  • This 2nd part of the video covers parts selection. What should you pay attention to picking parts? What are common advantages and pitfalls of choosing various parts over others? How can you ensure you don't corner yourself for future upgrades or end up with usability pitfalls?
In this video, we'll discuss how to balance the price-performance-usability trifecta and how you may want to tip that balance in favor of one of the factors depending on how you plan to use the system.
Have you been waiting for the perfect system to build a NAS or software development workstation on a tight budget this season? Well, I've got you covered for a price to performance oriented PC, intended to run your favorite Linux distribution as a NAS, server, or workstation.
As you may know, I love diving into details and talking about this stuff, as such, this video got rather long. This is part 2 of 3 for this series, the final part as well as the complete version will be linked here as I finish editing them!

The intro (including the typos) is a reference to the first build guide I watched from LinusTechTips many years ago (back when they filmed in his garage). I want to give a shoutout to all the excellent science and technology channels across CZcams that got me started with computers. I wouldn't be where I am now without these videos!

"knowledge on this stuff just comes from having an interest and reading online forums and watching other videos!" I.E. Having Passion, Searching for knowledge, Diving deep on that knowledge for understanding. Such a simple statement on it's face, but 100% a blue print for success in any endeavor, but more importantly the magic access key to Fun. Love your stuff man.

Thanks for the kind words! To answer your question, while I am studying software engineering in university, most of my knowledge on this stuff just comes from having an interest and reading online forums and watching other videos!
