In this all-new video, I re-rank and re-review Led Zeppelin III. In addition to a more in depth analysis of this classic Zeppelin album, I discuss my original ranking video and review and my emotional state at the time. I also discuss the so-called "hate" fans had for this album when it was first released in 1970, what should really be the closing track on this album, the pronunciation of "Bron-Yr-Aur" and why Led Zeppelin are the ultimate rock 'n' roll band. If you love this band and this album, this is a must-watch video...!!!

Led Zeppelin Rocks period. I Love Them.
It’s amazing how music and art speak to us uniquely in the different stages of life. A really good reflection of where you were vs where you are. Glad to hear everything is coming up Mulhouse! Great video and welcome back!
Thanks as always, brother. My life is definitely on an upswing and I'm feeling good...!! 👍🏼
18:07 Where I grew up -- Norfolk Va -- I heard Hey Hey What Can I Do on the radio all the time
WMMR in Philly used to play it quite a bit as well.
I think you hit the nail on the head…I ordered steak and got fish wtf! The American fans (who at the time were mostly young adults) wanted heavy and got folk, as you get older you appreciate the musicians and the balls to pull that genie out of the bottle! Enjoyed the review and the flashback…Eddy spoken like a true modern 21 century schizoid man!!
Right on! Thanks for watching and for commenting!
Great video...III has always been my favorite 2nd favorite as well (right behind Physical Graffiti of course). AND I think it's great you've gone full circle on the ending of the album! I've always loved where the album leads, and honestly I was thrown in your original video (though that being said the original video is outstanding). AND fuck yeah Revolution 9, I couldn't agree more, I think the Revolution 9/Good Night ending is kind of the ultimate move in brilliant album sequencing, and the capper of their crowning achievement. So, needless to say excited for you to do more Beatles videos. But anyway back to III, those last two songs heighten and intensify what the album had been leading to, and tie in with the artwork in an abstract but really satisfying way. The whole thing is just such a complete and fully realized work of art. Also, and it might be weird for me to say this, but I am really proud of you for making this video. It's a long and hard process to re-claim yourself, and many weaker men (and women) use it as an excuse instead to (paraphrasing George Clinton) descend to their lowest concept of themselves. But you have had, and will continue to have the fortitude to move forward. It's hard. I know. I re-built from rubble after my divorce. So, this is great. It's great to feel. It's great to be back in touch with parts of yourself that had you to turn off as a necessity. And it just keeps flowering. I'm nearly 7 years out from my day in court and I'm STILL re-claiming parts of myself. So, it takes courage & guts which I always could tell you had. So, great video, an important video, keep fighting, keep on rocking, and I will always be excited to check out what you do next. That shot of albums you want to talk about looks great!!
Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment, my good friend and brother. Thought you'd like my reappraisal of the White Album and Led Zep III's ending tracks. 😉 And yeah: like I said in the video, this one was actually highly cathartic and important to me. There's an even deeper and more personal subtext thanks to a section I decided to edit out because it was a little too personal for CZcams, but I'll reveal it to you tucked away here in a comment: "Since I've Been Loving You" was me and my ex wife's song. So by no longer making the song just about sex -- like I was doing while working through my divorce -- and finally re-embracing the romanticism of it and the album on a whole, I'm pretty much opening myself to love again (even though it hasn't happened yet). If you recall, even just a couple months ago when I did the Motown episode of the RAOYP with Ian Wadley, I was the "anti love song" guy and focused on songs about ballin' and urban hustle. It took me nearly two years, but I finally reclaimed "Since I've Been Loving You" and romanticism on a whole. I also appreciate what you said about me reclaiming myself without regressing as a human being. That's actually a very conscious thing on my part. I think it's important to keep building on your life and growing, even when you're taking certain figurative steps backward: meaning just because you're going back to feeling a certain way you felt in the past, doesn't mean you ARE the person you were in the past. It's about adding the right shade here and taking away another shade there and maybe one day when your time is up on this world, your life will be as perfectly realized as the Led Zep III album cover and song sequencing.
Kicking off the vid with "Out on the Tiles" killer song! 🤟
Hell yeah! Such a killer song!
I put Presents all the way at the bottom. Coda is the worst. But that dont count. I don't hate Presence. But I like all the other the most. Physical Graffiti is my favorite as well. Then Houses of the Holy, Zep 4 and then 3. Over all all Zeppelin albums rule. Except for Coda. Great video!
Thanks as always, Ralph. I love Presence, but like I said in the video, I only initially ranked it so high because of the place I was at in my life. As great as it is, it's definitely not on par with the first 6 albums. My ranking today would be: 1.) PG 2.) III 3.) Houses of the Holy (which I also ranked too low in that original video) 4.) II 5.) I 6.) IV (only because of burnout factor like Sabbath's Paranoid) 7.) Presence 8.) In Through 9.) Coda (which I agree is their worst but I still dig it).
Fucking Awesome man! “Led Zeppelin III” is one of my favorite albums of theirs.I’ll tackle a ranking of them eventually 🔥
Dude I’m glad to see you pulling through…Divorce is no joke! Especially when it’s coming from the other side and it’s unwarranted from yourself. My divorce fucking destroyed me and ripped my soul/mind to pieces. But Fuck that! We’re Rock n Roll super studs! Welcome back.
🤘🏻💀👍🏻
Thanks my Divorced Rock 'n' Roll Super Stud Brother!!! You get it for sure! 😉👍🏼I'm gonna wear my MGD shirt when I review the new Priest album...!!
I’ve gotta admit I’m not too crazy about the old Eddy. I prefer the friendly new Eddy. Great review. I obviously love 3 too.
You should do your entire Zeppelin ranking over again…now that you’re clear headed. You do a good job. Cheers ✌️
Ha! Thanks for watching and for commenting. I won't tell old Eddy what you think of him. 😉
Gosh Darn Eddy.
Thank you so much, Edwin for the namecheck Re: George Michael's appraisal of Zep's lascivious swagger. Not just the histrionic horniness of 'Whole Lotta Love' or 'Black Dog' but tracks like the wistful 'Down by the Seaside' have a post coital drowsiness.
My pleasure and George Michael knew what he was talking about: Led Zep made some of the sexiest rock n roll ever...!! 🔥
Eddy F'n Cannistraci! Ya gotta love this guy. This is probably my 3rd or 4th favorite Led Zeppelin album.
Thanks and right on! Such a great album!
Totally agree. Excellent video. ⚡😎
Right on! Thanks, Lizard1984!
@@EddyCannistraci You're welcome. I dig your style😎⚡
@@Lizard1984 Glad you dig it. 😎👍🏼
Love the shots fired at Rolling Stone magazine. My dad let me borrow his old issues from the late 60's and early 70's. One of the only bits I liked were the angry reader letters, one person wrote in and said "If I went with your record reviews I'd have the most piece of shit record collection ever" and another said "I wouldn't use your magazine to wrap my fish!"
I so understand where you're coming from. I bought my own house. Will be 4 yrs March 13th. I jam out with Zeppelin all the time. And Jimmy Rocks. Word be no Zeppelin without Jimmy.
Yeah, RS was always a rag run by a bunch of clueless elitists. Good for wrapping fish though. 😉
@@EddyCannistraci I enjoyed listening to you.
@@elainegoliszeski276 Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed listening to me.

Hi Eddy!!I'm ready to jam to LZ with you.😊
Hell yeah. Have it on vinyl?
Yes , sorry for delay. I have a collection of LZ vinyls.
I have 2 record players. Nothing special. I would love to buy an old-fashioned one. Is there any record player you can advise me on?
@@elainegoliszeski276 I just have a newer Audio-Technica myself. Likewise nothing special, but it does its job.
