As a 51 year old who was lucky enough to experience the Grunge explosion of beyond great music and the long overdue mainstream acceptance of Metallica while in College - I almost feel equally blessed to now hear Post Malone sing/honor this music with his truly genuine soul and uniquely amazing vibrato…
The versatility is incredible. You got me by about 10 years so it’s hard for me to picture Metallica not being mainstream

Totally agree, some of the earlier ones are decent but the more recent ones like basket case/all apologies I think the raspiness and hard acoustic guitar are awesome.
