"Those damn people that won't get off the sink!" 💯💯💯
BTW Emma, I just wanted to say that I’m really enjoying your channel. I’m an older fella, a boomer as we are called, lol, and I was one of those “monster kids” from the 60s and 70s but I’m enjoying your takes on films, your passion for them and your honesty. You are someone that appreciates the genre truly and that’s nice to see. Haven’t gone through your back catalog yet but I’m getting there so keep up the great work and thanks for the content.
The 'spiders' film sounds like a documentary about the street I used to live on which was the local hub for crack and heroin dealing and consumption and had a near constant police prescence due to all the robberies and assaults. One of my neigbours was locked up for murder just before I finally managed to move out. Good to see the australians continue to make true-to-life dramas.
Bacurau is a WILD ride but I loved every second of it!
Haven't seen it yet 😈
I love it when you recommend more unknown or obscure stuff. I have found many a treasure that way. Thank you.
Hi Emma, thanks for some interesting recommendations. Here are a few bizarre and fascinatic ones you might haven't heard or seen yet: Spider Baby (1967), Dagon (2001), The Lure (2015).
I’m a huge fan of the films of Jean Rollin. They are not for everyone but they are weird, bizarre, surreal and sometimes creepy.
They are ripe with atmosphere. Lurid and total style over substance.
Hi Emma, I'm brazilian and very happy that you recommend Bacurau. Is one of my favorite movies ever! 💜
😊😊😊
I came across your channel earlier at this week, and I'm loving every single video that I watch.
And I'm from Brazil, so when you talked about Bacurau I was impressed. Because even here the film is not a mainstream movie, and so much people dont understood it.
Thanks for the list. Usually I've seen one or two (or more) in these types of list videos, but these are all new to me!
I was half expecting that the australian movie you'd mention is next of kin. I'm not australian (from the other side of the world even, belgium) but when it comes to australian horror films next of kin is my fav. I don't know if you talked about it on your channel before, but if you haven't, you should :)
Yes I’ve reviewed it
Great suggestions as usual! Thanks Emma!
Yay, more weird movies to add to the watchlist, thanks Emma!
I heard about Deerskin not so long ago and the plot caught my attention cause it's definitely odd, I'll try to watch it during the weekend 🤘🏽
Your recommendation videos are always always always a favorite. I don’t watch movies A LOT cause I tend to wait for ones that jump at me and say watch me. Vivarium is one you talked about a long while ago and I absolutely love that movie after watching it once I saw your video
Totally keep these recommendations coming Emma!!!!
Thanks Matt
Thanks Emma I always find something new in your recommendations
Thanks for the reccomendations!
Hi!new subscriber!loved the list and the way you talk!
I've seriously considered murdering cinema patrons who can't just sit down, shut up and watch so All about Evil sounds like one for me.
You and me both. That one sounds very cathartic.
Cheers for the recs! As a horror nerd I'm ashamed to admit I DID miss most of these. "All About Evil" looks to be influenced by "Bloodsucking Freaks," perhaps? Love the channel!
Ooh I’ve been meaning to watch Deerskin! Thanks for the recommendations!!
Same. Had forgotten about it.
First I've heard of it, but I consider myself a weirdo's weirdo so it's going on the watch list. As far as I'm concerned, weird, disturbing and nearly incomprehesible are all recommendations
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Awesome - definitely a unique selection and some very intriguing titles! I will certainly check some of these out!
Love your videos! One i notice no one talks about is Excision. Emotionally brutal and complex. Havent seen it in years so i hope it holds up. Thanks again!
Awesome! Thanks Emma. Haven't seen any of them, and they all look great. Yay
Nice list, Emma...some of them I've never heard of before👍
Hahaha I think about the sink scene every day of my life and had the same reaction 😂 new subscriber, I’ve binged nearly half your videos already. Thank you!!
I have two films that I am curious if you have seen that are pretty bizarre. Have you seen/reviewed Stoker or The Double? Not necessarily horror but somewhere between that and psychological thrillers
I haven't seen any of these films yet. So Thank you for the recommandations. Can.t wait 😊
great reco's thanks 👻
Thx for suggestions for spooky movies. I’ve not seen any of the particular ones mentioned, but am open to try them. Funny, stay spooky is my favorite ,The Paranormal Files, saying as well!
I would recommend the movie "What's The Matter With Helen?"(1971). That is about a woman, and her mentality unstable roommate. I don't think I've ever heard anyone mention this movie before.
Yep, it was produced in the "Hagsploitation" cycle.
Never heard of it.
The '70s was an intense year
for horror films, though.
Have to check it out.
@@craigjohnson4819 I'm going to look into those movies. Thank you 🙂
@@laustcawz2089 I hope you enjoy it, when you get around to watching it 👍👍👍👍👍
@@craigjohnson4819
I've heard of
"How Awful About Allan"--
wasn't that a TV movie?
There were some
good ones back then.
I think I saw part of
"Who Slew Auntie Roo"
at some point.
Shelley Winters, right?
Didn't it also have an alternate title?
Great stuff, I hadn't heard of these! I'll have to check them out and maybe review them myself!
You give me many movies, always, that I've never heard of or never gave a second thought! Thank you!!!
Jean Rollin ...what a weird fella!!! I have a vague memory of watching some of his films, years ago. Grapes of Death I remember, particularly, standing out as an interesting take on the zombie genre. His films aren't for everyone and quite honestly I'm in shock that you mentioned him. He is such a peculiar filmmaker and his take on sex and violence is unique and something that not everyone would enjoy. Great recommendations **chef's kiss**
I recently watched 'In Fabric.' What a bizarre film!
love it emma i don't think i've seen any of the movies on this list i will definitely be trying to find as many of them as i can.
Hi Emma , I saw The Iron 🌹 as a teenager & The French actress was so pretty that seeing her unravel was extra disturbing. An excellent spooky pick !
just discovered this channel and love it!
❤️❤️❤️
Deerskin sounds great. I'm going to look into all these movies.
Thank you for another awesome video 👍👍👍👍👍
I’m not ashamed to say I’ve missed every single one of these. Thanks for the list!
Frankly, this is a great and interesting list. Well done!
I think i will watch All About Evil, I recommend Another Evil to you, It's on Shudder and that is quite a bizarre but fun comedy horror!
Brilliant list Miss. One of the weirdest movies I ever set through was a film called isolation about a genetically modified cow not many people have heard of it but it's definitely on the Bazaar list. Keep being Awesome
Wow, all of the film's mentioned seem great. I'll have to look them up. Thanks for the rec
Thanks for watching 🤘🏼
Talk about the movie “Rent a Pal”
Thanks Emma! :)
All about Evil sounds interesting. I feel you can make a list of meta-slasher movies with this film, Final Girls, Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, etc. 😀
The only one of these that I've seen is All About Evil. My son saw it at the San Francisco International Film Festival when he was in film school, and got me a Peaches Christ sweatshirt, lol, so of course I had to see it as soon as it was released on dvd. It was great! Thanks for the rest of the list - I'll check them all out!
Now that you’ve watched Demons and All About Evil, you need to watch Popcorn to keep with the movie theatre theme.
i’m soooo happy you watched (and liked) bacurau, i kinda feel i bothered u many times asking u to watch it! hahah
I am looking forward to all of these but especially checking out All About Evil. I remember reading about this film after trying to find out what happened to Natasha Lyonne (one of my favorite actresses) before she had a huge comeback with Orange Is the New Black and Russian Doll.
I think I have my end of summer film marathon in check with these #spookyastronauts along with the great stuff on Shudder & Netflix 🤘🏼🤘🏼✌🏾
I'm brazilian and I'm so glad you recommended Bacurau!!
I just watched the dark...and thank you. That was a great movie. I mentioned you in my reviews on Amazon and Google. Thanks again
And I thought I was the only one who saw 'All About Evil'. That one was crazy, but brutal.
Oooo I’ll have to check out DEERSKIN. Thanks for the info!
Hope you like it!
Quentin Dupieux FTW!
Thank you! I'm going to watch The Dark tonight.
Great list. I have only heard of Deerskin and Bacurau before but all these movies actually look pretty cool.
Enjoy!
i watched bacurau at the cinema and man... that was one weird/wacky/awesome experience. i mean the crowd was CHEERING by the end. probably one of the funnest experiences i've ever had at the movies (nothing tops endgame though)
I loved "The dark". It totally took me by surprise, especially the feels that it gave me lol Horror coming of age galore with this one.
added all of these to my watchlist.
I'll have to add these to my watchlist
Nice list. Not proud to say I have not seen any of these, including my country's entry. I will fix that tonight. Thanks Em.
🇧🇷 🤘🏼
I had heard of "All about evil" many years ago and forgot the name of it. It interests me so I might watch it.
I gotta check these out 👍
That last film looks really good. Will be looking for that.
I feel like you've mentioned The Sentinel before but that's one I think encapsulates bizarre horror. Maybe not bizarre enough for this list but I still think it's an underseen gem.
I remember back when watching the dark, my roommate walked in and saw the monster girl, and said "is that girl from the sinner show" and I was like what are you talking about? Then shortly after, I googled it and he was right. Still have no clue how he recognized her lol.
I haven't seen any of those films, but The Iron Rose does sound intriguing.
Sounds right up your alley!
@@spookyastronauts you should check out night of the living dead from 1968🙃
@@mikesilva3868 I've seen it many times. An absolute classic.
@@RavenHouseMystery agreed 🤯
@@spookyastronauts I just saw "The Iron Rose" and thanks very much for the recommendation. Creepy, atmospheric, unnerving and of course it has a good message: never take a girl on a first date to a cemetery. Or is it any date?😏
Good video. I've been meaning to watch iron roses for an embarrassingly long time. I need to make it happen
i saw the trailer for deerskin and had no idea what the vibe was going to be. it sounds pretty good!
Gotta love Peaches Christ and All About Evil! Peaches streamed their early very low-budget short horror films when quarantine started and they were very bizarre as well :´D
Great video, thanks for the recommendations:-)
I have a recommendation for this category too: the greasy strangler
Beautifully bizzare movie about a grown up son suspecting his elderly dad is the killer known as the greasy strangler, while also fighting with him over the love of a woman he likes
Iron Rose is definitely Rollin at his most abstract. His films can usually be argued as being more about atmosphere than logic (or even events of substance occurring) but Iron Rose takes that even further. I genuinely don't think Rollin has many artistic ambitions in his films beyond the decadent atmosphere, and this makes Iron Rose a very love-or-hate production - I'm glad you enjoyed it, as I could imagine it boring the pants off of some people. A suggestion for another WTF from France if you're not familiar - La bete (1975).
i'd highly recommend Possum (2018) as a weird movie as well! quite frankly the best representation of csa i've seen in a movie (along with mysterious skin)
Yes! I’ve seen them both, mentioned them in a previous recommendation video. You have good taste!
Thanks for the tips Emma. Yeah The Iron Rose. Jean (He's French so it's Zhawn.) Rollin has many more bizarrely sexy Vampire films from the 70's. I think the Iron Rose is his best, and not a Vampire film. I think part of the rationale for his strange films is just to film titillating scenes. There is an aspect of Surrealism here too. Does he even have good motives for his films? Hard to say. A very strange director. But indeed this one is worth seeing. By the way perhaps the very best of these strangely erotic Euro-horror films from the 70's is Daughters of Darkness. Look for it if you haven't seen it already.
I forgot about The Dark. I really want to see All About Evil now; sounds perfect for me. I love comedy horrors but have the hardest time finding more.
I missed this channel so much ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hey!! I never went away? Where’d you go?
WE LOVE YOU EMMA!!!
I actually don’t think I’ve seen any of them, but I’ve wanted to! May have to figure out how to get myself to the festival to see the last one!
Ooh. Just found a great horror channel. Subbed!
Thanks for the shout out of "I didn't come here to fuck spiders", I'm an Aussie and a horror aficionado, but had zero knowledge of it!
All above evil is weird but crazy
Ace. I love recommends like this 😗👌
Cool hairstyle Emma!
WHERE'S MY PEN AND PAPER?
😂😂
I LOVE your channel and I was extremely happy to see you talking about bacurau 😍💚🇧🇷🏳️🌈
Yay!!
@@spookyastronauts 🙃I enjoyed it as well
I never seen the dark 2018 movie but I will check it out Emma.
Enjoy!
I loved these recs! Never disappointed. This may be a weird recommendation but i watched Lady Gaga’s 911 short story today and it was wild. I think you’d like it :)
Bacurau YES YEP exactly, emma
Hello Emma thank you so much I enjoy your content so much, I wanted to ask you if you could help me track a best horror list where you mentioned the Argentinian horror film aterrado (terrified) by the way have you ever watched the film baskin?
I have a review on baskin!
@@spookyastronauts oh wow i found it that was a while back I’m so behind in these rarer films. My first horror films as an 90s kid include ghoulies, the car, return of the living dead, the fly, scanners, poltergeist, grandmother’s house lol
Thank you enjoyed! :D
Just got done watching Bacurau based off this recommendation and WOW. What a wild ride I loved it! So glad I went in blind
Glad you liked it Molly!
Currently looking for Deerskin online. Thanks Emma.
It's available to rent on amazon
@@noemivargas1804 I'm in Canada. Not there. Found it though!
You are churning out some great content so here I am gonna suggest 3 solid supernatural horror movies that you most likely missed. These are movies from India.
1) 404: error not found(science vs supernatural)
2) U turn (edge of the seat mystery)
3) Pizza (goosebumps inducing with a dash of "cheesiness")
bacurau!!! love this movie ♥️
Oh my! New films to locate and lose my mind watching, yay! But I have tk tell you, you got me low-key excited for that We Didn't Come Here To Fuck Spiders.
I loved The Dark 💜
I hope u give us ur thoughts on Ratched!!!
LMAO her name is Ratched - ratchet means something quite different 😂
@@isabellamorris7902 ummmm... hahahah ya.... auto correct... lemme edit that real quick... 😬😬
I have seen The Dark. I enjoyed it. Not seen the others yet.
Ah more list adding oh yeah Emma are you doing 31 Days this year?
Yeah I spoke about it in my last monthly wrap up
@@spookyastronauts oh right I must have missed that one thanks.
The only one of these I’ve seen, and in fact the only Jean Rollin film I’ve seen(unless you want to count Zombie Lake, which I don’t know if you should because he was not supposed to make it-I think it was originally supposed to be a Jess Franco film-and did not like the results) is The Iron Rose, but even that I missed the beginning ofI remember being pretty entranced by the look and atmosphere of the thing.Oh,by the way,in case your interested:Zombie Lake sucked.I’ve been interested in seeing All About Evil(as well as Natasha Lyonne’s other horror movie,Antibirth)but haven’t gotten to it yet.I’ve never even heard of the others,so thanks for opening my eyes towards them.
