    SEATTLE TRIP 2024 SERIES - Day 1 / Episode 1
It is Day 1 of our Road Trip to Seattle. We left Los Angeles at 4:30AM in the morning and the first stop was to pick up Grandma Evelyn in Simi Valley. We begin our trip with a sunrise drive through the Grapevine/ Tejon Pass making our first official stop in Wheeler Ridge/Tejon Ranch for some breakfast at McDonald's. We continue north to Kettleman City for a quick stop at Starbucks and a longer stop at Bravo Farms/Bravoland. Here you can eat at their restaurant, enjoy some ice cream at their lab, shop at their market for fruits, nuts, and beverages, including alcoholic drinks, and the normal market fare. They also have a large eating area in the back with some old western themed buildings for the kids to play around, and an old western themed area in the front to venture around and take pictures along with a small dog park. It is a good place to stop and relax and hit the restrooms.
We continue up the 5 Freeway passing rest stops and a stop at Dos Amigos Vista Point for a driver switch. We pass Santa Nella (Pea Soup Andersen's), stop for gas at Costco in Manteca, and one additional stop at the Power Market in Lathrop for some lottery picks, snacks, and some alien fun. We eventually make it to our second full destination at Old Town Sacramento. Here we tour Old Town, do some shopping, and eat at Frankie's Pizza for lunch. Food was okay. Nothing too exciting. It started to rain a bit, so didn't do too much. Headed out back on the 5 Freeway to Redding California. Checked into our Hotel at the Hampton Inn & Suites, and settled in to prep for the next long driving day.
Next Up: We continue north on the 5 freeway. We find an oversized Orange, the world's largest Grindstone, the beginning of the Sacramento River, Oregon Border, some great BBQ, and a bunch of Covered Bridges in Cottage Grove. We find a wonderful Hotel in Lebanon Oregon.

First day on a road trip and especially on the 5 Freeway through central California not always the most exciting, but we definitely find things to do and see. We always tend to stop in the Wheeler Ridge/Tejon Ranch area for some snacks or meals. Bravo Farms in Kettleman City tends to be a place we frequent a lot as well, whether it be for a tex mex meal at their restaurant, ice cream at their lab, or as we did on this stop, shop for items or snacks in their market. It's a fun western themed stop along the way. I guess we kept with the western theme when we visited Old Town Sacramento. We enjoyed our time there, though it was rather drizzly and we couldn't do too much. I think we settled for lunch. Wish we had more time there to enjoy the Old Town and find a really nice place to eat. One of the fun stops we found on this trip was the Alien invaded Power Market and Gas Station in Lathrop. That was an unexpected but entertaining stop, and we got some snacks & lottery out of it. It was a great day, but a long drive. Next Up we head into Oregon and find some more unique stops along the way.
