#PostMalone #Nirvana #Livestream - Hudba
Not performing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is probably the most Nirvana thing ever.
Fkn agree
Jimmy Notes fax
Except if he played the Weird Al version
It's not even their best song.
Still wish he played it
Crazy to think that for a lot of people watching this was their first time hearing Nirvana
F for that broh
I really doubt his audience doesn't know nirvana, at least I think every one that was born before 2006 knows them
I know it’s so sad also the fact that he was wearing a dress like come on Kurt Cobain always wore crazy clothes on stage and off
Erik P. sad
tal3s I’ve met lots of people under 18 who have no idea who they are, or any other super amazing bands. Kinda sad honestly. That bands will eventually just be forgotten.
Anyone else that’s listening to this 3 years later? Post is rockin’ it all day everyday! 👌
Check out his cover of Them Bones on stern!
Yes, I go back to this often! Fantastic tribute. All great musicians having fun for a good cause. Wearing dresses as Nirvana often did. They definitely understood the assignment!
I'm like what?! I love me some post Malone but Nirvana?! Oh yeah!
I’m here man and I love it
try to every month - this can't be forgotten
my dad loved every genre of rock you could imagine, and never rap, despite my different tastes and trying to introduce him to new music. We are both hardcore Nirvana fans. As soon as he discovered this stream, all he talked about was post malone and how talented he is.
My father passed in 2022. Post malone was an unexpected connection between us.
Thank you so much Austin for every aspect of your music and kindness...
sorry for your loss man, sending love to you and yours ❤
Beautiful story. So sorry for your loss. ❤
I'm glad you found this connection with him before he passed! I'm sorry for your loss. May he rock & rest in peace! 🤘🤟🤟🤘
RIP
Post Malone just gained an entire generation of fans.
True and so did Nirvana
jay It was to honor kurt.
Natasha Darling that is so true
@jay dude Cobain wore that shit on stage all the time...
yeah im gen z but i didn't care for him but now... now... i love him
Plot twist : Post Malone has been doing rap just so he can kickstart his rock career and make it mainstream again
You want to know something funny? Post has mentioned that he will do go in to rock in the future, but he is using rap to pay the bills and he is also enyoing it though. But he is effectively using a super mainstream plattform to prepare to sling himself into the not so mainstream further ahead. He just want's to cover all his angles first. So you're not far of!
He used to be into post-hardcore/metalcore. When he was younger. He even auditionned to be part of a band called Crown the Empire. Look it up.
I was thinking this
This could do it
Agree ! 100%
We'll come back in 10 years and realize how awesome this really was.
The best Nirvana cover band of all time.
Yes !
100%. I heard someone mention travis barker then I remembered “oh didn’t he do a full set of nirvana songs with post during lockdown?” Now I’m here. I was very down and lonely during lockdown, but this livestream made me smile
@@metapillsPost actually does Kurt's vocals justice. It's like he's channeling him.
Post went full Dave Grohl(great frontman), Travis went full Dave Grohl(animal drumming), the rest of the band went full Dave Grohl(unsung). Kurt watched this and loved it.

Same here, buddy. Same here and agree.
I'm with you John Dorsey. I'm 52, was sceptical but that changed after a couple of bars. Great stuff
The fact that he did not play Smells like teen spirit speaks to how much of a fan he is.

This is so good but you must’ve hear “Whispering Wolf” or “The Wave” by SLT 🤘🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸
This is why I respect post. He is unlike all the other rappers who try to enter the rock genre. He actually can scream and make rock songs that sound awesome. I definitely agree that he should consider dropping a grunge album or at least make a metal/grunge single. The man has a ton of talent
Denzel Curry did pretty good on Rage Against The Machine
Thing is Post used to do metalcore stuff before he was Post Malone so hes not trying to enter the rock genre
his drive vocals are dope
His natural voice is much better than autotune.. So he should make a rock album !!
He was in metal band for a while

Wearing a dress and not playing Smells Like Teen Spirit is Nirvana af. Well done guys.

I want to hear him sing that too dammit
They didn’t play that song?
After Teen Spirit got big, Nirvana played the song way less frequently after the initial tour for the album, so hearing it not be played was a good thing. As well as the starting song being "Frances Farmer will have her revenge on Seattle"
This guy gets it. Well put sir.
I am a lifetime Nirvana fan. I was fortunate to be able to see them in concert many years ago before Kurt passed. This is one of the best covers I have ever heard!!! You're amazingly talented Post!!!
Debatable
@@louisfernandezleija69just stop 💀
@@louisfernandezleija69 yea, stop trying to be different louis.
I’m actually really staggered that Post has such a low opinion of his natural singing voice. Sure, it’s not “conventionally” good, but there’s so much passion and raw aggression in it that it’s perfect. Dude’s a real one.
Post Malone is way too talented to be in one genre. Massive props
He spans many genres
@josh homeshool josh, thats what he said booger. Hes insanely talented on all the levels.
Straight up.
Absolutely!!
Agree! He can do it all. And a damn good job too
When Travis Barker isn't actually playing drums he looks like he really wants to be playing drums

When I saw he performed lounge act I was like ohhhh shit
There’s a whole community out there that has been waiting for grunge and punk rock to be revived and I’m starting to believe it’ll happen soon
Travis is working hard to make it happen. The stuff he did with mgk and maggie Lindemann is so good.
It's about damn time, we're long over due!
This virtual trailer park you describe should be led by Sir Malone.
Revival? When did it ever go away?

Travis Barker absolutely killed it on the drums in this set. I often come here for the cover of Breed !
funny to see how excited he expected every song to start as post kept talking and introducing the songs 😂
I thought he was a little too aggressive, he kept speeding up the songs and they had a hard keeping up, you tell by the reactions of the band
He seemed nervous and impatient to me ^^@@diiastech
April 5,2024 and this is still such a fitting tribute
As a person who was around in the early 90’s and saw Nirvana live twice, i want to say GREAT FUCKING JOB!!!! Keep the fire burning!!
I was and this man is the most talented EVER...Maybe next to GNR and he's ONLY JUST BEGUN 😲

Wow, you're such a lucky man having a two chances attended Nirvana Live concert!

Welcome to the posty apocalypse! Kurt is glad you could make it. Welcome to the deathspinendoftheworldpostcalypse.
@Jason S again, good one! Really got him. Might wanna check n see if u hurt his feelings
So I remember watching this live with my now wife. Both of us were aware of Post Malone but didn’t know a single song or anything by him. We thought we’d give this a shot and both of us were pleasantly surprised.
Both of us being huge Nirvana fans saw this and thought it was one of the best tributes. He didn’t try to sound like Kurt and was himself. Such a cool tribute that I find myself coming back too view often.
I’m a huge Post Malone fan, I’m a huge Nirvana fan, what in the world did I just witness here?
This has to be the best Nirvana tribute I’ve ever heard in my life!
Seattle here, 52yr old, I was here in the city, through all of it.. Tad, Green River, Screaming Trees, PJ, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana. I love this. I literally have never listened to Post. These are just dudes playing music that they love. So good. Love, love, love.
I haven't listen to the screaming trees in 20yrs ..good memories.
Those are my favorite 😍 I was born in Seattle.
Been over 20 years since was able to enjoy awesome grunge gig. Post kicked it!
Check out his Don't Think Twice, That's Alright (Bob Dylan) cover. That was what got me hooked on him.
Got to do Lollapalooza when all of these bands were noones.

I can not stop promoting Post Malone's talent. He not only supported a good cause, but he channeled Kurt Cobain's love for supporting women with wearing the dress, but he rocked the cover songs-- even I don't know most of the lyrics and I've been a fan since the 90s.

Visiting this after 3 years. My gen x dad isn’t a fan of post malones music but loves this performance. He usually isn’t a fan of nirvana covers but loves this whole video. We watched this and Jamed out to the whole thing
One of the most difficult things to pull off…yet Post & the boys deliver beautifully. Kurt IS so proud of the kindness in your heart, the authentic delivery of the performance, and the DGAF attitude with which y’all play these incredible songs. For anyone who says Post Malone isn’t Rock’n’Roll, I beg to differ. “Say when…”
Easy Doc
i think the most impressive thing is that he knows all the lyrics by heart. you can tell hes a big fan of nirvana
All of them know every single song by heart. It's impressive how much nirvana impact on people's nowadays music expression
This is what he used to do before post Malone... You may still be able to find an old cover from him.
Thot I mean if you know him well he was in a band about 9 years ago, he’s a huge fan of rock and metal
Mark Douglas and you can?

I rewatch this over and over again. Post killed this and remember dancing around my house when this was streaming live . Would pay anything to watch this exact lineup playing these exact songs
It would be a masterstroke if they toured this live...
3 years later and this is still f**king awesome!

I like more Post Malone as a Rocker than a Rapper.
therealgoody that’s cool. Kinda like a Staind situation.
therealgoody it would be cool if he could bring some energy back to the current rock scene which, I feel like is dying. When I was in high school we had so much new and good rock music coming out - system of the down, korn, deftones, etc. Everything lately is disappointing. Maybe it’s just me?
Hip hop is the new rock though- it's the counter-culture thing parents hate
@@wallboi7 THIS! All the parents listen to rock. It's their culture. The youth just like in the past rebelled against parents and hip hop is the counter culture overall. Hip hop is beginning to have more rock elements with popular artists as of late. It's interesting for sure.

His deep Kurt voice should be his all the time voice. Excellent tribute
its 2023 and i still go back to this stream to have my fix of Nirvana medley. One of the best rendition ive watched. kudos and props to Post. Hes a generational talent. Pundits of Rap can get their talent hold up on one genre for all we care. This guys not bounded by precepts of musical limitation, that makes him a legend already.

Wow 3 years later, I stumble on this, freaking awesome job, loved it!
He did an amazing job of covering Nirvana. I was actually shocked at this lol. Great job Post!
Also, People making fun of post for wearing a dress is just him paying homage to Kurt who would often wear dresses to shows.
These muggles and posers didnt deserve your guidance......
Yup! Kids these days just won't get it.
"With everyone's help he will recover, HE WILL MAKE IT" Reading '92
If they don’t know, they don’t know Nirvana.
And also: Even if Kurt didn't. Who the fuck "makes fun" of someone wearing a dress?
I’m impressed at how Travis actually stays true to Grohls original drumming and doesn’t add his own spin and busy it up. I love barkers style but these songs are so iconic I don’t think more drum fills would do them any favors and I guess Travis agreed.
Jacob Dexter This. While I’d have no problem With Travis adding his flavor, I was pleasantly surprised to staying in Grohls pocket.
Grohl would be proud
To me, that IS the mark of a good musician. To be able to put your ego aside and just do what is best for the music. Respect for the great T. Baker!
Can we all agree in 2023 this is the concert we need now!!
Idk maybe 🤷♂
most definetly
Can we get a movement going? How do we make this happen?

I wish there was a way to highlight your comment cause you actually got all the songs listed which came in handy while I fucking missed About A Girl & another song using those 2 other dude's list instead. Appreciate you doing this for people, man!!!
This is actually bad ass.
Gotta love this guy
Can't believe I had to scroll this far down to see this
The real MVP.
It seems like not many people have listen to Post Malones album Beerbongs and Bentleys. It's a master piece from start to finish💯.
This is just the icing on the cake for proof he is an amazingly talented individual.
Things like this are the only real reason to appreciate COVID times. We would never have got this beauty without it.
😆 🤣 😂 right o
I had never listened to this artist until today. I'd heard "of" him. I don't understand the 3.9K dislikes on this. I thought it was unexpectedly outstanding.
People just dont like rock anymore and its sad
@@fuqq3136 I hear ya but I maintain hope that it will change again :)
Courtney Love Spamming the dislike button because she isn't getting paid for it.
Phu Vet it’s all good to me, the dislike button don’t wreck my day 😊
Agreed. Though the Flow water product placement was definitely a bit off-putting
Obviously no one can replace Kurt but post absolutely nailed this
💯
How fucking epic would it of been if Dave Grohl joined for a song.... would of pooped my self 😂😂😂
Agreed.
He dont wanna this
I agree...and he already has his style..he is a songwriter and he likes covers too and me too...i imvite you to see my nirvana covers and if you apreciate ..subscribe ..thanks for your atention ..from 🇧🇷
Love hearing your eclectic taste in music…and not just playing the hits but the B side hits…awesome
how TF have i only just heard about and found this?!?! fuggin incredible. can't believe the level of original respect and absolute essence is flowing thru this performance. unreal.
This is OUTSTANDING. If you have any doubts, I dare you to watch the first three minutes of it and not get sucked in for the whole ride.
Post Malone is actually dope. Never really gave him a chance. Dig it.
Same, thought I'd check this out and see what he was all about. Liking it.
HAUL Hip Hop OLHEM ISSO

Post is pretty bad ass...hes one of those guys who isnt afraid of trying new shit....unlike all the cookie cutter stuff we are used to listening to
Felt the exact same way back when I noticed a Bob Dylan cover that he did. He's a very talented individual! Hopefully he sticks around and we all get to enjoy it for years to come.
Ya man lots of these dudes are musically talented in more ways than one. Then they choose a lane to make it in. And to make it, you need to build an image in one lane. So ppl judge without really giving the artist a chance
Nice to see musicians who can perform on actual instruments. A sight that is much rarer than it should be nowadays.
These four need to make an album. It would be amazing
From a 40 year old Nirvana lifer, u killed it. Holy Christ. School!! Love it.
How did he channel Kurt for that song?
Amen, brother. They did a very good tribute to Nirvana, and I enjoyed this immensely.
Exactly what I was thinking, you can hear it when he sings the ones he liked
To think there’s some kids out there hearing nirvana for the first time.. Very cool! Good job!
Excellent observation!
Chris Zamora for sure!!

Even if they’re listening for the first time, AT LEAST they are listening
Still one of the best sets I have ever seen! love to re-watch this. Thanks again post!
The fact that Post Malone did this in the beginning of the pandemic for us, such a gift. Legend
@Post .malone if I could publicly dislike a comment

God bless you all
He raised a nice chunk of change. It would be really nice to see where that money went, if it lined some "charity's" pocket or did it make it to a good cause.
If you told me a month ago both Puddle Of Mudd and Post Malone would go viral covering Nirvana, one would kill it, one would butcher it, I would have guessed completely wrong. This is absolutely killer!
Chuck's Guitar Geekery now l have to look up how puddle of mud butchered it 😅
I come back and watch this often, its the best live performance I've seen in so long thank you Posty and everyone
Post Malone should make at least one rock album during his career. Its gave me goosebumps
