Any clue what a pre released Molly hatchet promo record might be worth? Won it in a radio station call in give away , says not for sale promo only stamped right on it ,
@@robertgembala8532 WOW! You scored in my opinion, either way!
@@rileyreckoning3831 yeah I’m pretty happy with it, got it back in the 70s when they just started getting big, Can’t be the album art either, Hard to know which ones better Molly hatchet or Nazareth when it comes to album covers
Do you have any african American records that are rare?
@@chloeannmills8599 Good question. Although it falls in the Reggae/Jamaican category...I have an old Peter Tosh album must be from ...hmm...mid 70's.🌟
Back around 1990, I bought 36 cases of records from a guy for $800. Come to find out, his father was an executive for Columbia records. Every time they pressed a record, he got a copy. About 95% of these were either test pressings, or white label promos. Think, Miles Davis, Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd, Santana etc... Also Bruce Springsteen. I got a mint copy of that hand drawn Born to Run album. I sold it for $1500 at a record show back then. I still have about 90% of that collection in my stash.
Wow that’s amazing! 🤤
Keep that home address confidential, bro !!!
I've had so much of my collection stolen, smh
That's awesome
Well you made your money back
Is there a Discogs link ? so I can marvel at your collection like the record nerd I am lol
I have records that I have been saving since I was 7 years old. Now i,m 72 years old. Mostly sam cooke, and everything from the 40,s til they quit making records. I sold some and i,m leaving the rest for my kids. I love records better than I like cd,s.
I still have mine, too..74. I wore out my player 🤷♀️
You are so lucky. Mr. Cooke passed away when I was a toddler so I never got to see any of his TV appearances
Same I have records since I was 7 reggae ,I'm 55 and yep they're going to my kids 🍀🇬🇧👍🏼
I guess I’m an outlier here considering I’m just 18, but I’m really glad I decided to start vinyl hunting. It’s a wonderful hobby

I have a friend who is pretty old and he told me about how he was in a department store and remembered seeing a whole rack full of first state butcher covers the day they came out. Even though he was big into music and records and still is, he says he didn’t buy any because he didn’t like the Beatles.
Hahah wow
I had that album.
Not anymore though. It got thrown out.
He'd be rich if he could go back in time. buy them all and properly store for 50+ years. Well you know what they say about hindsight.

Nothing beats the sound of Vinyl.
I agree! Thanks for watching! 🙏
But , if you play them on a cheap system , it's useless.
In 1980 I had bought a big stack of albums from my oldest bro, which I no longer have bc my abusive ex had thrown them all out in a huge deep ditch that floods yearly. It was such a great loss to me, my bro had died a month later n I had cherished his albums. They had consisted of a variety of classic rock, disco, etc. I also had a variety of vinyl record albums n 45's from the 60's n 70's. My favorites were CCR, they had belonged to an uncle who had also passed away when I was 7 yrs old in 69, I had found them in 74. But two of my aunts had burned them all. Music was a huge part of my life, more healing. Losing all of the albums was such a great loss to me. So if y'all have record albums, cherish them, they're valuable in various ways.
You can always start again.
Hope you left that human slime!
I feel you.
@@Plarocks Thnx n yes I did, only I had to lie in order to get away. In 80 he had moved me n my unborn baby boy to his Rez, (we're Native Amer), within a month the A-hole had cheated, he was drunk, came home, brought it with em, they'd been laying together n had dirt n weeds on themselves n when I questioned em he had beaten the crud outa me. Unfortunately, it was the start of me being violently abused for 4 yrs. He had threatened me saying that if I had left em, he'd break my bones n mess my face up so nobody wud want me n I believed em, which is why I had lied saying that I'd be visiting my family n wud return to em, I didn't, thank God. I came close to being killed several times. The worst was having my jaws broken, eyes sealed shut, had a concussion n cracked ribs. Unfortunately, I had never put his ass in jail for fear I'd pay for it even worse. I was beaten 1-2 times a month during those 4 yrs. My 4 late bros n I had gone thru various abuses as children. Our mom was murdered when we were 4-8 yrs old n lived with other family afterwards, which is why I ended up being in abusive relationships. I've been single for 16 yrs, gave myself time to heal, I'm good now. I kept the truth from my family until a yr after returning back home, I tld one of my older bros n had to talk him out of traveling to AZ to get em, we live in NV/ID, I had never seen him that mad, angry. A part of me wanted him to pay em back but he wasn't worth my bro getting in trouble. After I had left was when he tossed my belongings in that ditch. There were two letters from our mom asking our dad's family how we were doing, they were also a great loss to me. Hope u dnt mind my long comment. God bless*

When my grandmother died, they were cleaning out the house and they put all the vinyls out for trash pickup. Talking hundreds of albums from 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. I took them all. Some still have never been opened. I remember seeing Rush, Led Zeppelin, Beetles, The Carpenters, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, etc. Maybe one day I will look through them. They are in storage right now.
Good on you for keeping them!!!!
@@noblerecords you just gave me a good idea for a CZcams video. I will make a video going through the titles. Probably have a few jewels in that bunch.
Granny was a rocker. A family treasure. Make sure they are stored and preserved correctly!
@@unabonger777 I will. I need to get them all together and go through them. Who knows. I know I saw some awesome labels when I was hurriedly putting them in boxes. My grandparents raised 8 kids spanning the 40s through the 80s. My dad was a WW2 baby and his youngest sister probably left home in the early 80s. They collected albums from every era in-between. I saw Hank Williams, Johnny cash, Dolly Parton, Led Zeppelin, Elvis, The Beatles, Madonna, some old Christmas shit, chipmunks crap, and all sorts of stuff. I also have an old turn table and radio set, 60s style that I kept from my wife's grandparents. It was filled with old LPs. The sound that comes from those 15s in that player is golden. Too bad I don't get to enjoy it like it should be.
I’ll give you $500 for all right now
Dillon I swear your videos are getting more and more fascinating every time out. They are becoming my favorite part of the week!! This is awesome!!
Thanks for the kind words! I’m trying! Tell your friends 🤣

Too bad he didn’t spend his entire paycheck on copies. Selling them would’ve been helping him in retirement.
Your description of "Diamond Dogs" is THE most eloquent I have EVER heard.
Hahahahaha why thank you!
So nice to hear that i have the friendly version 🥰
@@noblerecords I have the Bowie album, Diamond Dogs. The cover is not in a good condition. How much is it worth ? Ps, I live in South Africa, bought it here in Cape Town. Hoping to hear from you.
I remember buying records in the early '70's and on the back cover some had this statement printed: " The producer of this record recommends that this record be played LOUD as intended" or similar wording.
Haha yes

"This record was made to be played loud".
David Bowie. ..The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars... PLAY AT MAXIMUM VOLUME.

Dillon I know you’ve parted with some stunning records to have your store. I really hope the experience has given back to you. Certainly, we are grateful for what it’s allowed to do. Thanks for this video and all the others. So helpful and enjoyable. Making this an accessible and fun hobby. :)
Best video on this topic, on youtube this year. This is straight forward, simple and done with passion. Greatly appreciated.
I have followed and watched multiple vinyl channels, and yours is by far always the most insightful and informative.
I sold double groove vinyl albums I bought in Japan in the early 1980’s and sold them for super cheap back in the early 2000’s because I was carrying a box of albums around I wasn’t using and then came CDs and digital music … the other day I was in Walmart and they are selling vinyl… I wish I had kept my albums…I loved the music and had a hard time selling them and every time I hear one of my album songs I get a little said that I sold all those albums…selling those was selling were a little part of me because music is apart of who I am.
Rush is from Canada. I met them in Montreal at a party of a friend of mine. I didn't know they were Rush until I left and my friend said who they were. They are very down to earth people. They played a song that I hadn't at the time ever heard. I told them they were really good musicians. I laugh at that memory when I think of it.
Rush isn't from Canada. Rush is from another universe. 😉
I have a copy of the Number 2 Led Zep. First album I ever bought! Played at least a bazillion times. Turned me into a Led Head at the ripe age of 9. Never knew until now why it sounded so much better. THANKS!
That Butcher cover was sold at Sears. I know someone who has worked for Sears from the 60's to when they closed. She had 15 of them still with stickers on them. They were supposed to send them back for the updated version. I know that she sold 5 of them
I just asked another poster if they heard that same story. I remember about 30+ years ago that Sears put them on sale for one day before they were pulled off the shelf. Thanks for your post.
@@riverraisin1 You are welcome 😊
I love these videos! The details you go through of what makes them rare is very entertaining and informative. And I watch this in the hopes of stumbling upon some of these gems at a yard sale or thrift store lol
I have Diamond Dogs original given to me by David about one month before his passing. Amazing memories some sad some he was so comical in private I still laugh about it.
Hey, if anyone's wondering how to tell if their Springsteen born to run is the super rare advanced promotional issue what you'll need to do is go ahead and look at it and the label will read "advanced promotional". You're welcome.
I just watched this for the first time. My youngest brother died about 12 years ago at age 50 of heart disease. He left a large wooden, military style trunk that is full of 70's rock and roll, hard rock, etc. albums. The trunk has been sitting in my garage for years and I only opened it for the first time quite recently. I knew nothing of values for these records but now I am intrigued to go though them and check them out. I did notice Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Steppenwolf, and many other rock groups in there, upon just a cursory look. I am inspired to see what I can find out. Thank you for posting these videos!
I have an older friend who got a Beatles' Yesterday and Today album with the "Butcher" cover. I have actually seen it. It was still in the shrink wrap, unopened. There is a story behind it. But, someone once offered him $25,000 for it. He turned down the offer. He still has it and would not accept any offer less than $50,000 now. He is not interested in selling it and will likely pass it on to one of his heirs (he has 6 kids, 2 of which want the album!).
I've got The White Album in white vinyl. I don't know if it's worth anything but I've been dragging it around for years now.
What I recall is that Sears used to have quite a record department in their stores, back in the day. They were able to put that album on sale before other stores got it (in the USA). it was only on sale for one day before they were all pulled off the shelf because of the graphic cover.
Have you ever heard that story?
i could have bought a copy for £25 in 1980
I would open up the record and play it . Drive My Car , Dr Robert , And Your Bird Can Sing .........its a very good butcher job if you ask me !!!
Big Deal!!
This is a great video. When I watched it I thought hmmm, I have Rush’s first album. I think I had just seen them in Port Dover at the Summer Gardens here in Canada. I remember buying the album shortly after seeing them. I just checked and it’s on Moon records! Wow. I never ever thought I would own a record worth more than a thousand dollars! Thanks for putting out this video. I would never have known otherwise.
I’m so happy a rush fan said this , I was thinking hmm I’d just like to have it on vinyl ….lol I love that first album !
To me, it's the best record they ever put out. On the back of yours does it say "For best results play at maximum volume" as the US pressing does?

Thx for this posting this, glad ur video came up on my feed! I'm gonna have to looked at this original pressing of The Best of Cream I found from 1969 while cleaning and clearing my house for sale ;) The cover is in good shape as well as the record, the sleeve even has old advertisements for other old time records. I got from zeppelin ,beatles, to miles Davis, elvis , and a lot more, I have over a 1000 and I have no idea how much they are all worth. Your information helps. Thank you.
I have one of the turquoise Zeppelin records! Bought it on an auction where some old guy was selling a box of records. The final bid was only $100, I sold the ones I didn't like and in the end I made $30 profit. So essentially I GAINED money for getting that record.

So cool! I’m new to the game and now there’s something I can keep an eye out for! Thanks a ton. Keep ‘em coming
Many years ago, you could "Dig for Vinyl" in pawn shops and 2nd hand stores... We pulled out a Beatles Butcher Cover, un-peeled, from a junk shop in Olympia WA - early 1980's - also on that trip: found a New Tweedy Bros LP, one of Top Ten most rare rock LP's. 😎
You can still do that today. Most antique stores I go to will usually have at least one seller with a crate or two of vinyl. I always go through them
Record conventions used to fun--not to acquire rare pressings, etc, but to find albums in good shape from the obscure bands I loved in the 70s. Atomic Rooster's first record, Dave Greenslade's art book album ("The Pentateuch of the Cosmogony"), Colosseum Live! (double album), etc. Not rare and expensive, just hard to find.
Must share my brother was a greatful dead “ head” if I ever saw one. He traveled all over for concerts. I wish I had some of his things but I know he is with Gerry in the great blue sky having the time of his life. RIP my brother!

One I’ve always wondered about: Prince’s “The Gold Experience”. If it’s even available on vinyl, I’d bet it’s worth a fortune!
Dillon, I have a question. I got a name brand record player that will record onto a cd, which I haven't used for that purpose. The thing is, it includes a 78 speed setting, and I got some 78 records from a relatives attic. I cleaned them up as best I could, but some did have lots of dust, and even a dirt dobber nest, which I cleaned as best as I could. These are records from the 30's with big names, but I think I did a really dumb thing by playing one. I only played it for about 30 seconds before I realized it could possibly damage the needle, and then mess up some of my treasured a
Records. I was always careful to hold them by the edges, and not only dust wipe the record before playing, but use a bit of dust off on the needle as well. This is the best way to get rid of even subtle pops, short of having your own clean room to listen in. (Used for making hard drives) haha... Anyway, do you recommend changing the needle before playing a modern vinyl record, or is just giving the needle a good cleaning with some isopropyl alcohol enough??? I love old records. I passed up a bootleg zeppelin album at a yard sale in Fayetteville NC a few years back. Didn't have the space. One record I have that is a 38, might be worth something. It is the recording of Neil Armstrong landing on the moon and going out with his One step for Mankind speech. It is mint condition with a photo on both sides of the cover slip. The cover does have some very minor creases from holding.

Hello Dylan, Great video very informative. I have a DB “Diamond Dogs” story. Long story short, my friend once called me up and asked if I can come over and help him look through a box of records he just bought. So I did looking through the records I saw DB “DD” lp, I said I think this is the rare genitals cover. Then I looked at the record and it was a test pressing “WOW” He finally sold it to Amoeba Records, Hollywood for $3500. This was about 20yrs ago whenever we get together we talk about that day…! Hope you read this you get soo many comments. Thanks ☮️✌️☮️ BTW I saw the record on the wall at AR selling for $5000 and it sold.
Great. Very informative ... and I've been collecting records for 55 years but - back in the mid-60s - I remember getting rid of a first press Velvet Underground because some of the songs were too loud and raucous ie 'Heroin' ... later passing up on a box of 20 + Odyssey & Oracle albums (in Woolworth's) at 50p (50c?) each, and a box of 30 Pretty Things ' Midnight to Six Man' eps, (20c ea) because I only needed one of each - right. (by the way, good that you don't swear in your uploads)
I’m a really big fan of the Velvet Underground, and I was lucky enough see them in concert in their 1993 reunion tour in London at Wembley arena, I’m only 61 so, I am to young to remember them in their day but over the years I’ve collected quite a few of their albums on vinyl, I know they only made 4 albums but I have many compilation albums but, I would love to get hold of the first album that you are talking about that’s for sure, with its original cover with the zip on the cover but I bet there isn’t many of them around now but they didn’t make very many of the zip cover anyway but, I would imagine that they are worth quite a bit of money now.
I don't remember a zip on the first VU album ... but a peelable banana!@@mrfugazi6713

This was well done. There are more of course (Simon & Garfunkel, Mamas & Papas) but a great overview. Can't decide whether this will help reduce the amount of sellers coming in with Moody Blue blue vinyl thinking they have a fortune coming, or that it may actually increase those kinds of sellers coming in. Wasn't aware of Wake Of The Flood but this kind of thing fascinates me. We've had lots of Synchronicity collectors coming in asking to see our Police dupes. The one we always get here is Dylan's greatest hits with the psych poster. There was some Time article years ago that apparently everyone read stating those copies are worth hundreds or more. Still get that all the time. In any case nice work!

You're very animated and excited, I love it.
Great video there. I need to mention when it comes to the Beatles butcher cover, the stereo copies are much more scarce than the monos and therefore command a higher price. In 1966 mono LP's were about a dollar cheaper and were still selling in larger quantities.
Yeah I should’ve mentioned that! Thanks for watching! 🙏
Yes. Good friend, Beatle nut used to buy mono lp's.
Hello Dylan, I collect Alice Cooper records. When it comes to Holy Grail pressings Easy Action on the Bizarre (blue) label is extremely desirable. The first three albums, Pretties For You, Easy Action & Love It To Death were originally released on Frank Zappa's Straight Records. They then moved to Warner Bros. I have a quadraphonic version of Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon. I also have the Australian produced version of AC/DC's High Voltage with the cover of TNT boxes and dirt. Folds open and there are mug shot pics of the band members with details and description of each of them.
There are about a dozen versions of those Australian AC/DC pressings. Depends on which one you have that has the most worth - like the blue labels with the yellow kangaroo on its label. Secondary, you have the condition both the cover and especially the condition the vinyl is in that sets its price. No one wants a worn out G+ vinyl.
They're only worth a fortune to someone who wants them, willing to pay the money for them
Sounds like a deal

That RUSH moon is nice. I do not own that but I have the Moon 45 that was released at the same time. There are two versions, promo stamped and non-promo. Apparently the non is worth more. I paid $15.00 for mine now worth about 1000.00 to 1500.00 like the LP. It's framed on my wall!
Hi, what songs are on the 45 ? I’m a fan so I’m curious, thanks ! I love that first album

I own a test pressing of 'hotel california' w a autographed white cover... only been played 3x... and of course theres a story... lol... always wondered what it could be worth... "is it 5 oclock yet" is inscribed in the vinyl near the label... unique, for sure!
I imagine the old mono albums from the Beatles will increase in value being the engineers being interviewed which are now all over You Tube swear by them as the best sounding because they were mixed to sound the best tonally in mono and are the ones they put the most work into to get the sound they all wanted. They said they hate all the remixes. So regardless of what sounds best to our ears does not mean it is worth more.
Geoff Emerick (RIP) abhorred the Sgt. Pepper reissues.
There's a lack of musical literacy in the last 20 years. Case in point: The George Harrison All Things Must Pass anniversary. No understanding of what a mix is meant to do, they just put George's voice like frosting on a cake. Sounds like garbage.
I have a Led Zeppelin II RL mix. Was actually one of my dads original records. Pretty beat up but the drums definitely smack you in the face. Love that album.
New sub today & now I have to pull out all of my albums to check. I grew up in the early 70's smoking a lot of weed and buying a lot of records while putting pillows in between 2 15 inch pioneers blowing 150 watts thru my pioneer 1050. I wish I could go back there. Damn Hippies !!!!
This was a well-researched clip. Thanks for the info.
I was hoping you would include The Rolling Stones album "Sticky Fingers". A few years back I found a original pressing that was undamaged by the zipper. I have found such a wide range of prices on the LP and I'm not sure what to believe. Love your channel, THANKS !
Well we get them very often, worth about $40 in good shape
I have several milk crates full of albums from the 60's, 70's and 80's in the garage. Always wondered if they might be worth something some day, these were mine from back in the day, don't even remember most of what albums I have but know I have several beetles and zeppelin albums.
Nope not worth nothing but, I just love listening to this music so much I will give you too dollar and pay postage 😊 😉
The beetles ones wont be worth much but that other group The Beatles maybe. :)
@@Jewellerybybarrie Weren't The Beetles in the 1953 Marlon Brando film 'The Wild One".
I have 33s & 45s. A couple of records Date back to the 40s & 50s like grandpa Jones & Houston given to me by my grandmother when I was young, I'm 65 now & they were never played. I have Elvis when he first started out, Abba & so many more. My kids will probably sell them when I pass
I hear you Larry. But at least you tried and that counts.
This was great--I always learn something from your videos! Proud to say I own four of the titles you showed! Trying to commit this and the monthly "most expensive" Discogs lists to memory for when I'm out in the world!
Wow! Wonder which 4 🤔
Great video! Regarding the Led Zeppelin II vinyl, it’s ludicrous to think someone could work at a record label and be so thick as to make a call like that (it being played on a kids record player) and then having it remixed. An example of too much power that shouldn’t have been granted.
wasn't remixed, but lowered in sound volume. It was common back then, if it didn't work on all turntables, they fixed it. If the grooves are too big (too large waveforms), there will be large low frequency (bass) curves that made the needle jump out of the grooves. Equipment got better, so nobody cared later on about those cheap turntables.
Hey there, Dylan ( spelling) I'm a subscriber and a long time collector. I won't claim to have any " holy grail" Big bux records in my collection, I bought my first album " Best of Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs in early '66, I was ten years old. I pretty much stopped when CDs replaced vinyl in the mid- late 80s. I have a few personal faves like the Fugs first 3 albums on ESP, a couple more on Reprise, a beat copy of Nazz II in red vinyl, a Hampton Grease Band 2lp played only once, and the Elvis box set, silver 25th anniversary, low numbers, a Moby Grape " Live Grape" in a purple- white swirl, etc. Got the first Seeds LP, the first 2-3 Electric Prunes LPs- I'm a big psychedelic/ Garage rock fan, Dead fan, probably an average collector with about 3,000 records, perhaps more. So, as I said, I don't believe I have much in the way of " Big money" collectible stuff, just some cool oddball. I just wanted to let you know I appreciate your vids, I'm a subscriber and good luck to you movin' forward.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I'm looking to sell a bunch of old classic lps and had no idea where to start.
Interesting video, though I have non of the shown records. I got some a little more valuable first british pressings of certain King Crimson-albums, which might already be my most valuable records. The most "lucky" pieces in my collection are Guns'n'Roses "Spaghetti Incident", original european pressing from it's release, which I bought arround 1998 when a music store in my area sold all it's vinyl on a discount to get rid of it. As I hardly ever played it, I'm sure it's NM, as it was stored well all those years. Was laughing out loud learning that it was worth 80 Euros and more, when I got back into vinyl 2 years ago. Wasn't able to get rid of it, when I tried to sell my old small collection back in the day. The other one is an israelian pressing of Led Zeppelins "IV", which I recently bought on a flea market in Berlin for 3,50 Euros. It is at least in VG+-condition, after a good spin-clean it played flawlessly just a few hairlines from the paper sleeve (now it rests in a antistatic one). Hardly could believe, that made arround 100 Euros on discogs. Nothing worth a fortune, but it shows, that there still can be some lucky finds and unknown treasures arround.
Thanks for watching! 🙏
I have RUSH: Caress of Steel with both sides labeled the same side
my friend collects 1,000's movie soundtracks .....it is amazing he can remember all the songs, artists too. That room has a certain "Record smell" I remember from the record stores way back in the day . I have a bunch of picture discs .. but they are all bootlegs mostly.
Cool! Thanks for watching! 🙏
I bought 3 of Elvis moody blues rare color records sealed!!, they have a color dot on the front right top corner printed on the cover!, I got black dot, white, red. Worth thousands. Got for $5.00 each.
Jethro Tull "Thick As a Brick" First pressing with the original Newspaper album cover! With Little Milton on the front page!
100% Classic!
Cool one! Thanks for watching! 🙏
Got 1. Had 1, lost it, took close to 20 years to find another.
I have one and occasionally play it. It is still in great condition.
That was a lot of fun. I didn't know about all the different versions of "Synchronicity." It's all about the music, though. Which is the best sounding? Thanks for the cool info!
Very true! Not sure about the sound quality.
For sound, you can't go wrong with the original purple translucent Robert Ludwig presses, (looks black until held in front of light) but there are black versions also. But! There are some horrible black pressings from the old Columbia House record club. When I come across those I buy them just to give away to friends that aren't vinyl fans but like The Police 😂
@@tendraftsdeep I'd only heard about the "purple" version of "Synchronicity" when a local record store posted a photo of it in their new/old releases. When I went down, they still had it and I bought it. Sounds great and it's...purple. Though I read that it wasn't supposed to be, that it was a side effect of that particular vinyl.
I did not know that about Synchronicity, looked mine up in the sun, and was surprised to see the purple come alive. Cool!
@@stevelarouche2331 awesome! I always wanted to think it was a clue to look for hidden messages in the music, Haha. I've got one that's amber brown when held to the light, the sound is good on that too.
Hi Dylan thanks for sharing your information it helped me alot. I'm an avid vinyl collector I love buying the music I love of course but it's good to know what the real rare stuff is too. I'm going to look around at the stores that sell vinyls and see if I find anything interesting. Maybe I won't but I'll have fun doing that anyway! I love your channel! ☺️🎶🎵🎶 I'm also an avid Rush fan too and I didn't know about the Canadian release of their first album! 🤔👏
So good and entertaining commentary!
Happy that I stumbled on your channel,I love old vinyl,I had about 900 albums and a bunch of 45s,singles and also 78s,and every Elvis Presley record ever... sadly all were lost in 2011 when Blizzard Alfred ripped through Connecticut and dumped 4 feet of snow and ice, destroying the quansett hut house I lived in,I subscribed the second you said you sold you Led Zeppelin album to start your record business, that is true passion and commitment 👍👍

Neil Young's first self titled album is highly collectable since he recalled it to remix some of the tracks. Check it out!
Quickly identifiable by the later addition of his name across the top. Originally it had the same 1/8th inch white border around a fully square art. Some of the later CD reissues I've seen use the original art
Most don't know about the Greg Calbi mastered and cut Zeppelin II that he did in 1974 or so. He is a recording engineer that took the RL notes apparently and reissued as close a version of what Robert Ludwig did originally for this record. Look for GC in the deadwax- sounds really good and in my opinion, the next best issue of Zeppelin II
As a teen, my dad's coworker would occasionally give him a demo copy w/ slot cut in outer jacket, & not to be sold decal on them. Later went to his house,
Every wall /room, had fruit crates floor to ceiling crammed with almost every type of music on vinyl or acetate LP, amazing collection.
Back in the early 80's, my brother was a manager at Record Bar. He had several crates of "cut-outs" and was often, also, given promotional concert tickets,
back stage passes and several times had various groups stop by the store to make public appearances. With all the interaction with these (mostly) rock
groups, he would get the band members to autograph the many albums he had collected. It was a really cool collection until his house caught fire and
burned to the ground. He and his family were not hurt but all their possessions - including the awesome record collection - was lost.

Back in 1982 I was at a friends house. He showed me a copy of the Beatles butcher album (1st state) and said "this is worth a lot of money". I wasn't into vinyl at the time and just replied "whatever".
