostly just a first-time QOL thing.
No you can start it in Act 3. Sooner or later the quest giver will visit you in Drezen. The only thing is you cannot complete all of the DLC until Act 5. One part is available in Act 3, then another in Act 4, and then everything is available in 5.
There is a buff that you get to choose (between 3 choices) after completing a run that last for the entire next run, but i don't remember the name (and I can't find it nowhere)... Does this buff last for every run after, or just 1 ?
Also i discovered that one of the tailwinds, i think its called something iron clad, its something that makes it so the more spell failure you have, the damage your spells do. However, this only counts the spell failure on your main guy, so if you make your main guy a divine caster or no caster but equip full plate. The whole team will get the damage boost
Same comment as my review, looks like story progression is more standard than what I experienced in my playthrough. You can probably ignore the last tip although following it does give you some additional dialogue. Hope all of you enjoy the DLC!
You can ignore the angler tip too. They fixed it so that you can go straight to the angler and not have to back track.

Definitely unless you have the buff that automatically heals your party based on what classes you play with.
Thanks for this. I'll be buying the dlcs for console :)
great video as always! Trying to start it now
good tips brother gg
Thanks. Just started. Really liking this expansion. 👍👍👍
Awesome!

Yup that's a good call out.
Im really curious, I know the first Pathfinder random dungeon mode scaled to your party size, is it the same for Wraths Isles?
No I don't believe it does.
My main character is a fighter, I don't know why, but it is always a fighter. No matter what. Big strong lady with a big strong sword.
At least it's always easy for you to pick your class. LOL

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it!
The charisma persuasion hint is amazing...
My pleasure!
Do you increase Mythic Rank if you play the sidequest version? I'm not interested in rogue-like mode anyway.
You get money, XP, and new unique items but no new mythic ranks unless you play the Roguelite.

@@SlanderedGaming OK, so HOW do you do it in the middle of the campaign? Is there an NPC to talk to that will get you there?
While in port, there is a wall with a skill check. You can also spot a hole in this wall with perception. What do you put in this hole?
Hmmmm no idea I never spotted the hole you are speaking of.
So do you get 10 purple crystals to get to a final boss?
I only went through it once and honestly I don't remember how many crystals I collected.
I managed to get all the way through, and im not sure but i only got to mythic rank 8, or become legend. So i guess thats the limit

Owlcat just released a patch confirming that at Mythic rank 8 you can get access to Legend so I would say yes it is possible.

Someone mentioned doing this content in the middle of chapter 3 of the main game. How do you access this DLC if you're doing a normal campaign run?
The quest giver will visit you in the castle.
Elemental Overflow is awful. If you read their descriptions it helps flesh out some of the story.
Hi, does anyone know how do I carry over my items to the next stand alone playthrough? Anyway at all other than selling it to the greedy chest?

Did you figure out what the toothy chest is for?
Nope. Some other people report it was bugged for them as well.
@@SlanderedGaming Kinda hard to tell it was bugged since i dont know what i supposed to do normally.
Can you also use the DLC in the main campaign with the characters?
Yes you can.
Thank you for the tips! Do you know if you can purchase party members from merchants who are on the islands, too?
You can get them as rewards from the islands or purchase them from the Hilor like character at the port. Not from other vendors.

The toothy chest didn't work properly in my playthrough so not sure.
wher you get this amazing faedragon?
Aivu? She comes from the Azata Mythic Path.
I was in chapter 3 already before DLC coming out. How to start the DLC in the old save or I need to restart the main campaign?
No you can start it in Act 3. Sooner or later the quest giver will visit you in Drezen. The only thing is you cannot complete all of the DLC until Act 5. One part is available in Act 3, then another in Act 4, and then everything is available in 5.

If I remember correctly every run you can choose a new buff. I walk through this in my review of the DLC.
The word your looking for is called: 'tail wind' and you only keep it for that run alone, but you might find it again on a different run
Also i discovered that one of the tailwinds, i think its called something iron clad, its something that makes it so the more spell failure you have, the damage your spells do.

You can't really skip islands with mythic ranks from what I've seen.
Interesting I thought I did during my playthrough but could be wrong.
@@SlanderedGaming I mean you could just keep the purple crystals?(haven't tried it)
"Shake it off" only grants bonuses to adjacent allies, no to all party.
Right that's why I recommend that you have all your party members take it so the bonuses will be placed on all of them.
shame no news of season pass 2. starting to think they scrapped it
I think they're waiting until the console version has released to announce it
Yeah I think they just don't want anything to distract from the DLC. They will get into Season 2 soon enough I am sure.
@@SlanderedGaming i hope so. i would just like more meat and potatos to chew on.
@@SlanderedGaming i did like the voice acting, finally some nice new voices.
Well I don't like roguelike games so I will pass on this dlc.
Keep in mind you can play it as part of the main story and in that mode it is not roguelike.
