    The third and final video in my series examining the “Bon Scott Wrote Back In Black” conspiracy. I dive into some of the more serious and substantial aspects of this rock ’n’ roll narrative: the timeline in which Bon, Brian and the Young Brothers had to compose songs for Back In Black; Bon’s productivity and overall state in his final days; producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange’s possible role as a music arranger and co-songwriter; Angus Young’s conflicting quotes regarding how much Bon wrote or didn’t write in preparation for the album; the question of motive and whether or not stealing Bon’s lyrics made any sense in 1980. Finally, I discuss the importance of Back In Black and how the conspiracy undermines the legacy of Bon Scott and the band…!!

    In all of this theres also one solid factor through this entire fictional conspiracy. Harry vanda and george young.
    Lyrical minders you could say.
    They along with mal and angus groomed both bon and brian for ac/dcs trademark sound.
    Logically there will always be similarities between the two singers because they had the same direction imprinted on them by the same teachers ( for lack of a better word)

    • @EddyCannistraci
      @EddyCannistraci  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Exactly. Because my videos dealt with the writing of BIB, I focused more on Mutt Lange's role in helping the band shape their songs, but no doubt the Vanda and Young influence was forever a part of Angus and Mal's songwriting approach. Add to the fact that George was also their older brother who was a successful musician and songwriter, it's not a stretch at all to call him "a teacher". One fact I didn't learn until after making these videos was that the songs "Rock and Roll Singer" and "Soul Stripper" were both in the band's setlist BEFORE Bon joined. Consider the lyrics in those songs: definitely what fans would perceive as "Bon Scott-esque" (especially "Rock and Roll Singer"). This isn't to take away from Bon's lyrical contributions but he was obviously given a basic framework to work within and developed his style accordingly (explaining why he never wrote anything like his lyrics in AC/DC prior to AC/DC and why Brian could likewise adapt to the this lyrical framework).

    Brian Johnson wrote only 5 songs over 5 albums with Geordie and then just shart out all those great lyrics on BIB no problemo lol. And then wrote mostly word salad nonsense on every album after. Bon wouldn't have written all those lyrics on the album but you can bet your ass that the basics of those tracks would have been penned by him. Certainly enough for a credit. There is a live performance of Up To My Neck In You that is basically word for word what ended up on Powerage performed live 4 months before they recorded the album so thinking he wasn't working on lyrics for songs way before they were recorded is absurd

    • @Peter_Dixon
      @Peter_Dixon Před 7 měsíci +1

      Brian didn’t write a full sentence for AC/DC , his non disclosure agreement gave him writing credits till ‘88 to keep his mouth shut about BIB . Once that expired his new agreement meant no more writing credits , the Youngs knew by 1981 he had no writing skills .

    I agree with you. The theory that Bon wrote the lyrics to the Back In Black album is nothing more than a conspiracy theory with no facts or proof to back it up, just hearsay from unreliable second hand sources. The timeline basically proves that it's extremely unlikely, pretty much impossible that Bon wrote the lyrics to the BIB album. There is a lot of cognitive dissidence coming from the conspiracy theory believers who believe that Bon wrote those lyrics and that's just sad and silly. And before anyone jumps to any conclusions about my agenda here, I'm a Bon man and a huge fan of Bon's, he's my music hero and imo the best lead singer in Rock history but he didn't write the lyrics to the BIB album. PERIOD!

      Thanks for watching and for commenting. And likewise, Bon is one of my favorite singers and Powerage is my favorite album of all time. But that doesn't mean I'm going to take songwriting credit away from another one of my favorite singers without any proof. And, as I made clear in this video, the "Bon Wrote BIB" theory doesn't work with the timeline or the band's established songwriting process. But you can throw facts and reason at these "Bon Wrote BIB" folks for weeks and they'll never change their mind. They like believing this narrative and therefore will never stop believing it.

    I think Eddy is still recovering after being dealt a massive take down from Jesse Fink in the comments to his last video. I had such high hopes for you Eddy. You make a false claim. Simon Wright did not support Angus Young’s statement. Simon Wright said Angus Young played him a demo of Bon Scott playing drums to ‘Back in Black’. A single song. Not ‘some of the Back in Black songs’. There’s an important difference. Angus Young has never said Bon Scott played drums on ‘Back in Black’. Simon Wright contradicted him! Angus Young only ever said Bon Scott played drums on two songs, the names of which change depending on the interview, and they weren’t ‘Back in Black’.

      "Massive take down from Jesse Fink"? Yeah, Jesse sure put the hurt to me by insulting me and repeating the same "evidence" from his book. It was truly humiliating. I can't imagine why he wouldn't want to debate me in a video since he owns my ass so severely in CZcams comments. 😜You people are seriously living in an alternate reality. So now you're saying -- because of Simon's single quote on something that happened decades ago -- that Bon only played drums on "Back In Black" and not a handful of songs that ended up on the album, huh? I guess it's just like I said in the video: Angus has been spinning things to make it sound like Bon did more than he did.😉

    • @Violasobriquet
      @Violasobriquet Před 8 měsíci +3

      Alternative reality? The only alternative reality is the one you’re living in where you believe people give a damn what you think. Why would Jesse Fink give you any more of his attention than he has already? He comprehensively tore you apart. The only research you do is taken from his book, which is 1000x more convincing than anything you have said here. After four videos, you still haven’t made a case. You know the importance of Wright’s statement about Bon playing drums on ‘Back in Black’. Angus never said Bon Scott played drums for that song, the title for the album that is supposed to be a tribute to him. You just choose what you want to use to reinforce what has turned into a losing argument. Good luck. At this rate you’ll have a sponsorship with CZcams by 2075
