    Say what you want about John but he’s a man of honour, loyalty and understood the real meaning of marriage. One of the hardest things in life is to watch the slow decline of a loved one.
    Perceptive, self deprecating and the biggest heart in rock n roll, John Lydon-I salute you.

      He’s not just materialised as a nice, honest bloke. He’s always been that way despite what the media have said about him. He might have been abrasive and standoffish as a teenager and young man, but I know I was just as curt, abrupt and worse than that, very violent and aggressive.

      I met him in the early 90s when he was doing a meet-n-greet appearance before a PIL show. He was in character. Nothing excessive, but he was definitely putting on a show. Right in front of me was a couple with a young girl, maybe 5 or 6 years old. As soon as he saw her he stepped out of character and was the sweetest man in the world to this young fan. It was nice getting that first hand glimpse.

      @drj8498 You need to first determine the CAUSE of the dementia in order to reverse it. You cannot rely on allopathic medicine or pharma to help you at all. Just about all illness can be cured once you understand the 2 causes, which are nutritional imbalance and toxicity. You need to start with getting rid of toxins via juice fasts and sweating, then totally changing the diet to living foods from the garden instead of dead - lots of fruits, dark leafy greens, raw vegetables, home-cooked lentils, peas and beans, lots of clean water.
      Then starting an exercise routine and most important, staying FAR, FAR away from pharma's toxic drugs & shots. All drugs and alcohol must be weaned off of. Even things like denture cream in the elderly are a cause, they're full of chemicals that seep right into the bloodstream and create mental confusion!
      There's other contributors to illness like emotional, psychological and spiritual elements, but once you free the mind and body from toxins and flood it with clean, pure nutrition from living foods, you can address that.

      I know exactly what you mean. I missed out on punk, just very slightly too young, but became a metal and punk fan in the mid 80s. I always found "Johnny Rotten" obnoxious. John Lydon, however, has always come across as a thoroughly decent man.

    • @tileux
      @tileux Před 8 měsíci +5

      @@susi-emilyhe wasnt obnoxious. His behaviour at that time was mostly a reaction to the realisation that he - and the other members of the sex pistols, but especially syd vicious - were being blatantly exploited by Malcolm mclaren. When he famously said ‘ever get the feeling youve been cheated?’ to the audience in san franciso he was actually pointing out that thats exactly how the band felt being up there on that stage. He was certainly brash, but even then you could see the right stuff shining through.

      He had basically the hardest upbringing you could imagine. Poor Irish immigrant family to England. He had a spinal condition which had to be drained with a big syringe and gave him poor eyesight and his vacant looking eyes, he was stuck in bed for months at one point. He was bullied relentlessly for all sorts of reasons by students and hit by teachers as well which was common in those times. His mother was also hospitalized and died younger than most would have and was commonly sick while he was growing up. Its no wonder he became a human being full of rage, hate and distrust of any authority.

    Well done John for looking after Nora and coping with your grief. I lost my Dad end of March and he was first diagnosed with early Dementia and then terminal Cancer. Somebody at his funeral said I dealt with it well. I told him my Dad was 86 and he was released. I don`t think he understood but I think it would have been much harder if he`d lived with Dementia long term.
